DO NOT SHOOT HERE. Range employee was extremely condescending, patronizing and just plain rude. I would definitely choose to shoot anywhere else.

Have been coming here for a while on a regular basis. Enjoy shooting here and have never had a bad experience. Went in today with my wife, after getting to the front of the line to pay for two lanes because we like to shoot separately, we were told by the let’s just say «gentleman» that he had only one lane. Fine I said my wife can shoot and I will wait for the next. The «gentleman» told me that if I wanted to wait I would have to go to the back of the line? Wtf sense does that make. You could not talk to this guy. Before I lost my temper, I left. The funny thing is I was going to buy a pistol there today.

Never saw a place where so many jerk offs work. Called Anthony arms and ask if they could order a certain carbine. They said they could and needed a deposit. Placed 100 dollars down and they indicated it would be in, in two weeks. Called in two weeks and they stated it was on back order. By the way it never was on back order and the item was easy to obtain. I then waited 4 weeks and called and they didn’t even know where the order was. Drove out to the store and one associate was eating a piece of lunch meat, dropping it on the floor and attempting to talk with a customer. I ask the other associate where the carbine was. He fumbled through a stack of papers, went to get another jerk off and opened the register and handed my money back with no explanation. They probably were not going to make a large profit on the item, but lacked the balls to contact me. Don’t deal with this place

First off let me say I’ve always avoided this place because of their awful reputation. I decided to stop here on my way home from Kennywood because I didn’t feel like driving 20 minutes past my house in South Park to go to Field & Stream in Washington.
I walked in and did a few laps around this tiny joke of a store and no one bothered to ask me if I needed help even though there were 5 employees and I was the only customer.
I went up to some guy who was just chilling behind the counter looking like a Jersey shore reject. I asked him «Where are the .308 die kits?» He looked bewildered, and said they don’t sell them. He asked why would I bother to reload when I can just buy new ammo. Gee I don’t know, maybe because I could pay .30 cents a bullet rather than $ 1.50 a piece.
How does a gun shop not sell reloading supplies?

Some dumb bitch, told me I couldn’t buy a gun because I wasn’t a citizen. WTF!!! She just assumed because how I look. She had the worst attitude & was very unprofessional. If u hate your job that much freaking quit. I will NEVER visit this place again! !

This review is only about the range.
I had never been here before so like most places I had to read the rules and was asked some basic safety questions before I started. I Went early so I was the only one on the range for a short time. They had some fun targets to buy as well as a big selection of guns to rent. The only real down side was you can’t use your own ammo and have to buy theirs. It’s not a bad price but it’s a pain if you buy it somewhere else cheaper and end up having to shovel out for more. You also ether use it or lose it. If you don’t shoot it that day you can’t bring it back.
In the end I spent about an hour doing my target shooting and enjoyed myself.
The staff was professional and kept the range clean and safe. I’m giving them 3 stars because of the ammo policy. It’s just a real pain I have a few boxes at home I can’t use with them.

I went to AA as a first experience with firearms and I was a little nervous!!! Let’s be honest, we are talking about weapons that can really hurt someone or worse. I did not check Unilocal (for once) before heading over so I am really surprised by the comments of others.
I went with my husband, also a beginner, and a friend, an expert. I was glad to go with a person experienced with firearms because there are lots of safety items to go over!
When you walk in, it is very overwhelming. There are soooo many different firearms for sale. We weren’t sure where the shooting range was, so we tried to check in at the front counter. This young man was a little rude. We told him we would like to try out the shooting range and his response was «ok.» Well?!? Eventually he pointed us in the right direction and we headed downstairs to the range.
The gentleman that helped us there was very formal and professional. He was definitely all business! (Which I appreciated bc it was no joke for me!!) He reviewed the weapon we rented, all the rules and was very helpful with tips.
The actual range was loud! I eventually got used to it and was able to focus. I hit the center of the target by the end of our time at 25 yards. Yeah!
We did have to rent equipment, bullets, ear protection and rent the lane. 55 $ which I thought was reasonable.
Will be going back to practice.

This is the worst gun shop I’ve ever been in. Unfortunately the employees are the problem. When you walk in, the place looks very impressive and they have a very large selection of firearms. This is the only thing nice about the place. Once you ask for help in any way, the experience goes down hill. The people who work there are just plain rude. It is like they do not want to be bothered. This review is only about the store, I have never been down to the range.
Do yourself a favor, go someplace else!

THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! If you would ever wanna buy an firearm from this place, please be aware that they’re very over priced and the person who would eventually help you has no idea what the hell he saying. The guy who helped me had to read the Manuals book to tell me about the firearm I was looking at. Plus he was very rude, I waited about half an hour just to talk to one of them but the whole time they’re were all just walking around and laughing to one another. The service was just horrible, the guys who works their should really quit their jobs cause it seems like they had no desire to help people out when finding the right firearm. They’re just all about the money. Never coming back to this dump ever again.

