Came here around 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was a line but it moved fast. I ordered the combo special. It came with a bowl of soup and a half sandwich. I chose chicken pesto sandwich and tomato rice soup. Both of them were good. They don’t have a parking lot. Some parking spots in the neighborhood are permit only but you can find a meter parking on the street.

Food was pretty good but nothing too special. The location is always chaotic with customers and cars so get ready to be stuck in traffic and wait a long while for your food to come. Other than that it’s a cool experience if you’re coming from out of town since it’s so popular.

The coffee shop with a kick and terrible service. Pros: great food selection and above average tasting coffee. The desert options are also good. Really enjoy the Greek salad and kale salad as well the panini sandwiches. I normally order large lattes /Spanish or regular both are great. Also pro: open till 11pm. Cons: if ordering good food is what you only desire when you pay for coffee or above average desert or food than you may be ok. If you want actual descent service with on timely seating options and an onsite manager to address any issues stay away! This place has terrible customer service. The word doesn’t mean anything to them. It pains me to write this but it is the third time I have had very poor service no where to sit because of there policy of no sitting before order and also no one to complain to as the manager is also running around trying to catchup on 30 – 40 min wait times for coffee service. You basically only get a casual sorry if your upset for waiting 30 mins for coffee and also getting it cold. No excuses for such poor service, time and time again. I don’t often write negative reviews so when I do — I do mean it. They also don’t have wifi or electrical outlets and in fact get mad at you if you bring a laptop. Good luck to you if you try to visit any urth café… as all have same poor service and structure. Stay away — especially on weekends! Novelty: good food, cold coffee… terrible terrible service.

I was debating to try the new Alfred’s Tea room and Urth Caffe until i saw Alfred’s Boba Tea is $ 6+…Urth Caffe it is! Urth offers taste, cool ambiance, good service and good price at the same time. Great place to grab sweet/savories to go or have a sit down breakfast/lunch/dinner at their patio. The food is great. I ordered a Margherita Pizza($ 9.95) accompanying my food with their famous Organic Green Tea Boba over ice(3.95). Just wonderful! Urth’s Margherita Pizza’s was just mouth watering. The tomatoes added texture and sweetness while the basil provided the main flavors of this pizza. Altogether the toppings made a wonderful combination that made this pizza tasted like heaven! Hard crust on the outside, soft on the inside. I finally tasted the famous Organic Green Tea Boba over ice, and it was the BEST green tea i have ever had. Somehow they blend their green tea quite well compared to other green teas from your typical bubble tea shop… It’s not powdery ATALL! 5⁄5 stars. I had a wonderful experience at Urth Caffe and i don’t regret choosing this place over Alfred’s Tea.

FRESHFOOD, DECADENTDESSERTS, ANDGORGEOUSCUSTOMERS I love coming to lunch here when I am in Los Angeles! Located on trendy Melrose Avenue, Urth Caffé is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious lunch and visit with friends. There is always a line but it moves fast and the staff is very helpful in finding you a table. I ordered the Urth Farmer’s Salad, a blend of mixed greens with fennel, candied pecans, tomatoes, grilled artichokes, radishes, and shaved parmesan. Served on the side was a delicious fruit and nut bread. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and healthy. My only complaint was the salad needed more peppercorn dressing. Desserts are hard to resist, especially their pumpkin pie. It is not overly spiced and melts in your mouth. I have tried to replicate this dessert at home but the texture never turns out the same. Beware the serving size is ginormous, enough for two people to share. Urth Caffé has all of the elements for a successful restaurant: delicious food, friendly employees, comfortable atmosphere, ideal location, and reasonable prices(for this area). Also, another bonus is the great people watching. I swear all the customers look like models. Food: A Service: A Décor: B

Italian cappuccino with almond milk. No place makes it as good as them. If I could drink one everyday for the rest of my life I would never complain or be cranky when I wake up. Also for food. I’m not a fan of their Omelettes but the poached eggs hit the spot.

