Pooch At Play is West Lafayette’s newest doggie daycare center! Do you hate to leave your pup at home all day while you work or attend school? We provide a safe and happy place for them to play freely with other socialized dogs while you are away. Our facility features two play rooms so we can separate by temperament and size to allow for the safest play environments. We also offer overnight boarding, grooming, and much more. Contact us today to get started! All dogs must schedule an entrance interview for temperament testing.

We are West Lafayette’s newest doggie daycare! We feature two large playrooms for large or small dogs. Your pup will have cage-free playtime with other safe and socialized pooches! All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Please call to schedule an Enrollment Interview and Temperament Test prior to your first visit.

Pooch At Play recognizes the importance of safe and fun playtime for your pooch. We only use positive techniques to maintain fun and balanced social group! We also offer full grooming services with highly experienced grooming staff.

Business Owner

Steve graduated from Purdue University in 2007 with a BS in Animal Science. He obtained further training and certification through the Pet Care Services Association. Steve previously worked with Woodland Animal Hospital in Carmel, IN. While working there he gained valuable experience and knowledge in the pet care industry. He started as a Kennel Attendant, but, through his passion for working with dogs, quickly was moved into the clinic as a Vet Assistant. Steve’s main goal is to use Pooch At Play to raise awareness of pet owners on the importance of proper dog care. Regular exercise, grooming, socialization, and training are essential for a healthy balanced dog. His love for dogs shows through his Day Care.

We are from out of town so I was looking for a place to board our pups while we were visiting friends in Lafayette. I was so happy that we chose Pooch at Play! We have one dog that has a lot of anxiety with new places and I really appreciated that the staff went the extra mile to make her feel as comfortable as possible. I also love that they take the dogs out often for walks. It’s great that I was able to get our pups nails trimmed while they were there and everything from making the reservation to picking them up went very smoothly.

My puppy LOVES coming here. He actually (physically) leaps out of my arms in the mornings into Lorinnes arms or the owners when I drop him off. They are the best. Incredibly professional, loving, compassionate dog lovers, and will take such great care of your baby while you’re gone. I had just moved to Lafayette and didn’t know where to go and I’m SO glad we ended up at Pooch at Play. There was even one day when Augustus went outside to go potty when it was raining, and he got super dirty — they ended up giving him a bath just out of courtesy and professionalism! They are a dream team and a second family for a Augustus, and I’m so, so thankful he gets to go here. Beyond taking care of your dog while you’re gone they have helped me answer a lot of questions involving crate training, bathing, and general care for my new dog. Wouldn’t bring my dog anywhere else!

They did a fantastic job grooming my dog, but the customer service was lacking and I have a feeling that my dog was not well looked after. After being assured that he would have water and get outdoor access to do his business, I left my dog in their care and returned after work hours later. My dog immediately pooped when we got outside and guzzled his water down like he hadn’t drank all day. Since he had not gone #2 on our morning walk 7 hours earlier, I’m positive that he would have already gone had they actually taken him outdoors. Very disappointed in their care of my animal.

We love this place! We boarded our two Weimaraners here for the first time last weekend, and they had a blast! The employees seem to love and understand dogs, and the form to fill out for daycare and boarding is extensive, which is really important: one of our dogs is a rescue and touchy about people handling his feet, so I was really happy that they asked about that and respected his quirks. Staff are friendly and flexible, and we’ll definitely be going to them whenever we need to board our kiddos :)

I agree with another reviewer that there’s a strange atmosphere at this place. We booked our gentle, friendly dog for boarding over spring break. We took him there for a few daycare days prior to see how he’d do. He seemed ok but the staff was extremely unfriendly and didn’t seem passionate about dogs in the least. I became nervous but we boarded him there for the week anyway. When we picked him up, he was understandably excited, and he smelled and looked great! We were happy he appeared to have had a bath. But the next time we were at the dog park around other dogs, he was more aggressive than I’ve ever seen him in my life. Not in a dangerous way, but still very alarming. I worried that he possibly got bullied at daycare by the large dogs (he’s large but prefers to play with small dogs as he’s really a gentle giant as we noted prior to boarding). I’m not sure what these daycare rooms look like or how/if there’s ever supervision but I will never bring my dog back there again. Luckily we were able to quickly stop this negative behavior but I can only imagine what happened during that week… and of course there’s zero feedback from the staff whatsoever so it will remain a mystery.

My dog loves coming here to play with the other pups! Especially in the winter when it is too cold to play outside.
The workers seem to really care about the dogs here– they have cute photos posted up at the store matching names with dogs so they can get to know the dogs that are there. I once arrived when the workers were taking the dogs out to «go potty” — and actually take the time to hook them up to two separate leashes to ensure safety!
I’m not sure how big the playrooms are, and they don’t have an outdoor space like some of the other places do, but my dog seems a bit tired after a day there. They offer half-days and full-days there, as well as overnight. I have not kept my pup overnight there, so I’m not sure about that process.
They have competitive prices, even offering a student discount. My dog seems excited every time we arrive, so I know he loves his time there.

My dog loves this place! He literally runs to the door when we arrive. He’s always very tired when I pick him up so I know he’s had a fun day. I do think there needs to be one more person working there on a daily basis (there are more people some days). It seems like a lot to do by yourself.

I went in to check out the daycare facility. It was very strange. There was one person there and the dogs all seemed very subdued. The other doggy daycare where I take my dogs, the dogs seem really happy, running around and barking. The space seemed very small for so many dogs and the one person working there did not seem to have a passion for dogs. I would not leave my dog there.

Went in to have my dog’s nails clipped. They did a great job… much better than Pet Smart or my vet have ever done and for only $ 5. Very friendly people working there.
