I’ve been coming here since late 2011 and there is truly none better anywhere I’ve ever been. Dr. Zhang is a master at what he does and that is really everything. From acupuncture, herbal remedies, or just being one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.
He is patient, he listens to you, and he is thoughtful in his responses. He also carefully evaluates your treatment options based on how you actually live. I’m currently in a phase where I go about 1 – 2 times a month and more if I need it.
Adding these treatments to my overall health and fitness regimen has kept me in some of the best health of my life. He’s also helped me conquer several long term health issues I’ve been dealing with with some simple herbal remedies that don’t have any crazy side effects.
All in all I look forward to every treatment I have here and the staff is amazing. This plus the solid service I receive, makes me recommend this to anyone looking to try a different approach to their health care. I feel better and I know you will too!

Would you travel 700 miles monthly for acupuncture? I did for several years because I trust Dr. Dongxun Zhang. Besides his top credentials, he’s gentle, listens, and doesn’t rush.

I continue to get the very best FULL BODY healthcare from Li at China Health Center (aka Austin Natural Healing Center)!!! After each appointment, I am more and more impressed with Li’s knowledge, approaches, and the results!
During previous visits I’ve had cupping, acupuncture, and ear seeding performed to alleviate stress — with great, lasting results. On my most recent visit, I had the «usual» (i.e., acupuncture for stress) plus ear seeding — this time to alleviate stomach issues.
However, the main focus of the session was to address a patch of bothersome, unsightly varicose and spider veins on my leg that I’ve had since my late-​teens. I’ve thought about having sclerotherapy for several years, but never had the procedure done because the odds of the veins simply reappearing are rather high.
I SO wish I would have taken before and after photos of my leg pre– and post-​treatment at China Health. With a combination of herbs, oils, heat, and message… the veins have almost entirely disappeared. I literally could not believe my eyes when I sat up and examined my leg. Magic! And such fantastic outcome after ONE treatment. I will be taking some oral herbal supplements and of course have a few more treatments. According to Li, when the veins are fully healed… that’s it. They don’t come back. For anybody who doubts the effectiveness of Chinese medicine, feel free to accompany me on my next visit and observe the reality of success. I could go on and on. Just wonderful!

Dr. Zhang and his daughter are amazing. Rumor has it that Dr. Zhang is somewhat of a rockstar back in China, able to block pain for surgery with just his acupuncture needles. Here in Westlake, I know of cases in which he’s fixed gall bladder problems, avoiding surgery. I know of another case in which he improved circulation so much in a woman’s neck that she delayed surgery for a year. He helped my daughter with her migraines.

I’m always trying to get anyone and everyone I know just to stop by and meet the lovely folks here. Dr. Zhang, the primary Doctor here, is just wonderful. He’s so patient and kind, even the most resistant family members finally took a trip here and had nothing but awesome feedback from the experience. I even enjoy it when the front desk girls call to confirm or to check in. :)
Have been visiting this facility for over a year now and have noticed a great improvement in overall well being and health. A nice side benefit: my allergies have reduced so much, I didn’t even realize it until I didn’t need to take allergy med’s every day.
While acupuncture might seem very abstract to most people, just ask the staff here any question and they’ll be glad to give you a concise and knowledgeable answer. I genuinely believe his services are far better than what most Western Dr’s can provide.(But will always err on the side of caution if he sees a need for western medical intervention and treatment, going along with the patients wishes of course)
He aims at preventative treatment, which has helped us tweak our diets and self care to improve our health with success. I deal with anxiety and just by continuing to receive treatment, I’ve noticed this, along with other practices, has greatly reduced my constant sense of anxiety, all without drugs or herbs. I’ve found acupuncture to be the best at treating the nervous system, which is kinda how it works. I think most people can benefit from that experience, even if you don’t think you have anxiety or the like.
They prescribe herbs that they sell in house, and no these are not a scam, as I’ve heard other patients comment on about other less-​credulous facilities. E.G.: I’ve gotten herbs maybe 5 times out of 20 visits. Most can continue to be used and he won’t ever over-​prescribe, or suggest anything you have concern taking. I’ve experienced and heard about plenty of facilities that give you something to take at every visit. After coming back to China Health Center, I’ve realized how it should be done. I’ll never change Dr’s unless I move too far away.
I’m also very excited that both his son and daughter have proceeded to follow in his footsteps. They both share his calming, professional manner and Dr. Zhang ensures that they both are well experienced before providing treatment. My husband and I both say that we always want a Zhang treating us. :) All the good aspects of what should happen, happens here. We’re so grateful to get this experience monthly.