I really enjoy this place and have never had a problem with the service. We came here to try out a new firearm that the hubby bought for me. A smithfield XDS 9 mm. I LOVE IT! We were helped out by Jay who told us that he purchased the very same gun I own for his girlfriend. He’s ex-​military so he was very knowledgable about how to operate the weapon.
When you come to the indoor range, your not allowed you use your own ammo although you can use your own weapon if its range approved. Luckily mine was and the hubby had the .38 police special. We had our own ammo at first but the emptied my clip and saved my ammo until after shooting practice.
Prices are a little high, I have to pay for ammo, ear protection and the target which for both of us was about $ 50. We ended up paying for two boxes of ammo and 2 more targets which was another $ 50. After giving my gun a nice workout we headed upstairs to look over a few other weapons and grab some ammo.
Jay was upstairs this time and he helped us buy some ammo. After that he showed me how to disassemble my gun and put it back together again. This was really awesome because he helped me the whole way through and even watched me take it apart 3 times. I was really happy with the service and now I have the knowledge of how to clean, takedown and reload my gun.
We will definitely be back here but because this place is so far away I’d rather find a closer range. But until I do this will be the place to go.
Did I mention that because I checked in on Unilocal i got one free hour at the range! Hell yea! saved $ 12.50…

My recent experience at AA was actually fine, much better than most of the reviews here. Bought a gun and shot at the range couple of times. Employees were nice enough considering they are busy helping packed customers. Range is good too if you pick the right time.

My husband and I stopped here looking to buy a gun for me. I wanted a try a few out and see what I liked. So we go down to the range, rented 2 different 9 mm, got through 2 magazines, and a round got stuck in the chamber. So I leave the gun, go out to get the guy, tell him what’s wrong. He comes in, tells me exactly what I told him, and proceeds to tell me that inexperienced females shouldn’t be shooting guns!!! He continues to berate me as loudly as possible, even though I followed protocol!!! Their gun malfunctioned, and he yells at me! Then when I was leaving, he was just a complete a$$hole that did his best to make sure everyone in line knew that «the girl» messed up. I didn’t like the gun, the store or the customer service. I will NEVER give them my business again. I love paying $ 100 for someone to make me feel like a piece of garbage. When i purchase my gun, it will not be from them.

Very rude. I avoid this place and would travel well out of my way to give my business to someone else. They obviously do not care to provide good customer service. I once had a question about laser sights and they were very condescending with their reply, other times I’m ignored completely. Such a pity.

I avoid this place like the plague.
Anthony Arms ought to be my go-​to place for all things guns. After all, it’s got (a) an incredibly convenient location, (b) a large selection of guns, © an attached indoor shooting range, and (d) an on-​site, on-​service gunsmith. Unfortunately, the service is frighteningly inconsistent: at its best it’s slow but friendly, and at its worst it’s downright surly, mean-​spirited, and rude. Depending on a multitude of factors, apparently including what side of the bed the salesperson woke up on that day, you’re going to get one or the other.
Every single time I have gone to buy a gun here, I’ve walked out empty-​handed. Sometimes, I was completely ignored despite polite requests for help. Other times, I’d get a well-​meaning salesman who started to help me, but then ended up helping another customer instead (forgetting all about me in the process). I tolerated these. The last straw, however, came when I came across one particularly fine example of salesmanship (and humanity, apparently …) who rolled his eyes with condescension and frustration at every question I asked (I only had three questions to ask, by the way, and he answered none of them).
I’m never coming back here again.

The place is always packed, plan on an hour wait to use the range. Service in the sales in very slow and unprofessional.

EXCELLENT, knowledgeable & friendly staff. LOVED shooting here. We had to rent firearms since ours were at home in Oregon & I must say the guns were in GREAT condition! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE NICE FOLKS!

