Voda Spa

Absolutely amazing experience. There are a few things to keep in mind when going to this spa…
Went there today with one of my friends. I got a facial and she got the massage. My estheticians name was Maria. She was absolutely wonderful and super nice. She made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole facial. I got the, clear as voda facial, with an enzyme peel.
The spa was amazing very clean and great service. This is a co-​ed spa. Everyone must wear a bathing suit. We went around 3PM and left around 8PM. They have a few types of saunas, a cold plunge, a jacuzzi, a pool, a steam room, a relaxation room, many showers near the spa and showers in the restroom (which are separate). Just to use the facility there is no appointment needed you can just walk in. But, if you want one of their treatments you need to book an appointment.
They also have a juice bar which is accessible in the spa area.
The restaurant is located outside the spa. You’re not allowed to bring food or any alcoholic beverages in the spa area. But the restaurant is right next to the spa.
I got a margarita and it was delicious: P.
Free parking is available in the alley behind the spa.
One thing I wish was mentioned to us when we arrived and got the tour of the spa was more the lounge area located on the roof top. I wish we knew about this so we can take advantage of the warm sunny weather to get a tan. I found out about this lounge area after we left the spa. :(
But, overall it was a great experience and it was a lot of fun! I will definitely be going back soon!

Wow this place has gone down the drain! I live within walking distance and so I would frequent there often. I took a little break from voda, but recently decided to check it out and brought a friend with me. I was so disappointed. I had to pick up wet bathrobes and towels (not my own) from the lawn bed that in order to have a seat. There were towels on the floor on the other side that needed to be picked up, the whole place just looked unorganized and disheveled. I also has to wait almost 20 minutes before someone came to open my locker for me in the beginning. Before when I used to come here, this place was spotless. It used to be clean, smelling good, staff readily available, and better clientele, now it’s just a bunch of armo guys who get drunk as fuck in the kitchen.
The manager working that day gets 4 stars. I forgot his name which sucks because he deserves recognition, he understood the place is fucked up and he was kind to comp my spa fee and give me a coupon for a free spa day, unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Oh. My. Goodness. Best spa ever! Don’t forget your bathing suit (you can buy one if you do forget it) and plan to spend the whole day (we only spent two hours but wished we had time to spend the whole day). If it’s your first time, take my advice: when you enter the Russian Sauna, sit on the bottom row in front of the door. It’s hot as Hell in there and the top row is meant for people who have experience with the spa. It is soooooo hot.

Strongly unrecommended:
1. Flaunts, glamour, staring at girls, anything but sauna.
2. Unjustified expensiveness.
3. Kids are allowed. Their yelling and bustle is not what I want in a spa.
4. Completely unexpected and unexplained charges on the bill under mysterious pretext «Extra hour».
5. Typically russian rude service or absence of it. Very hostile place. The management doesn’t bother to do anything about it. My email with questions was never answered. No apologies were offered.
Korean places are cheaper, quieter, bikini-​free, and more authentic.

The Clear as Voda facial with Mirta was great. She is a one-​of-​a-​kind esthetician. Extremely knowledgable and talented.

Reasonably priced, not crowded, very relaxing, and great service. Make sure to get a juice from the juice bar because they’re not ridiculously overpriced like you would think they’d be with a captive audience. They’ll sell you lots of health guru, toxin-​cleansing BS if you’re into that sort of thing, but if you’re a sensible person it’s still pretty great!

Last night my roommates and I tried this awesome spa. We googled it, saw reviews about it and decided to give it a try. For the most part the customer service was nice, extremely clean and quiet. All workers where nice. Our 50min massages were great. I had my first experience in the Sauna, and it was great! The pools were nice and clean as well. We enjoyed our visit. And loved the fact that they are open so late, Major plus!

