Business Owner

Jirka (pronounced Yirka) is the current president of Abacus IT, Inc.

Originally from the Czech Republic, Jirka moved to the United States in 1998. Having always been interested in computers and technology, Jirka found himself helping people with their computer needs and problems here in the US as well. In 2002, he opened his own computer company, Computer Czech, LLC., in West Hollywood, focusing on computer repair and servicing to the local community. Over the years, Jirka has established himself as an expert in the field of technology and has accumulated a long list of satisfied clients throughout Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. As one of his long time clients wrote, «Jirka has the gift!»

Computers can be one of our best friends when they’re working, but when they’re not, Life can be incredibly frustrating.
I have an Apple laptop with Microsoft Outlook installed. Not necessarily a good combination. Unfortunately, my Outlook decided to not launch thereby making me almost dead in the water with regard to my work as all my client contacts, emails, etc. are on Outlook. Since the Apple Genius Bar is not thoroughly adept at Microsoft issues they said I had to talk to Microsoft. After several hours (two days actually) of Microsoft remote accessing my computer to try to fix the issue, they ended up only making matters worse and then had to say that they only knew so much about Apple products. Ugh!
Thankfully, Jirka and his Team (a BIG shout out to Kurtis and Ben) fixed everything as they always do and now my computer is running better than ever. Why I didn’t go to them in the first place is beyond me as they have helped me many times in the past. Note to self: Only go to Abacus IT for any computer issues moving forward.
I highly recommend Abacus IT for any/​all technical issues you may have. Not only are they incredibly affordable, but they are kind, gracious, and understanding when you feel helpless without your computer to make the day go as its should.
If I could give Abacus IT 100 Stars I would. Thank you!

Jirka and his company have done a great job maintaining our company’s computers and telephone system. Whenever we need to add new equipment or technology, Jirka will know exactly what we need and how to install it. He does both hardware and software, and he also handles all the maintenance. Whenever we have a problem, we simply call and Jirka responds in short order. We are very pleased with the service and the prices are reasonable.
Abacus IT is a reliable vendor for us and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants outside IT support.

The hard drive on my Macbook was beginning to fail and I was concerned with losing years of pictures and movies stored on it. After a quick internet search, Abacus IT came up as a good local option.
I could not be happier with their service! Very easy to work with, walked me through my options, completed all of the work efficiently and were overall a pleasure to deal with. They also likely saved me quite a bit of money as my initial consultation with the Apple Store led me to believe the fix would be nearly 3 times what Abacus charged. Great people all around, fair pricing and extremely competent.

These guys have it down. I was in and out within 15 minutes with an excellent price (I won’t tell here) plus they have terrific customer service and smiles to boot.
I called around to a bunch of places asking to have my 5C shattered screen replaced and got a number of outrageous prices including The Apple Store’s, which was a ridiculously high $ 269. Abacus came in way below that we’re professional and no-​nonsense. Don’t miss if your screen needs replacing.

The fastest, nicest, and easiest to work with Computer repair shop in town. I have brought my old laptop in multiple times convinced it was doomed and needing replaced. Each time after a few hours they had it back and running in great condition.
They are very affordable, trustworthy, and a great local shop.

I started using Abacus It after being referred by a colleague. I had them out to my place several times and dealt with at least three different service men in total. The first guy was okay, the second guy Robert, while very «nice» was always promising things were finished/​fixed when they weren’t and often promised to «log in remotely» and fix something that he left unfinished and then just didn’t. The last time I text messaged Robert to find out why he never completed the items he promised, I received a reply from someone else who said Robert was no longer with the company. Great. :(
I paid AGAIN for Vince to come out and deal with the problems that I already paid several hours for Robert to resolve. I paid the latest bill but never felt good about it, especially because one of the items I previously paid to have Robert set up was a LaCIE back up system. Vince told me that it had NEVER backed up once since I had it.
I emailed the company about my unhappy situation and requested some kind of credit be applied to my account. After more than 30 days I never received so much as a reply.
This week I emailed the company again. The owner told me
«Since Robert doesn’t work for us anymore I am not able to ask him about this issue so we can offer you 10% discount for the next service call.»
You can guess the likelihood of me cashing in on that less than awesome offer.
Overall I need someone reliable who does what they say they will and doesn’t blame me when their flaky employees do a bad job. This unfortunately is not that company.

Laptop is acting up… hard drive is whining and working over-​time. Read nice Unilocal reviews and take it over to Abacus IT. Corey spends a couple of days diagnosing and determines that the issue is not in the hard drive but a failing transistor in the motherboard. Recommends that we get as much use as we can out of the laptop and be prepared to replace it when it fails at some point down the line. Keeps us in the loop, does not try to sell us unnecessary services, refuses to charge us for his time and efforts and is a nice guy to boot.

Have used Abacus IT for a long time, and can’t say enough good things, especially about Jirka. He is so knowledgeable, and is just about the only person I’ve been able to find that can successfully network MACs and PCs. I used him for my home network and now my law office network. Flawless. Awesome! Thanks to other Unilocal reviewers, I selected Abacus to make a house call to my elderly parents’ ailing computer, since I live on the opposite coast and couldn’t do it myself. They were prompt, cheerful, helpful and professional, and they removed a very nasty virus that I couldn’t have fixed even if I had been nearby. I am totally impressed, and would use them myself if it weren’t such a long commute from Boston!