Arrived around 1:30PM on a Saturday and the place was packed! Note: Order first and then ask the hostess to find you a table. We’ve tried a lot of their drinks and dishes, and my favorite has to be the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. It’s so delicious! The ciabatta that it comes on it always so perfectly crunchy. The Tamales aren’t bad either — I get the chicken ones. They do lack a little bit of flavor, but that’s what the chipotle sauce is for! For drinks — of course the blended green tea with boba is a must, but also the spanish granita is delicious! Overall, great place to stop by for drinks and/or a meal. It does get busy, but it’s never too long of a wait.

I’m pretty much obsessed with the location of this Urth Caffè!! Not only because it’s the central hot spot in West Hollywood, but it’s always alive at any time of the day. I would 100% recommend sitting outside in order spot the celebs, and don’t settle for bad seating! Almost every time I’ve been, I’ve seen someone famous whether it was random LA models, Steven Kelley, the Dolan twins, Cameron Dallas, or Gregg Sulkin. Honestly loveee the drinks here especially their Spanish lattes which are to die for, and my all time favorite drink here which is the organic green tea boba blended! So bombbbb! Their food is also super yummy, especially their signature Urth Salad!

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast spots in LA. The chai tea is my absolute favorite. They offer anything you can think of, and provide many healthy options. Not to mention, everyone is super friendly at this particular location.

Idk I was so excited to try this place since I always see the celebrities posting about it. But I have to say I was disappointed. I got the green tea ice blended with boba and a blueberry cheesecake. The green tea kind of tasted like the Starbucks one. Nothing special. The boba was very disappointing. It felt dry. Idk how to explain it but I ended up having to take the boba out because I couldn’t stand it. I will say this, the cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Super creamy and definitely a taste of heaven. The place is small and crowed. So many people there and the service is pretty slow. I’m glad I got to try it because I was really curious to see what it was all about but I don’t think I’ll be returning. Wasn’t really worth it.

This place is pretty small and it was hard to find a place to sit. The plates were reasonably healthier than other restaurants. Even though they took a little while to serve our food, the waiter was concerned about our service. When the food was arrived, the presentation was pleasurable to the eye. I would come here again for their coffee!

Came to this location after having the best Japanese green tea latte on the S Hewitt st location. Was actually a bit disappointed that the latte here wasn’t as creamy or delicious than the other café. I came here around 11:30 am on a Saturday and it was pretty busy since everyone’s in line for brunch. Took us a while to get our coffees. Take note that there is a much shorter, nearly nonexistent line for to go items. The green tea latte I ordered wasn’t as creamy as the one I had in the other urth caffe location. I was also a bit disappointed in the slightly bitter after taste as well. Not sure if it was just super busy at that time so the barista might’ve done something wrong, but I was overall pretty disappointed in my drink.

Besides its popularity, there’s very little else special about Urth. Yes, it was shown many times in Entourage, but does anyone really just walk right up and get table service? Nope, it’s Hollywood Walking around looking at furniture, we stopped off for a coffee & dessert. There was a short line and it moved fairly quickly. Service by line coordinator & cashier were super friendly and efficient. We ordered a matcha tiramisu w/an Italian cappuccino, Italia style, aka dark roast. Seated in a cramped uneven area on an all metal chair, I wondered why this place is so popular. I’ve had food at most of their locations, and they’re good but not spectacular. The tiramisu took nearly 15 min. to be sliced, plated & brought out. Cappuccino took even longer. I silently agreed w/the table next to ours how everything was so slow. The dessert was rich & sweet w/unnoticeable matcha flavor. The cap helped cut through the sugar. All was a decent experience, people watching on a warm day. But nothing about this place will make me miss it.

I would be remiss to tell my fellow Unilocalers that this café doesn’t have wifi capabilities. Which coffee café establishment doesn’t have wifi? Really now come on. I came hear for their green latte and bread pudding breakfast. Too much to ask for cuz they were all out of that one dessert. Ordered the Oreo, circuitous cheesecake. Side from the soft cookie imbedded on top it was great. Green latte was also extraordinary as well. A café ought to treat me like a customer and not just some cattle to move. I paid 12 dollars and I demand wifi. It’s a fundamental given at like 99 percent of all cafes. What gall.