Fifteen months ago I had great cause to write an old-​fashioned complaint letter, but I didn’t. I am hoping to remedy that lapse in judgement right now by sharing this review and writing directly to the offending party as well, first thing tomorrow.
My fear of guns has been a lifelong fear. There is a personal reason why this fear is stronger now, but I worry that that story might sully the facts of this situation, so I’ll just stick to the facts for now. When two friends asked me to join them for a gun class at Anthony’s Arms in March of last year I reluctantly agreed, feeling that I might conquer my fear and «arm» myself for the future, should I end up in a comprising situation with an armed individual. From the moment I set foot in Anthony’s Arms I was resolved to treat the class fairly; leaving my preconceived notions of «gun people» at the door. I patiently listened to the politically-​charged introduction about how «lucky» we are to live in a country that recognizes an individual’s right to gun ownership. I didn’t even smirk when the instructor swore that guns were not «weapons» at all — instead insisting that PEOPLE are the weapons. I was determined to learn how to use a gun properly… and promptly write to my congressperson about the necessity for stricter gun control immediately after the class.
All 10+ members of the class were seated at a series of 8 ft. tables lined end to end, all facing the instructor and the cinder blocked walls of what could best be described as a long, enclosed hallway. I was not asked for identification and after the introduction was promptly issued a gun. At one point my attention turned to a woman seated nearby. Whereas I had difficulty picking up the gun, she was all too happy to play with it and spent much of the first part of the class twirling the gun around and pulling the trigger (we’d been assured the guns were not loaded). When our instruction officially began I gave it my full attention and tried to keep my mind off of the «Wild Card» seated near me. We reviewed the parts of the gun and started by removing the «magazine» — to those of you like me, who think «Newsweek» when you think «magazine,» this is otherwise known as the «clip.» Anyway you put it, it’s where the bullets go. I took the magazine out, I put the magazine in… I took the magazine out — you get it… it was a hokey-​pokey with guns.
At one point I paused, holding the magazine in my left hand and the gun in my right. With my right elbow propped up on the table I started to push the magazine back in with my left hand, but the Wild Card caught my eye again. She just wouldn’t stop pulling the trigger and I thought, «How can she be so comfortable doing that?» I pulled the magazine out again to make sure I was doing it right and something small and metal fell out. It didn’t fall out of the magazine. It fell out of the gun; specifically, the chamber (that place from where the bullet fires). A small, metal thing lay before me on the table. I didn’t know what it was, I just stared at it. The man seated to my left looked at me, then at the metal thing, then back at me and said «That’s pretty bad.» I stared some more and asked him, «What is that?» «A shell,» he said. I wondered, «Is a shell the outside of a bullet? That little metal thing can’t be a REAL bullet, can it?» It was. For the past several minutes I’d been working intimately with a loaded gun, getting ready to pull the trigger. Seated to my right were two of my closest friends — to my left, a seasoned gun owner who seemed equally as scared as I felt at this very moment. At some point the instructor came over and I calmly explained to him what had just happened. He grabbed the gun and quietly conferred with his colleague; all the while looking at me, gauging my reaction, I’m assuming. I just stared. What if I had pulled the trigger? Would the bullet have ricocheted back at me or worse, at one of my friends? How did it get there? Why was the gun not checked by the instructor? What if the Wild Card had been given this gun instead?
These questions plagued me long after I left Anthony’s Arms. In fact, they plague me still. I left that day in shock, but arrived home in a fury. I planned to write to anyone who would listen: Congress, Anthony’s Arms, the NRA, the President, etc. I stopped myself a few times, wondering if I was overreacting and found myself at odds with my own feelings. I was so upset but at the same time, didn’t want to think about it… at all… ever.again. So, I tried to forget about it. Over a year later I haven’t forgotten about it and I don’t think I was overreacting. An unidentified individual (me) drove to Anthony’ s Arms and paid $ 75 to take a class, during which I was given the opportunity to fire a loaded gun in a room full of strangers. Yes, it was an accident, but those are the facts. Shame on them for letting it happen and shame on me for keeping quiet for so long.

It’s a gun store… How great can it truly be? I have used the indoor range a number of times and have had the same experience each time. Walk in to the range, someone with no personality has you sign some forms. Get over charged for ammo and then I go shoot. Then I leave and say to myself, I’m never coming back here again because most of the time I deal with this guy who just comes off as a prick. It really makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside that this a-​hole works at a gun store!

my brother, a buddy and i came out here around christmas for some good ol’ fashioned man time.
holy crap — besides the showroom containing anything gun related you could ever need, the place is filled to the brim with exotic taxidermy. birds? deer? yeah they have that, but they also have an ELEPHANT standing in the middle of the place. wow.
pretty much everything except a dinosaur is mounted somewhere in there.
the firing range was downstairs and on the nicer end of ranges i’ve been too in that everything was clean and professional.
unfortunately the handguns were all being cleaned, and we had forgotten our glocks at home… so we ended up talking with the workers for awhile and watching others shoot. overall the prices were very fair, and you can rent some awesome guns for $ 5 if you don’t own (and they aren’t being cleaned).
the highlight of the trip was using the bathrooms though. they’re situated right beside the ranges and that shit is loud.
let’s just say i now know what its like to go to the bathroom in fallujah.

Well, the boyfriend bought a gun online and had it transferred to Anthony’s. It arrived on Wednesday morning and so he went there to pick it up, and they didn’t even realize it was in. So he had to go back the following day. Mind you they’d had the gun since 10 that morning and my boyfriend was there around 5. Every time he called they yelled at him and kept interrupting him. There’s one guy who’s «a crushing asshole» and everyone else is really nice, but that one guy answers the phone all the time and does not leave a good impression.