Worse spa ever!,
I got an appointment at 4 pm. And after 21 minutes waitting i went to the front desk to ask! Amd both ladies didnt has an idea ! After wait again until the mamager show up! They told me that that hPpen sometime and blablabla!, and told me i could wait until 6:00 pm for my massage!,
Crazy!, the place is very disgusting, and the people who work there clueless!,
I never gonna go back there!,

I love this place. Great for couples ! We had drinks and some appetizers, then jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Got an amazing facial and being a smoker I love that they have a patio where you can smoke. Great lounge space to relax and so many more amenities. I really feel great when I leave here. The staff is very nice and parking is convenient. Can’t wait to go back !

I love coming here for my facials Mirta is the best I have oily skin so I need pore extraction and she has been the best esthetician by far that I’ve came too! The spa is also great staff is friendly too!

Came in for a deep tissue massage with a girlfriend a few days ago and had a great experience. My masseuse was Tricia and she was absolutely amazing. I didn’t use the pool or sauna because I was in a crunch for time but I did leave a lot more relaxed than when I walked in.

Voda Spa. more like Dirty Russian Bath House Spa. This place was disgusting. We went for a couples massage, off the bat, the bathrobes they gave us were dirty, as were the locker rooms. As soon as we laid down for our massage the therapists used their flaccid fingers and stated we only got the Swedish massage and if we wanted a deeper massage it would cost us… that’s right people they tried to UPSELL us as we lay their naked. The therapists were definitely not certified as one attempted chiropractor moves on me
We then tried the hottub for 0.4 seconds and came out smelling like urine, simply disgusting. Stay away…

tl;dr Voda offers a really solid Banya experience cleverly trapped in the body of a bourgeoisie day spa in an inspired piece of market research for the Santa Monica/​Beverly Hills crowd.
On my perpetual quest to find the ideal sauna experience, it was only a matter of time before I happened upon Voda. While I’ve been to a solid number of Korean spas in the area, my heart belongs to the Russian Banya. In the reviews I’ve read, Banya purists sometimes scoff at the Spa-​ized version of the Banya that Voda is pitching, but I wanted to check it out myself.
The first thing I noticed upon entry is that Voda is trying to be a Spa with a capital S, and not a Banya. The lobby is tastefully decorated; a chipper receptionist greeted me and directed me to a clean and pleasant locker room where I stashed my things and headed to the main sauna area.
Upon entry I stepped into a bright pool area with a high wooden ceiling and Pandora’s spa station streaming gently out of the many speakers. The sauna space is well laid out, with a large swimming pool, a standard cold pool, a hot tub, and a number of showers. There are pool chairs and a juice bar where you can get fresh squeezed juice. There is an adjacent relaxation area with chairs and ottomans if you’d like to catch a nap. None of these features are overly large, but they make decent use of the available space. I had a carrot orange juice, which was lovely.
As a #banyanerd, the most important thing to me was the saunas, and I must confess to some apprehension given how spa-​like everything was. These concerns were unfounded. The Russian Sauna is the largest of the three; it was pleasantly hot, with double doors to keep in the steam. The army of young people manning the spa do a nice job keeping it clean and free of oak leaves, and I noticed them curating the steam regularly. One staffer even fed the oven with a beer mix, which produce delightful, aromatic steam; I’ve only seen this technique one other place and it bought Voda +500 points in my book.
The turkish bath was also pleasantly warm; both baths featured nice touches that I’ve not seen in other Banyas, like wooden trapezoids for you to elevate your head when lying down, and iced washcloths by the cold pool to speed cool down. Turns out spa touches have something to add to the Banya experience.
I took a break at the café to order my usual borscht and pelmini (what, not pierogis?) the borscht was quite flavorful, as was the little loaf of fresh baked bread that accompanied. As for the dumplings swimming in butter, how can you go wrong?
All in all, Voda is the best and only Banya experience in LA; though a little on the pricey side, it offers a great product, and I will definitely be coming back here again.

