Founded in 2005, by husband and wife duo, Chris and Heather Detert, American Rebel PR specializes in entertainment and lifestyle public relations. Chris Detert, former VP of marketing/​PR for internationally renowned fashion brand, Von Dutch Originals, helped to revolutionize the way that brands marketed products through the power of celebrities. With A-​list celebrity product placements and innovative guerilla marketing tactics, Detert helped catapult Von Dutch from a niche motorcycle and car culture brand into a $ 70 million fashion phenomenon, at its peak.
Detert started American Rebel PR with the concept of creating a company that could service the entertainment marketing and public relations needs of brands through print media, television placements, web integration, special events and product placement on celebrities. In 2007 and 2008, American Rebel PR was selected to be the PR firm for the Entertainment Tonight/​Getty Images/​Gibson Guitar Lounge, at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2009, American Rebel PR created a partnership with client, English Laundry and Stone Temple Pilots front man, Scott Weiland, for a fashion line collaboration called Weiland for English Laundry. American Rebel PR produced a 5-​city tour for the launch of the line, which included stops in LA, New York, Miami, Chicago, and Las Vegas.
