A rural urban diner with a vintage rock & roll vibe. Fresh, locally sourced foods made from scratch. Our burgers are 100% certified Angus Beef, never frozen and cooked to order over super hot Lava Rocks.

Our homemade soups are legendary, using only the finest, freshest ingredients. We also offer fresh salads, appetizers, wraps, panini, subs and other classic gourmet sandwiches.

Our milkshakes are hand spun and made with real ice cream. We also offer vintage soda pops and fresh brewed iced teas. Portions are huge, prices low, value excellent and service is laid back and friendly. Family friendly.

On any given day you may find business folks, the class of «1958», families with kids, red hat ladies or a motorcycle club all enjoying lunch with us.

History

Established in 2001.

Unusual Junction was originally started back in the 1970’s in Coshocton County Ohio. Lava Rock Grill was added later. We are located in a restored Train Station from 1895 and there are 4 full sized passenger train cars and two 1910 wooden cabooses that set next to our train station.

The station also houses a gourmet market and Amish deli with over 100 local and imported artisanal cheeses.

Next door to Lava Rock Grill is Universe Bridal + Prom which features over 4,000 designer wedding, rom and special occassion gowns, one of Ohio’s largest selections.

We are commited to serving our customers needs on every level. 3 generations have built and grown Unusual Junction and Lava Rock Grill to what it is today. We have served literally hundreds of thousands of customers over the last 3 decades and we plan on being around for another 50 years. We love our community and our neighbors, visitors and friends who have supported us through all these years.