Came in here for some sweats after a long day at work. Saw some good common on Unilocal,so we decided to give it a shot. Well, it’s pricy for sure. Does it worth that? Hmm, not really. No appointment needed if you came in for spa, unless you want some massage. The eucalyptus steam room has poor smell. The 200 °F steam room is not as hot as the 160 °F one, why so? The equipment is kind of old. But the -25 °F one is ice cold. For your convenience, I recommend you can bring some facial products to let your skin observers better when the steam can open the pores. And bring some hair mask to leave on your hair to soften result. By the way, they don’t serve any water. When you sweat that much, you definitely dehydrate yourself, you can only buy some juice. That’s not thoughtful at all :(might not come again, service is ok

I am a big korean spa fan, so when my friend suggested Voda, I was intrigued.
We arrived around 5pm on a Monday & parked easily in the lot behind the spa. There is no valet on Mondays, but there were only 4 other cars there. When we arrived & told the front desk that this was our first time there, they explained the basics:
* There are safe deposit boxes at the front desk for your valuables — you get a key to hold on to
* Any charges at the bar, café & juice bar, as well as services (mani, pedi, facials, massages) would get charged to our accounts, & we settle up on the way out
And then had a female attendant show us around:
* Café, bar (where they have TVs & also serve food), mens’ locker room, and coed areas are downstairs
* Womens’ locker room, smoking patio, & most of the treatment rooms are upstairs
The entire place was lovely — decorated with nature elements (branches, rocks, water fountains), & the locker room was clean & well stocked. Each locker could be programmed by you, with a 4-​digit code, so no keys to have to keep track of. Robes, towels, slippers, body lotion, razors, toothbrushes, hair dryers, a bathroom scale, & a swimsuit dryer were there for us to use.
Once we changed into our bathing suits, the attendant walked us down to the coed area & showed us around:
* Super hot Russian dry sauna
* Wet Russian sauna (that didn’t feel wet to me, but was less hot than the hottt Russian one)
* Steam sauna (like my faves at the korean spas; & had eucalyptus steam later in the evening)
* Finnish dry sauna (a little less hot than the «wet» Russian sauna)
* Cold plunge pool
* Warm big pool
* Hot pool
* Wet treatment room — for scrubs
* Juice bar! — right next to the pools! — with great looking fresh squeezed juices & smoothies, with ice cream & protein powder
* Relaxation room — with TVs, couches, etc.
* Showers all around
* Pool lounges & towels all around
* A nice (encased in glass) fireplace glowing near the pools
Like the korean spas, they ask that you shower off after any sweating, before entering a pool. Unlike the korean spas, it’s not frowned upon to talk at a normal tone of voice — and it’s slippery around the pools!
Haha, several jokes about a bar + water/​slippery surfaces = trouble were made…
After we tried the pools & saunas, we got hungry & went to check out the café. The extensive menu of appetizers, salads, paninis, full entrees, & desserts looked so good! We ended up ordering:
Pelmeni — meat dumplings, boiled (you can have them fried too), served tossed in butter & parsley, with sour cream. Yum!
Grilled Eggplant, Provolone & Olives Panini — served with a lightly dressed mixed field greens salad, this was yummy too!
One of the pics I saw on their Unilocal page was of «pancakes that come with the couples’ massage». I HAD to ask, because I didn’t see them on the menu. Our very sweet server described them to me, and. Of course I had to order them:
Blintzes — like little eggy pancakes, not themselves sweet, dusted with powdered sugar, topped with a few fresh blueberries, & served with honey & a dish of syrupy dried cherries. YUM!!!
After this, we decided it was time to try the Platza treatment, so we headed back to the coed area. Lo & behold, the whole vibe of the area had changed while we had been in the café.
The sun had set, & the inside lighting around the pools was now dim, intimate. Lights from inside the pools were bluey pinky purply. There were more people there, & the decibel level was a little louder. Music was audible — yet not loud at all.
If you want the Platza, you just ask any attendant. They set us up on the top most level of the hottest dry sauna & we were both afraid we wouldn’t be able to handle it. But they laid cold, wet towels on our necks & heads as we laid face down first, & that alone let us stay in the super high heat much easier.
The bushy bunches of leaves that they used, to first dip in cold water & cool us off, & then beat our bodies, were just the right amount of pressure to be cleansing & stimulating but not abusive (haha). It’s only about 5 mins each on your back & front, but afterwards my head felt clear & my body felt great! A cold plunge & some ice water afterwards, & we both agreed that we could even handle going back in that crazy heat. We watched one of our attendants Platza someone else, & he looked like a crazy nature cheerleader haha.
Every person we spoke to here was friendly & accommodating & really warm, & from the easy parking right up to the quick spin dry for my bathing suit on the way out, I had the best time!
At $ 50 an entry, Voda is definitely more pricey than the korean spas that I’m used to. But — if I’m going with friends who would appreciate having a unique experience, good food, AND an adult beverage, this place offers a much different vibe, & the freedom to be more talkative.
Yep. I’m definitely a fan!

