History

Established in 1948.

Bill Floyd started repairing sewing machines in 1948 and eventually turned that repair shop into a full service sewing machine store. Ernie Floyd his son after graduating high school hopped right into sewing. The two of them worked together in California until Ernie moved up to Utah. When Ernie moved here he was still working with the industrial sewing machines and slowly worked into home sewing machines. Soon enough the store had industrial, home and even vacuum’s. Liz Floyd his daughter was just finishing college when she decided the store needed fabric. She added onto the store something call «Lizzie’s Quilting Palette». Sometime later Ernie and Bill where looking at the quilting industry and noticed there wasn’t an affordable long arm quilting machine. They put there combined knowledge of machines and introduced the company Tin Lizzie 18. We now have our retail store now called Floyd and Lizzie’s and corporate offices for Tin Lizzie 18 in one beautiful building.
