We didn’t come for the Chinese food — we came for the fried chicken plate lunch! It’s surprising, but August Moon is more well known for their«American» food than they are for their Asian dishes, even though they are owned and run by a Chinese family. We went on a Saturday with the plan of ordering the plate lunch, but found when we arrived that they only serve plate lunches during the week. Never fear, they have a friend chicken dinner on their menu. It comes with a salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll, and you can pick white or dark meat for the chicken. Mine was apparently really, really good, because my plate was empty before I realized what had happened. The salad is essentially iceberg lettuce with diced tomatoes on top, but everything else was really good. I sort of needed a nap afterwards though. The ambiance score here is zero, so bring some friends to give you something nice to look at.