This was part of a bachelorette outing day and it turned out to be pretty great. We got there at about 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and luckily it wasn’t very crowded. They have a valet lot, behind the spa, btw. After we checked in we were shown to the locker rooms to get our robes and slippers. I like their combination lock system – no need to worry about losing keys and whatnot. This is a co-​ed spa so bring your swimsuit!
There’s basically the one main pool room on the first floor with a large pool, a jacuzzi, a small cold-​dip pool and different sauna and steam rooms off to one side. There is also a bar and a lounge area with sofas, chairs and a TV (which happened to be tuned to a sports channel showing MMA that afternoon, maybe for the male contingent). Two girls in our group had massage appointments but the rest of us just decided to hang out in the pools, etc. We ended trying just about every area except the small patio on the 2^nd floor – looked like it was really just a place for smokers to hang out, anyway. We liked the amenities and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Baking in the saunas/​steamrooms and taking a dip in the cold pool was very bracing! We had a fun time just swimming/​soaking/​lounging around. After we had our fill and were wrinkled as prunes it was time to get cleaned up. I was really impressed with their wwimsuit dryer, which is basically a machine that spins your suit at a high speed to get the water out – neato! All in all a fun, relaxing spa afternoon.
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Nicely maintained spa with a variety of amenities.

I would highly recommend to come early to avoid the crowds. I loved that we could stay as long as we wanted while enjoying the great amenities.
Best part of this experience was my Swedish massage, performed by the lovely and intuitive, Patricia. She made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. She had magic hands, I swear!
I will definitely be returning soon.

I love this place. My homie told me about it and said it was a must to check out. Located on Santa Monica Blvd. and N Vista it’s a great, short commute from my place. There is valet parking in the back, costs about $ 5-​$ 10 but if you show up after 8 (like I tend to do) then the parking is free. I think that has to do with the minimal amount of foot traffic that comes in on the late night tip. Evening time here has very minimal clients utilizing the facility which tends to make it feel more private. I probably shouldn’t say this but coming at night definitely has it’s advantages. The space feels more your own, minimal talk makes it more relaxing. The only disadvantage is that if you do come later in the day you run the risk of not being able to see a private masseuse.
There is always some sort of soft Bossa Nova playing in the background. Music is quite subtle and goes will with the overall vibe there.
Use of the spa includes three different temperatures saunas. A cold bath (and I mean FREEZING COLD) several showers to rinse off whenever you need (all showers have complementary hair conditioner shampoo and bathing soap), *A Turkish steam room, A jacuzzi tub, as well as a fresh juice bar with plenty delicious select drinks to choose from. All charges are later applied upon departure. I like that all bills are settled at the end of the stay as opposed to throughout the experience of relaxing. There is also a full restaurant and bar but I believe it closes sometime between 6−8pm (another disadvantage of coming late I guess).
Forgot to mention that the locker rooms are exceptionally clean and completely secure. After you leave all valuables in a safe box (kept at the front desk) they give you a number and a key, and direct you to your designated locker room. Inside, you are given a warm robe, slippers and access to showers, complimentary bath towels and bath rugs to lay on the floor while changing into your bathing suit.
My review doesn’t do this place much justice, you really have to come here and experience it for yourself.
