Dr. Smith is a lifelong native of Southern California. After earning his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his DDS from the prestigious Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at San Francisco’s University of the Pacific, he completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Oregon in Portland…

I am coming up on forty years in the private practice of pediatric dentistry. Through those years and the special relationships I have developed with thousands of young people, my life has been enriched and rewarded to a far greater measure than I could have imagined when entering the profession. I’m a dentist and I have always found satisfaction in providing the technical service of making mouths healthy and strong. But I can never overstate the satisfaction of watching as infants turn to school age children and then in a blink they’re off to college. All along the way, I am amazed at the personalities and temperaments that unfold.

Sometimes, I think I’m as much teacher as dentist. Not that it is my purpose to teach the three r’s, but I am able to pass along a small element of character and humor and hopefully make my patients’ lives, as well as their mouths, a little better.
