Just left Michael Angelo’s and will never ever ever spend a red cent in that place . Waited for twenty minutes for my order . Now it’s time to pay and hand the lady my Amex . Only to hear«we don’t take this« “Oh, Mike is gonna kill me « She then takes the food off the counter . Storms away leaving me at the counter like I’m an asshole . Nice way to make a customer feel !

Awesome Awesome pizza as always. The counter was a little frantic, seems like they had a ton of business that day, but that’s a good sign in my book. I had a white pizza with garlic, fresh tomato, and basil — easily one of the best places to grab a pie in New Haven county, and that’s saying something!

Even before they burned down my parents used to come here. After the rebuilt the food tasted just as good. Only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that I waited 45 mins for a stuffed bread. The cashier told us that’s usually how long they are. Still would go back again easily.

They were super busy on Saturday but we still were able to get a table and enjoy. I ordered two mini spinach and cheese Stromboli rolls, garlic knots, a sausage and mushroom pizza, and a eggplant parm wedge. Everything was delicious and fresh! My new stomping grounds ;-)

Have yet to be disappointed with a pizza or grinder from here. Though I should try other things on the menu as well to fill the palate. You will not be disappointed with this place unless you have horrible taste!

This place is take-out with a few tables, but absolutely no ambiance. However, who cares because the food is amazing with a capital ZING! I’ve had pizza, hot subs, desserts and it’s all been tasty and fresh. Order ahead and expect to wait a few minutes. They are always hoping with regulars/locals.

My friends and I had gone camping at a local site and hadn’t planned our food properly, so we rolled into town starving. Unilocal helped us find this joint and we headed over. It looked packed inside but there was plenty of space for three folks and one person in a wheelchair. The line went super fast and they had tons of options! I went basic with some plain pizza and man, it was amazing! Fast service, great people? Check it out.

my favorite pizza in the area. no lines like Pepe’s, Sally’s, or Modern and just as good(if not better). Pizza is well worth the money you’ll spend at a place that looks like a takeout joint. Great chicken parmigian also.

This is the second time that I’ve had food from here and both were great. The cheese pizza is delish. I enjoyed the crust as it was not too thin or thick. I also tasted the chicken parm grinder and that was really tasty. The bread they use is really fresh tasting and just crunchy enough for the sandwich. The only downside is they don’t deliver. Most definitely not a deal breaker… just me being lazy.

I think this place has the best variety of real Italian food. Not just merely a place that sells pizza. I love their large varieties of stuffed breads. Their food are«just came out the oven» fresh. Plenty of seats to eat in. The displays are very inviting! There’s only one this though, they don’t deliver, I wish they change their mind soon and start to deliver. Real italian food delivered to your home would be a perfect combination…

Just as good as the big 3. Love this place, I go here all the time. It’s more convenient to get to than Wooster Street, and the pizza is just ridiculous. I’ve been going here since before they burned down(since been fully rebuilt). Long live Michaelangelo’s.

Still my favorite place to go for pizza in the area. Bacon and garlic pizza is the best. Its a drive to get there so we do it occasionally but its worth it every time!

Fantastic pizza, subs, and dinners. The breads they have for sale are made on premises and are delicious. Prices are a little higher than other places in the area, service can be spotty at times.

Oh boy, how did I not know about this place sooner?! Stellar. Stellar. Stellar. Zero ambience but the real authentic Italian food, pizza and pastries are enough to drive out of your way to find. Stuffed breads are incredible here. We opted for the eggplant parmigiano bread, which was beyond satiating. Great variety of pizza slices are available too. Run, don’t walk…

Consistently great pizza! We enjoy pizza on a weekly basis and try out all of the different local places around New Haven. Michaelangelo remains as one of our very favorite places for pizza. Other places will occasionally dip in quality depending on who is in the kitchen, but Michaelangelo is always good. Crust is very good, and the sauce reminds me of the old«Bimonte’s» pizza place in Hamden. Taking a bite at Michelangelo was like a blast from the past in the best way possible! Garlic knots are a nice side if you really like garlic. Lots of other items that we haven’t tried yet, but they look good. Foxon Park soda is a good match. They can be busy of course, but order ahead and you should be fine.

Right along Route 34, you find this place that is a great option for a low key Italian sandwich, stuffed bread, pizza, amongst some other options. A friend of mine, has been here several times previously and suggested that we eat here. There are a handful of small booths for eating here, while they also do a steady business of take-out. We both opted to order sandwiches, one was a veal parm, the other was an Italian combo. Both of them were very tasty, although a little smaller than I would have expected. Particularly since their prices are a bit high. But all in all, this is a very good spot to grab some food and maybe a cannoli too.

Delicioso! You would never know by driving by, that inside this mostly takeout pizza joint is an amazing product. Pizza absolutely rocks and I had homemade meatballs with homemade gravy that rivals anybody’s! National treasure for people who really appreciate great pie and meatballs. MUCHMUCH better than Sally’s or Pepe’s. Modern Apizza is equal in the pizza department. The meatballs and sauce will make me go back someday.

One of the best pizzas in the area. It has withstood the test of time — been going there ever since I was in elementary school and the pizza has always tasted excellent. I’ve also had their made to order pasta dishes and it was pretty good for take out. However what makes this place great is their stuffed breads!!! I’ve had all of them but my favorite is the tomato/eggplant– yummmm. I’d eat that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just a tip: make sure to order ahead on a Friday night after 5 because that place gets packed!

For a carry out pizza establishment, this place is great! Lots of Italian entrees as well as pizza, calzones, etc. I’ve only had the pizza and eggplant parmesan sub which are delicious! Their cookies are so good.

They have good food but the 5 stars is for the bread. A solid favorite amongst my group of friends on trips where we’ll consume 2 – 3 large loaves. Not in the mood for Italian? Grab some bread here after you eat at Daiko across the street.