I walked here early on a Wednesday morning to grab a latte before I left town and it was the perfect experience. The café is small but there is more than enough seats scattered throughout the front and around the building. I quickly ordered a large honey vanilla latte and settled into a chair on the side of the street for some people watching. The server was very friendly and verified my order before placing it in front of me. Oh my god. A large is more like a cereal bowl of coffee! I could barely hold the cup in my hands, but I welcomed the challenge. It was luxuriously smooth and the sweetness didn’t reach overwhelming levels. I slowly sipped on it while watching traffic and working on a few things on my laptop. It was a serene experience and I can’t wait to return to try more of the menu at smaller sizes.

Urth Caffe(with its 6 locations including a DTLA headquarters) is another one of those spots that I’m last on the boat to try. Of course I have heard about each location and have even driven past them; but I don’t eat out much. I know… your jaw is dropped open to the floor. Relax, my friend. I finally tried the Melrose location of Urth Caffe(the second café to open in 1994). Was I impressed? Urth Caffe is located on a corner lot and before you can even THINK of dining here; you have to deal with pain in the ass parking. Unless you have a parking pass from living on the residential streets, you will likely have to pray to find a meter and fork up the change. Alas, once that stress is out of the way, you can make you way to Urth Caffe with its sort of Italian café meets earthy bungalow feel. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available but sadly the eatery is quite small. This isn’t helped by the constant stream of people so it is difficult to find a table(you can’t be picky), the volume is loud, and you are constantly rubbing elbows with people. In this sense, Urth Caffe is quite uncomfortable and lacks the zen calmness one expects from such a place. Offering teas, coffee(and coffee drinks), boba, desserts, and soups, salads, pizzas, breakfast foods, and sandwiches; Urth Caffe has a large counter where you place your order, grab a number and sip on fruit-infused complimentary water from coolers while you wait. It’s impressive that the order taker can hear you over the chatter as I could barely hear myself think. Service is efficient and fast: the employees don’t engage in friendly small talk or smiles but they can’t because the line is out the door. My Sunday dining partner and I ordered a Thai Red Tea Boba($ 4.95 blended) followed by a New Yorker Sandwich(A classic pastrami Rueben sandwich with Russian dressing, braised green cabbage, imported Swiss cheese on thick slices of marble bread. Served with a locally grown mixed greens salad and cornichon pickles — $ 13.95) and the new Wild Mushroom Pizza(Sautéed wild mushrooms, braised balsamic onions, mozzarella, burrata and truffle pecorino cheeses. Garnished with argula — $ 15.95). Our order arrived in a decent amount of time and the presentation was notable with lovely plating and an artistic feel. You will definitely feel like you are at a European café. Not to mention the large portions! Each plate can definitely feed two people so perhaps some family-style eating is in your future. How was the food? The Wild Mushroom Pizza was incredible! The flavors were not overpowering and yet had a distinct truffle-like essence mixed with a sweet caramelized tone. The crust was thin but not overly crispy(I like soft crusts). This is a winning dish for vegetarians. The New Yorker Sandwich was large and in charge with a thick serving of pastrami and again: not overpowering. My friend doesn’t like reubens with too much dressing and he said this was perfect. Please note that the bread has caraway seeds so if that isn’t your thing then ask for different bread. Also: his palte didn’t arrive with the pickles promised on the menu description. The Thai Boba was also exquisite. Perfectly blended, not to sweet, and with large boba balls. Bottom line? The food is pretty darn good and I would love to try their breakfast and brunch offerings. My final assessment for my first time trying Urth Caffe? Although the café is loud and clustered(so definitely not calming nor a place to bring a laptop or book); the food is terrific and the service is efficient even with the crazy pace. Urth Caffe is whole-heartedly recommended for the food but not necessarily the environment(they do take-out and catering, as well). Either way, it is a solid choice and not bad at all.

If not for the parking situation this place deserves a solid five stars. But when parking costs as much as it does for food that’s just offputting. Plus the wait here for food is kind of ehh. With that said the food is delicious. I had the panini el diablo which was truly a delight. It was a bit spicy that had a nice kick to it. The chicken was moist and juicy and overall everything was just great. The line moved along pretty fast. This place sounds like a good place for a lunch pickup granted I can find parking.

