Arthur did a fantastic job with my husband’s expensive belt and always does a great job fixing shoes for both of us! He knows his craft and does a great job. It’s not always worth fixing old shoes but when it is he’s your man! Highly highly recommended.

Unfortunately didn’t have a good experience in this place. He probably does an ok job if he understands what a customer asks for. When I came to pick up my shoes the job was not complete and after negotiations he said what I was asking for, costs twice as much — $ 50 in total. Well the shoes costed me $ 50, not worth it. Wasted a few hours of my life. should have gone to my regular place in Korea town.

Horrible service! the owner was rude! He was going to charge me $ 25 a shoe! Though one of them only needed to be glued apparently… This guy is a joke, he told me its be impossible to match the color of the bottom of my shoes, guess what, guy on highland was able to. I would not recommend him to anyone, he’ll over charge you, make your shoes look funny, and will be rude to you.

I have been to a few shoe repair shops here in LA and this has been the best. I needed a dance shoe repaired and asked my boyfriend to check a few shops. He was told by other cobblers that they could not fix a dance shoe. When he got here the gentleman was patient, kind and accommodating. My boyfriend said he was impressed at how helpful this guy was. Even if it’s a difficult fix he still gives options and friendly advice. I will definitely go back here.

I never thought I could clean the wax of my black suede pumps but this guy did it!!! Googled everything and went to few repair stores and it was pretty expensive to pay $ 45 for $ 60 worth shoes so I decided to pursue online the same pair of shoes. Unfortunately they didn’t have any left, nor similar so took the shot with Star shoe since I didn’t check them yet. The price was $ 25 and had to wait for one week. I was a bit sceptic but accepted any work and any time to take time and remove that nasty wax. A week later, went back and almost cried out of happiness that my pumps look good as new without any stain mark left! The process was long but detailed and excellent in the end! I even hugged the guy for working magic on my shoes! That’s why I am writing this now and giving it the MAX 5 stars!

Superb Craftsmanship! This gentleman/​owner really takes pride in his job and always has a smile on his face every time I see him! It is really refreshing to see such a great work ethic and he is the nicest guy. His prices are so cheap. It’s cash only. And a parking Tip: go after 9 am and before 4pm so you can park on the street literally right in front of his store. In and out easy. He is always open. even on Saturdays. Great place!

Excellent craftsmanship and repairs are done here. It looks like a shop forgotten by time, however, the craftsman knows his work! Yes, he accepts cash only. Just get over that little thing and you’ll be fine. He’s very thorough in his work and extremely nice. I’ve taken 2 pairs of my shoes, and one of my grandmother’s to get assessed and repaired and am very happy with the results. He takes the time to explain why something needs to be done and I always appreciate that. His prices are fair and I’m so happy this shop exists. Glad to support this small business owner.

What a hidden gem! The gentleman who runs this place is adorable, friendly and accommodating. I’ve had multiple shoes repaired and watch bands repaired. He does a fantastic job, I haven’t been disappointed once.

He performs his work beautifully and makes you feel like you’re the most important client he ever had. The shop itself is a true small business, American style. Not pretty but gets the job done & done well.

I was so impressed with Star Shoe Repair and Arthur’s work that I had to write a review.
I brought in a pair of rag & bone leather wedge boots and the bottoms were shot to hell. I had worn through the heel and started damaging the wood :/​They now look better than when I purchased them. The BEST and CHEAPEST shoe repair that I have found maybe EVER.
FYI: Arthur only takes cash and he’s old school. AKA he really takes pride in his craftmanship and it shows.
Arthur saved my little shoes and conditioned the leather for the price of $ 23 !!
Simply wonderful.

AMAZING WORK! Hands down, Arthur totally impressed me. I have only had shoes repaired one or two other times off Montana Ave so when my favorite pair of heels got caught in a floor, I relied on Unilocal to help me find a Shoe repair professional in my neighborhood of West Hollywood. Enter Star Shoe Repair and the rest is a happy history! My shoes look brand new and I will definitely be returning to Star Shoe Repair again.

Not too good with the English, but he does such nice work it doesn’t matter. My purple boots were water stained terribly. Unwearable! For only 25 dollars, it was like having a new pair of boots, in just a couple of days. Nice guy too. Check out Star, right in the neighborhood.

I’m amazed. Check out the before/​after picture. These favorite shoes were a goner, and Arthur saved them, rejuvenated their dry scuffed leather. I’m in awe of his attention to detail, like stitching a fine leather patch over edge of the shoe hopelessly frayed over time by my heel going into the shoe. Who thinks of stuff like that? Arthur does. That’s why I’ll keep going to him. By the way, he’s open till 6 p.m. now.
