Driving range is not bad. The workers are friendly. A large bucket of balls is 6 dollars, which use to be 5 dollars before. Also a large bucket of balls is equivalent to a medium bucket at the Purdue golf course. Elk is definitely not as scenic and pretty as Purdue’s but its good enough to just practice.

Wow. Where does I even begin?
First, with a little history, I suppose: one of my near and dear friends set out to get married at this location. She had invited many guests, both in town and out of town, to come celebrate with her at this beautiful location. And superficially, it is a wonderful facility. The golf course provides a picturesque pastoral backdrop. The 20’x20’ marble top bar is a crown jewel in the dining area. On paper, this place was absolutely perfect.
Until the person in charge not only overbooked the hall, but LIED to each of the affected brides about the situation. On purpose.
Yes, you read that correctly. When my friend went to confirm the date a month before her wedding, the person in charge of the banquet hall discovered they’d accidentally overbooked the place. Instead of refunding the deposit or working with the brides to help them find a different date, the unscrupulous planner lied to each of them and claimed the space would be free. Then, TWO DAYS before the date, the planner called back and said there had been a flood and half the space was unusable. As they had no other options by then, they agreed to take a minor discount and proceed.
When the guests arrived, however, it became apparent both brides had been had. There was no ‘water leak’, instead, the planner was running both weddings side by side! That wouldn’t have been quite so bad if it had worked, but this categorically did NOT. There was no access to the men’s restroom from our ‘half’ of the room without invading the other reception. There were no windows. There wasn’t even room to move around — in order to cram the (less than 80) guests in, tables had been slammed up against each other too tightly for people to push their chairs back. Instead of the beautiful marble bar, my friend wound up with a single portable table, plastic cups, two mixers and a few bottles of liquor. The head table was flush up against the only entrance/​exit to the room, making it impossible for guests to use the restroom without squeezing around behind the bridal party. And to add insult to injury, during the attempt to have a dance (sound system wedged in the corner, teeny dance area created by even further compacting the tables), the planner came in to tell us we had to turn the sound system off and STOP TALKING so the other bride could avoid interruption. The sheer lack of professionalism was astounding. If the planner had told the truth a month ago, all of this could have been avoided.
If I could, I would give this place negative stars. I hope everyone remotely considering marriage in Lafayette reads this review and STAYS AWAY from the Elks.