I have been to this location of Urth Caffe so many times. I experienced an average service almost every time but in my last visit, the service was below average and unprofessional. I ordered chicken sandwich to the lady who was getting ordered from people standing in the line; I asked her, I just want to make sure there is no dairy in this sandwich. She looked at it then she said: yes it does have mayonnaise and it’s a dairy product. I explained her that Mayo is not considered a dairy product, mayo is a mixed of primarily oil and egg yolks. She impolitely said: «if you are asking me then it is a dairy product and its up to you if you want to get it or not.» That was very unprofessional attitude. Hopefully the management after reading my review will educate their staff that«dairy refers to anything made from milk, like cheese, butter and yogurt not mayonnaise.» Anyway, move on from first disappointment. I ordered one extra food for To Go; and I mentioned a few times that one of the orders is To Go. Guess what!!! Yes, after mentioning a few times. The waiter brought the food to the table. It seems, they are too busy to care about their service. Customer service is very poor but the food is good. Hopefully they will improve their services.

LOVE Urth. It’s an LA cliché but it lives up to the hype. Good clean food and THEBEST lattes. The larges are the size of your head and will keep you going all day. My fav is their honey vanilla latte. It can get very crowded and the wait can be a bit long but service is friendly and fine. Try to get metered parking. If not, they usually have valet. All of the Urth caffes are such a scene so they tend to be great for people watching as well.

Melrose Ave is a great place to people watch and more than that, car watch. It’s also a place to come have brunch/lunch/tea at Urth. Yes, Urth is a must when in LA. You cannot escape it and you mustn’t. Place is always bustling but the tables get filled fast so you won’t be waiting for long. You order at the counter, get seated when a table is free and they bring you your food. Easy peezy! We had their breakfast pizzas, the infamous banana bread pudding and cappuccinos. Loved the food. The portions are right and I wish I could find that banana bread pudding somewhere here cuz it was the best banana something something I ever had! And that lil container of milk to pour in whenever you want! Yum! We need an Urth café on the east coast ASAP!!!

I honestly don’t know what I can say negatively about Urth on melrose! It’s such a perfect location. The service is amazing as well, the outside patio is great, the food is great and the vibe is great. It’s just so easy to come and pick something up on my way or sit down and chat with friends. I particularly like how the melrose location has a lot of outdoor seating because people are mingling while they eat and are friendly. The vibe is really casual and trendy at the melrose location, people are there with workout clothes or with the latest edgy trend and it’s so nice to people watch. The people are way more diverse at the melrose location than the Beverly Hills location. The pulse is fun and upbeat. Highly recommend for lunch!

My man gets so annoyed that I love this place because a celebrity mentioned they love this place! Nothing to do with that. It’s genuinely sooooo good here. The line is really long, out the door onto the patio, but with the good weather and the line continuously moving it wasn’t all too bad. I checked out the menu while waiting in line to keep anyone from getting annoyed to have to wait for my decision. I decided to get their caprese sandwich which comes with mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, basil, balsamic vinegarette and I added prosciutto to it. I also upgraded to a side of fresh fruit for additional $ 3. Let me tell you it was worth it! I forgot what sandwich the Mr. ordered but we also shared the Pizza Catona which came with prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. I think you can see my craving pattern. The caprese sandwich is very fresh and tasted good but I think the balsamic reduction stuck out to much for me, way too strong. I didn’t eat the second half of it. It was a really good sandwich but I wasn’t in the mood for it. The side fruit quickly made up for that. They were thin slices of melon and it tasted freshly cut. You know when you order fruit and it tastes preserved? This was nothing like that! So wholesome! The pizza was everything I wanted and more! The mozzarella was so fresh and wasn’t baked with the pizza… It was placed on top it and each ball was wrapped in prosciutto. The heat of the pizza warmed up the mozzarella and the moment you bite into it it immediately would melt in your mouth!!! As I’m writing this it brings food bliss memories and I am now changing the rating to 5 stars instead of 4! The food is extremely fresh here and although the sandwich was ok I felt it was more a poor choice on my part and not fully reading the description. This place is amazing and I can’t wait to get a hold of that pizza again!

