MooBurger

This place is so infuriating sometimes. It used to be great as Sarku, but once they fused Mooburger/​Sarku things deteriorated rapidly. Sometimes they don’t pick up their phone during business hours, sometimes they pick up and say they don’t deliver that day, sometimes they do deliver and leave parts of your order at the store. Customer service is not a priority to them. I’ve given up on them. Hope you have a better experience than I did!

If I could give it a ZERO star rating I would. We ordered what looked like nice burgers from their menu. They arrived LATE, COLD, SOGGY and absolutely disgusting !!
The fries were burned and not burned today, but burned 3 days ago and re-​heated today.
The burgers were TINY !! I could have gotten bigger burgers from White Castle, which are purposely «sliders».
I would NEVER order from there again… stay away !!!

4 stars for the teriyaki chicken and as one reviewer wrote, it used to be Sarku and it still is Sarku teriyaki chicken.
I came here one late night and met the owner, who told me his story. Sarku was a huge success, everybody loved the teriyaki chicken dish. Sarku’s «secret sauce» carries a shroud of mystery — it’s really difficult to duplicate this complex flavor at home, because it involves hours of boiling the broth with dozens of ingredients to make the sauce base. But even though it was such a huge success, Sarku is a chain and demanded high franchise fees, which the owner could not afford along with Bergenline rent fees.
So Sarku closed and it became Mooburger, same owner without the franchise fees. The owner wanted to create a better burger than Burger King’s and McDonald’s, using fresh steak cuts, which he grinds himself. Even Five Guys buys ground beef, he told me. Ground beef is a mixture of different cuts of beef (mostly cheap cuts), sometimes from different cows from as many as five different countries. This is why ground beef is cheaper than whole beef cuts. He was very proud of his burger.
But customers missed Sarku’s teriyaki chicken, free samples for which he used pass out in front of the restaurant. So he brought it back and added it to the menu, along with a mishmash of other popular fast food items.
The burgers are a better quality meat and tasty, but it is not as juicy as Five Guys, which I have communicated to the owner. The cashier that night was slow and messed up my order, but owner apologized and corrected it, giving me a free dessert since it was near closing time and no other customers were there. Next time I went here, which was months later, the cashier, another gal, was again somewhat slow/​spacey but she did know how to use the register. I don’t know how long it will stay in business, but the food here is really decent for a fast food restaurant.

This place totally sucks. Let me give you a brief history of this place. It used to be a Sarku, which was equally crappy. Then it closed down and ultimately reopened as a Moo Burger. I checked it out and it was pretty good. The burger was cooked well, nice and juicy. It was exciting to have something other than a McDonald’s or Burger King! But as quickly as they opened, they shut down! Approximately after a month they reopened as a Moo Burger/​Sarku! Ugh, why? I tried it out finally when I was craving a burger one day and wound up totally regretting it afterwards. The hamburger bread was soaked in grease. I had some cheese fries too and they were soaked in this oily, fake cheese. The Sarku side offers greasy noodles and the shrimp is poor quality. Just overall awful, never coming back.

Great service owner was very informative about the quality of the beef in the burgers and how they go about the process. The burger was great nice and juicy and the French fries were delish as well. We Lao had the teriyaki chicken and noodles, was good but definitely loved the burgers. It’s great to have a burger place in the neighborhood, well a decent one ! Will be coming back and definitely recommended !
