Julien The Handyman

Julien came to the rescue a year ago after the first handyman we hired screwed up our bathroom remodel. We wish we had found him earlier! We found him on Angie’s List where he also scores very high. Then by coincidence, we later came to find out that he has a lot of clients in our neighborhood in Calabasas. He and his team fixed and finished the whole bathroom project, helped to repair the damages the previous guy had left behind for us, and completed some extra projects for us to boot. Since then, he’s been our go to on several projects– from window repair, to deck/​stair rebuild, to painting, you name it.
I love Julien and his team for a number of reasons– the calendaring and office staff are super professional, organized, and on point. He always shows up on time and is prepared with any pre-​materials needed. There is never any unexplained revisions to the work needing to be done, or to the pricing, unless it is reasonable. His pricing is very competitive, and his quoting on the time the projects will be completed are also always on point. The completed work is always impeccable. He’s also very smart in coming up with ideas to fix unique projects that may come up. I love dealing with him.
Julien is the best and we highly highly recommend he and his company. We are thankful for him!

I’m not a DIY kind of person, and since my divorce, I’ve tried several handymen. Julien was by far the best! He charged a fair price, was professional, thorough, clean, and stayed until the job was done to BOTH of our satisfaction. That may sound like a given, but a «simple» fan installation turned into a 4+ hour job! The house hadn’t been wired correctly (no boxes in the attic), so he installed them and then the fans. Then, as he was showing me the end result, one of the fans broke! He waited while I ran to Home Depot (before they closed at 9 pm on a Friday night) to get a replacement and then installed the new one, making sure it worked perfectly before leaving. He didn’t finish until 10 pm! And he was leaving for Paris the next morning! He was fantastic! I’ll definitely use him for any future home repairs or installations.

I just moved into a home that required several improvements. Too small for a contractor but too big for my patience level and skills. Julien and team was quick to respond and had very fair prices. The team did some demo work and installed new closet sliding doors. A few things that standout and why I recommend Julien: next day line item quotes, leaves a clean work area, friendly scheduling, attentive team focused on details, and high quality work. My next Julien project is closet organizer installs. I’ve put Julien on my speed dial!

Julien has done several projects for us from floor repair to lamp installation. He was professional, on time, reasonable price, and would always clean the debris after work. If we have another handyman projects in the future most likely he will be the one we call again. I strongly recommend him for anyone who looks for a reliable handyman.

Julien redid our bathroom,(which we comment to ourselves about frequently), he tiled our exterior front steps and did a substantial amount of drywall work for us. When things were at times not what we expected (which is just part of explaining your vision to someone else) he was quick to fix things and make it right. He is fair and honest. He even refunded us money at one point when we couldn’t work something out. I recommend him.

After enduring the pain of a large scale home renovation project that felt unending, I feel I need to let people know which were the great contractors/​handymen and which were the nightmares I worked with. Well, Julien was one of the great ones. I found him on Unilocal and was initially feeling nervous about what I was going to get, after many slick talking/​little action folks who had walked through my door. Julien was responsible, always on time, and true to his word. He is very hardworking – doesn’t clock out at 5 or take long lunch breaks, or chat on the job with other people working on the house. Julien worked on 4 of my bathrooms – completely redid them to my specifications – converted an old, ugly bathtub into a shiny, new beautifully tiled shower, did his own demo on all four in one day, installed new flooring, new vanities, new lighting, and so much more. The bathrooms look beautiful. He is meticulous and a perfectionist. Out of all the contractors I worked with, he was the one I didn’t feel I needed to micromanage, because he always got it right. He also communicated with me before changing something big or when there was a surprise problem. Julien also worked on several handyman jobs around my house before starting the bathroom renos. His prices were reasonable and his work was clean and sharp. He’s also a good person, honest and nice. I will certainly work with him again.