Meh, quality has gone down quite a bit in my opinion. I can’t say because it’s over hyped because as far as I remember it was always over hyped lol cheese tamales are pretty good from what I remember, but do not get the tofu rice sushi type thing(it’s really flavorless and the plum sauce is too strong). Honestly my favorite thing to do when I come here is just order an almond milk latte, get the side salad(mm the dressing), and add a piece of baguette. Perfection. Also the vegan chocolate cake it pretty amazing, my friend said its the best chocolate cake she’s ever had in general and she’s not vegan. Lol

How can you not like Urth? They have delicious food and reasonable prices, and it’s a happening place in West hollywood. You’re not going to find easy parking and it’s going to be crowded. Go to the one in Pasadena if you’re going to be a diva about the location. If you get boba tea, definitely try to get the«for here» cups because it seems like you get about half again as much more.

The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because it is always insanely crowded and parking is atrocious. But parking and business aside, the food and drinks are great in my book. I’ve been to the Urth Caffe in downtown and santa monica, and there food and drink quality and taste seem to remain pretty steady throughout their locations. I love their green tea boba, over ice, as well as their matcha latte. Foodwise, I pretty much love everything on their menu. Salads are great, fruit and cheese plate is a favorite, pizza is great, sprout sandwich is another fav., the list is endless. Dessert wise, I love their blueberry cheesecake and green tea tiramisu the most, but you can’t really go wrong, they’re all delicious. Be prepared to search for parking if you want to come here. I’d give up hope of parking close, the neighborhoods surrounding are all permitted so it gets tricky. Just drive up and down Melrose and you’re bound to find something, you just may have to walk a bit. Celebrities come here a lot, too if any of you are hoping for an encounter. I saw Paul Wesley and A$AP Rocky, both on the same day, and Karrueche on another. Overall, I’d say it’s worth going to if you’re in the city.

Chicken pesto sandwich on gluten free bread is terrible. Both the chicken and bread was DRY. I’ve had good gluten free bread before but you guys don’t know how to make it. Top of chicken was both hard and dry, not cooked well at all. No dressing for salad; why is everything DRY. Service is whatever. I finished my meal and though the staff looked over a few times, no one took my plate away as I finished up my drink. They had the time to do it but just didn’t want to. Nobody asked if I needed anything. There were some empty tables outside around 6:15 pm.

Came by since it seems to be so popular on social media and whatnot. It was busy busy. Picked up two menus didn’t know which I wanted lunch or breakfast. Ordered a large Italian Cappuccino And Turkey panini The cappuccino was beautiful to look at but it was cold and way to bitter for it be a «light» The panini was just basic thick slices of turkey maybe some cheese on a olive bread. Salad was good. Maybe I’ll have to go when it’s less busy to really get a feel for this place.

Spanish Latte… I order it every time I go and I crave it often. It is incredibly smooth and creamy and warm with the right amount of spice, condensed milk and foam. It’s a little on the sweet side but not as bad as the popular chains that most people choose for coffee. There is no comparison. Urth Caffe serves only organic coffees from around the world and if you’re into quality, you can taste it with each sip. Order it in a ceramic coffee mug rather than a paper to go cup. The difference is significant… A few other menu items that are worth a try: The Pumpkin Pie. I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin pie normally, but this one is insane. Mocha Mint Latte. Yeah, it’s just like it sounds. A unique treat. African Tea Latte. It’s different, but creamy and sweet and a nice change of pace. Urth Pot Roast Sandwich. It ain’t cheap or pretty, but damn it tastes good with that creamed horseradish! Urth Quesadilla. Love the guacamole and salsa! Tre Latti. 4 layers of cake, cream and caramel… need I say more? Green Tea Boba! Matcha Green Tea Muffin. 3 Layer Cheesecake. Pecan Scone. Now, I gave Urth Caffe 5 stars because I love the Spanish Latte and some of the baked goods almost as much as life itself, but to be fair, some of the menu items are not as impressive and definitely not worth the price or the long wait in line. With that, I promise I’ll be there once each weekend to get my fix. Enjoy!

I may be biased as a Santa Monica native, but the Urth Caffé there is so much better. People mostly come to the WeHo one if you’re a tourist or want to see a celebrity. Like most places in WeHo, there is basically no parking — they don’t have a lot and most of the metered spots tend to be taken. This place is always packed(even at night) because their teas and cakes are so good! I recommend getting their Divine Chai Latte and tiramisu. You order first, pay, grab a number, then go to the hostess to be put on the list for a table. The service was honestly not that great. The table was dirty and has frosting sticky stuff all over it when they sat us. They served the tea without the cups(when we even asked for 3 for the group!) Then the server came out and said the cake that we had ordered(because we saw it in their bakery) was«out.» We ended up getting another one and waited for the cups but normally it’s a better experience.

