I visited this location on a Thursday night. Service was really good as well as the food. I had the pork steak that I had seen a lot of reviews about. This steak is smoked not fried and man is it good. Just put your fork in and twist, no knife needed. The grilled asparagus makes a great side.

Our first visit(which include half of my family at LEAST20 of us) Was perfect, the owner asked everyone individually how was their meal. Service was awesome! Not so much the second time we came back a month later with the same amount of people and the service was poor and the food was cold. I would still rate five stars considering that they may had been experiencing a rough night, but I will definitely return, though I can’t speak for the rest of my family.

Located inside of the Clarion Hotel, this place leaves a little more to be desired. When you walk in, it seems like a BBQ joint… but once you walk a little further in there is a stage for live music and then a bar-like section that has pool tables, games, etc… so, a restaurant is not exactly what I would consider this place. Maybe a bar that served BBQ would be a more accurate description. On the night we went, they had live music, which was kind of a turn off for us as we just wanted to enjoy a dinner. It was mid-week, which is not when I expect live music. If I would have visited on a weekend day, I would not be making this claim, but that’s just me! The waitresses were nice and seemed decently attentive, even with all that was going on. They did however seemed to be short staffed for the floor. There were only two waitressed for 14 tables this night. They both seemed to manage well, but I could tell it was stretching them a little far. As for the food, we both ended up ordering a BBQ dish. I ordered the brisket sandwich and she ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Both the meat and sides were plentiful for the price! Our only complaint was that you HAD to have a BBQ sauce for the meat. Otherwise it was just too dry. They had several different varieties of sauce on each table, my favorite was the mustard based sauce. Overall, the food was not terrible. But, again… there seems to be an identity crisis with this place. There are not many options around this area, but it also seems worth it to drive the 10 miles into Memphis to get some authentic BBQ from a real BBQ joint.

The staff was very nice, and the french fries were good, but those are the only really positive things I have to say. My wife and I tried the pulled pork, ribs, macaroni and cheese, and the alligator tail. The alligator tail was chewy and seemed to have been reheated, the ribs were passable, but poor for a location so close to Memphis, and the pulled pork was so bad that we both stopped eating after our first bite. The macaroni and cheese tasted like cafeteria food and had an almost sticky consistency. For the price, this is a place I will be avoiding in the future. It’s a shame, because a good BBQ restaurant in that location could do very well.

Service is slow. 3 different people waited on us. Onion rings were really good. We stayed thirsty most of the meal. Ice tea had no ice. BBQ nachos meat was ok.

Ordered ribs that were awesome, flavorful and tender along with garlic mushrooms(cooked to death, rubbery and bland) & fried green tomatoes(seemed like a frozen throw in the fryer from a bag sort of thing. Ick) and key lime pie(another frozen job but palatable). Other than the ribs, the only thing that got eaten was the toast. This restaurant was next door to the hotel we were staying at on our two day road trip so it was certainly convenient. Thankfully, we got our order to go. We have two small children and it seemed like a chicken wire/bar brawl having sort of rowdy joint. Not our scene.
