Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. Collins, the founder and Medical Director of The Center for Eye Care and Optical graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1974 and served his residency in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmologic Surgery here on Long Island at the Nassau University Medical Center.

I derive a great deal of satisfaction from the practice of Ophthalmology. From the day-​to-​day interactions with my patients to the challenges of ophthalmic surgery, there is always a deep and abiding sense of accomplishment.

Dr. Collins was Board Certified in 1978 and is the Editor/​Author of Handbook of Clinical Ophthalmology and The Ophthalmic Desk Reference, textbooks for other eye doctors and Your Eyes: An Owner’s Guide, a manual for the general public.

Dr. Collins is a Clinical Instructor at Stonybrook University Medical Center and the U.S. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Northport where he teaches eye surgery to resident doctors in training.