Bizarre and interesting dining experience. First of all you walk in and have to order and pay at counter. That’s cool. You get given your order number to take for your table. Again fine. But then instead of letting you go find your own table you have to wait for someone to seat you. Why not do this at the beginning!!! Why not take my order at my table then!!! Seems like a waste of time for everyone. Food was delicious and the vanilla latte was great(super sweet) but it felt like we where there for ages. All our meals came at different times because we had to order and pay separately(???) and they wouldn’t put us all on the same table number(!!!). Had to ask 5 times for more maple syrup because waiters were busy and confused with the different table numbers on everyone’s tables. Great food but the annoying and confusing way to order wasn’t really worth it

This review is long overdue. I had lunch in here a few months ago, the food was mediocre at best, compared to other Urth Caffes, the service was fine. the whole experience was nothing special. I work very close to here so as I was walking back to work I realized I had left my water bottle there. As soon as I got back to the office I called them to ask them to hold on to it for me and was told that they didn’t have it. I asked if they could check and was put on hold for 5 minutes until the manager came on the line and told me that I was welcome to come look for it in the TRASH. I decided that day that I would never go back. But then today a friend brought me a latte from here and it was cold, and disgusting. This place is not what I think of when I think Urth Caffe.

You would think this place would be teeming with hipsters, health nuts, and generally annoying LA stereotypes. Well, it is, but that’s besides the point. Their food is always fresh, their portions always generous, and their staff is always friendly, and very hardworking. Tried their Moroccan Green Tea Latte, and I dug it. Very nice flavors, and it wasn’t too sweet at all. Have eaten various pasties, as well, and have never been disappointed. Whether you order a salad, a sandwich, or a latte, you’ll walk out satisfied. And a little more LA.

Multitude of options, lively atmosphere, and fresh ingredients are some of the defining factors of Urth Caffe. From their drinks to their food, Urth is always consistent. At ANY given time of the day, they are incredibly busy and packed. Literally, at ANY given time. I’ve been there early in the morning, in the afternoon, and late at night, the volume of people never changes. Not to mention their pastries, which taste amazing and have perfect presentation. Excellent for just about everything from breakfast, to pastries, to lunch and dinner. My own critique is this location needs to revive the tortilla soup! It was so amazing and I never find it on their list of soups anymore!

I decided to stop by because this was the closest location to my place. I’ve been to the Santa Monica and the Downtown Location many times, but this was my first time at this location. I was craving their tiramisu’s because they are just addicting and I haven’t had one in a little over a year. I thought it was nice to treat myself to one. Drove over there and parking wasn’t too bad. I got lucky and parked about half a block away, meter. It wasn’t too packed on a Thursday mid afternoon. I was able to order right when I walked in, it was loud and hectic as usual with every urth caffe unless you come right when they open in the morning. I ordered the Panini Prosciutto Di Parma. I heard so many good things about it, so I wanted to give it a try. It comes with a side salad as well and it’s a pretty reasonable size. I ate half and got full. I was really disappointed because it was REALLY salty. I’m not a person who likes a lot of sodium in their food, but god. I felt like I was literally eating a piece of bread with salt in between. It was good, but I’m pretty sure Prosciutto isn’t as salty. Probably not going to bother finishing the other half. Ordered two tiramisu’s to go! Since I rarely have the time/opportunity to stop by. I wanted to take it to go and save it for the next few days or so. I had to repeat these two ordered 3 times to the cashier. It was nerve wrecking because she couldn’t get it right, even when I somewhat yelled it to her so that she could hear me. WHICH. They completely forgot to give me them. They gave me my sandwich first and the guy behind the counter asked me if I was the one who ordered the two cakes. I said yes and I didn’t even get it -.- really. and 10 minutes later when I showed one of the workers my receipt, they sent someone to go get it. AND they only brought back one. when my receipt clearly showed two. So, i had to walk back and tell them AGAIN. then they finally got it right. I mean, I am a patient person. Don’t get me wrong, but when someone literally asks me if I ordered something and I say yes. Look right at them. Then I don’t even get my food. That makes no sense to me. I understand it’s quite busy, but they need to have better service. I got an apology, that’s pretty much it. Something that could’ve taken a simple 10 minute order, pick up, and go. Ended up taking about 35 minutes. I think I’ll stick to the other locations even though they are further. I don’t mind when it comes to having reasonable service.

