It is always hard to find an honest and reliable garage. I have been going to south st auto for over 20 years… I would not trust any one else with mine or my kids cars. There prices are fair and they do a great job in reasonable time

Very pleased. We are new to West Hartford so we don’t yet have a local auto service shop. I was able to get in and out on the day I first called for brake work on our 2008 Honda. The labor cost was a little higher than I expected, but the work was done quickly, they were professional, and thorough.
I will likely go back for future work when needed

I took my car to South Street Auto because of all the favorable reviews on Unilocal.I took it in to fix a check engine light. They said they would call me when they looked at it. The car was there for 24 hours until I called them to ask what was up. They told me they couldn’t fix it and that it was probably a computer problem. They knew this since the previous day and nobody said anything to me. When I picked it up, I got charged $ 50 for labor for apparently reading the trouble codes, but was later offered a refund. All in all, they were friendly and they seem like decent guys. Maybe I’ll give them another shot.

Honest and reasonable. We have taken our 2001 Subaru Outback and 2000 Toyota Sienna there for work. The quality of the work has been excellent and they have never tried to sell us things we don’t need. Prices are reasonable and the work has been completed when promised. Can’t recommend South Street Automotive enough.

These guys kept my old 4Runner going. I appreciated their honest estimates and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of (I can’t always say that was the case with other mechanics). Good guys. Quick service.

Honest garage with very reasonable rates. I’ve taken cars here several times and never had any problems. Usually pretty quick turn-​around. I would definitely recommend this place.
