Slow service, food so so. Don’t bother. French onion soup tastes like vinegar. Oddly, I ate most of it. Couldn’t tell if I hated it or liked it in an odd unsoupy way

As a first time visitor, I was delighted at their friendly service, and their extensive breakfast menu selections! Their Challa Bread French Toast was delicious and abundant! Another plus is that they kept my cup of coffee filled at all times!(A definite must for a coffee drinker like myself!) Will definitely stop by again! (Did not find anyone«rude» in there., must’ve been a typo! LOL!)

It is a bit dated but I like the old school charm of the place. I’ve only had a few things here but what I’ve had is FANTASTIC! Their omelette same better than any diner in this area & the muffins they keep on the counter are out of this world! Love this place

Burgers are awesome, and the cheesecake is the best I’ve ever had… EVER! Yea it’s a little dated, but i call it «cozy». I only give it 4 stars b/c I went there for breakfast and the steak in the steak & eggs wasn’t great. The people are nice, the burgers are great…

All I ordered was a western omelette, hash browns and toast and it was one of the best I’ve had. When I go back I will be asking for our server, Annie!

I must have caught the server on a bad day, she seemed grumpy. I needed a few minutes to look through the extensive menu but felt rushed to order. I decided on the veggie omelet; it was crying out for salt. The dish came with home fries(very tasty).

The best work do describe this diner is «average». Some foods they have I really enjoy(like chicken fingers, certain wraps and a few other things). But some things they serve aren’t good at all, like the Philly Cheesesteak. They have a large menu so it’s clear the chef doesn’t have as big a range as s/he is set up for! The staff is always nice, the service is good, and I actually like the way it looks/is set up. I like that they sometimes give free cookies after the meal. Just don’t buy any of the desserts on the table by the cashier; they’re usually stale or soggy. Typical diner that’s nothing fancy but enough to keep you coming back if you like that sort of foo.

Food was ok, but this place had a strange vibe the day we walked in, like we didn’t belong there — every single person in the joint looked at us suspiciously.

My daughter and I had a very large and delicious dinner at our very first visit to the Eagle Rock Diner tonight. I had a Turkey Pot Pie dinner special that came with soup. She chose a broiled salmon entrée that came with a potato, vegetable and soup of salad. My Beef Barley and my daughter’s Cream of Spinach soups were both bowls, not cups and very tasty. Our waitress described the Turkey Pot Pie at my request while ordering and she let me know that it was not very creamy inside — which is great for me. There were lots of chunks of turkey, fresh celery and carrot and possibly canned peas, but I think they were frozen(it is February). The filling was moist without being gloppy. The oval casserole was topped with a delicious pastry. I would order that again in a heartbeat. My daughter’s Broiled Salmon platter was beautiful. She had a huge foil wrapped baked potato, a large portion of perfectly steamed broccoli and a large piece of well seasoned salmon. The salmon was cooked a little bit past our preference, but we didn’t specify medium rare. It tasted fresh and was delicious. We were served a basket of warmed dinner rolls with butter before our soup arrived and our server checked in with us a few times even though she was busy. The décor was very retro, but it was clean. The packages of homemade baked goods on a table near the register looked delicious. I think next time we will indulge. I liked that the cashier asked me if my daughter could have a lollipop when I went up to pay with out her instead of just automatically handing it to a child. That scored big points with me.

Years ago this diner was great. I guess it just went downhill little by little. We would come here after bowling on Sunday nights for a light dinner. The food was always okay, but not great. Our last time was the end for us. My one daughter is vegan so she ordered a plate with veggies, a baked potato and whatever else she could eat. The mixed veggies were canned — gross. If you are not serving fresh at least use frozen. My other daughter ordered a beef dish and wound up throwing up all night. I thought the beef looked weird, but I never imagined she would get sick. If you go here, stick with breakfast.

I’m not going to lie. The service is hardly there. My glass was a little dirty. There was this spot under my table that seemed to have never been swept. My medium well burger came out well done– actually it came out as a chicken wrap because they mixed up the order– but when I did get my burger it was well done. Lots of little things were wrong. But. This place is just RAD. A complete time warp. And sometimes, you have to show places like this a little love. So many call it run down and out dated, but I think it’s beautiful. I love the vintage details– the fringed leather, the intricate details in the wood, and the oversized chandeliers. Even the waitresses seem out of another place in time. What can I say?

We were in the area looking at wedding venues, and needed something to eat between appointments. Stopped in here, and has a great lunch. We had burgers and fries. It was more than enough food. I would def. visit again if I were in the area!

This diner feels cozy and warm. We were treated well and taken care of in terms of service and quality of the food. We shared the stuffed mushroom which were delicious btw. This was over rice that was very good as well. We each had a bowl of soup, bit were good mine was Matzo Ball Soup and Eve had Chicken Noodles Soup. Coffee was ok. That was probably the weakest part of the meal but as it was to fight the cold weather it’s warmth was right on. We would go back again if we were nearby.

Its old and feels old, with dated décor, a feel of staleness all about, etc. The food is just so-so. It’s hard to eat a midgrade meal when you’re in a joint that seems like not a dime was reinvested since the 70s. Nothing tastes fresh. It’s as if everything is prepared from a can or a box. There’s just way too many diner options in the nearby area to warrant a visit here.

The food is decent, but they need a face lift! When you eat in, you feel like you’re in a 70’s log cabin! Everything looks old and dusty.

The service was friendly but the place is so worn down inside… and the food was just ok. I asked if the hollandaise was homemade or from a mix… the waitress said, «I don’t know… I think homemade.» The answer is it is not homemade.

Here is why I will go back… it’s a diner. I ordered dinner. My bad. Stick with what you know, baby. Should’ve ordered breakfast, even at 6PM. They serve. You live in Essex county, you know what I mean. ’nuff said. Loved my waiter. Adorbs. The diner really shouldn’t be held accountable for the loud-as-bad-disco biddy in the booth over who apparently was the placard model for every bad stereotype given to annoying people from Jersey. A reason to stay away… my coconut cream pie tasted like Banana Boat. It may have even provided me some SPF.

Food is always fresh and cooked to my specifications. That’s one of the reasons why I am giving it a great review. It’s so important. Place is clean. Bathroom were very clean as well. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger deluxe and I ordered an egg white pepper tomato and American cheese omelette with eye toast prepared dark and bacon ell done and it came out perfectly. I also recently ordered the French onion soup and it came out perfectly. Coffee was fresh and so was my juice. Food came out within 10 – 12 minutes of ordering and drinks were delivered within 3 – 5 minutes of ordering. Water was placed on the table by the busboy as soon as we were seated. Although the place was fairly busy we were seated within 5 – 7 minutes of arrival. I couldn’t ask for more. Also the parking lot is huge. Can’t go wrong here