This is the third Urth Caffe I have been to. I have also been to the Santa Monica and Beverly Hills location. I came here with my boyfriend to meet up with two of this friends for brunch. I ordered thai red tea boba with prosciutto & cheese breakfast panini. He ordered a strong latte with Italian omelette. We of coursed shared our food with each other so we can have 2 dishes instead of just one. We came here around 10am and after ordering found a seat easily. This place was a little more calm compare to the other location. The other locations it was very hard to find a seat after ordering. Parking here can be a pain since there are limited free parking area(2 hours) but plenty of meter parking. Read the signs before you park since a street can have 3 – 4 signs hanging up! Basically a small time frame of when you can actually park. I think the price is pretty ok. It is around $ 10 for a dish roughly. I had leftovers since I don’t eat much, but if you are super hungers you probably won’t.

I didn’t understand the hype about Urth! Sure it’s got that clean-eats, patio friendly, people-watching vibe, but the lunch fell short for me in terms of the food. Came here on a weekday lunch during my travels and there was no wait time at all! Upon entering you’re greeted in a friendly manner by their«hostess» who hands you a menu and asks you to stand aside until you’re ready to order. They have an extensive menu, but I went with a egg white healthy panini with spinach.(My LA-resident friend told me to get their pizzas… oops). I also got a thai tea boba because I heard it’s good. Both choices weren’t spectacular :\ SERVICE definitely deserves 5 stars. From the smiles, efficiency, and quick busser boys… that all got my A+ stamp of approval. However, my panini didn’t have much flavor, and the tomato-marinara/pasta-y sauce did NOT match with the panini at all. I was confused as to why it was included on the side. Is marinara a universal sauce now? My friend also had that same red sauce in her burrito dish too… strange. The boba itself wasn’t good. I’ve had thousand times better boba in NorCal, and that just goes to show that this $ 4 boba was overrated! The pearls didn’t hit that sweet spot of chewiness and softness… it was too hard and had less«stickyness» than I liked. The tea was a bit sweet(wish I could adjust the levels), but the flavor was good… can’t argue with that. This spot is ideal for people-watchers, dates, and brunches. There are flies buzzing around in the indoor seating, so I suggest sitting outside in their multiple patio seating areas. I would advise against coming here with a big party because the chances of you finding seating(unless it’s on a weekday) are slim to none for your group. In all, I think Urth is overhyped but LA basics are still going to come here regardless.

Not sure what the rave is about. Coffee was a typical dark roast — none of the more interesting floral notes of a lighter roast. Folks are more into their sweet milky lattes than coffee here. The prosciutto egg cheese panini(which I chose because of the little crown next to it– don’t be fooled!) was served on a nice country bread but was generally a bit salty and lacked flavor(I thought there was supposed to be an olive spread?). Similarly there was nothing special about the bread pudding and matcha latte everyone raves about. Bread pudding was frankly a bit on the stale and bland side. The bacon leek quiche was probably the most decent of the bunch– nice complementing flavors with a good egg and crust texture. As for ambience– again, not sure what folks are raving about here. With the construction, the small space, and generic décor, Urth feels like a more cramped Panera. Service was generally good and quick, bathroom was clean. Glad we came on a random weekday– definitely would not wait in line for this one!

Once upon a time, during undergrad, I used to come here with friends and get wired on lattes. To reminisce on the good old days, I came here to get a mocha. This place is as busy as I remember it to be, and the mocha was phenomenal. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but luckily I found parking along Melrose at a meter. The line was somewhat long, and it took about 15 minutes to get my order through. It took another 5 minutes to receive my mocha. The staff was very friendly, and so were the patrons. Everything was moving efficiently, which is impressive considering that it was very packed inside. For the good service, I tipped well, and I will be coming back here.
