Orchid Threading & Day Spa

I have been all over west Hartford looking for a good place to get my eyebrows done and I finally found a place that is not only amazing but the atmosphere is clam and very laid back, perfect place to relax and have a beauty day! When I came into I had the worst eyebrows ever it was unreal when I looked in the mirror it was almost like she created perfect eyebrows while I sat in the chair. If you are looking for a new place to try out or to give eyebrow treading a try this is the place to go.

Customer service was awesome!!! Mike and Bushra were amazing! Mike did my threading– it wasn’t painful and 100 times better than wax, I would highly recommend getting a threading service. I came back to get a henna for my sister and I and it was fast and so beautiful !!! Great place for a quick walk in service.

What a waste of my time. I would love to speak about their awesome services, but I did not receive any. I was greeted with a short, «Hello» upon entering. That’s all… I sat there for 35 minutes without anyone saying a word to me. I wasn’t informed of the wait or how many people were ahead of me. Nothing. So I walked out. Sorry I’m not going to give my money up for poor service and low staffing. Bye!

I strolled in on a Saturday afternoon when I got out of work. I’m a newbie to threading. I have always shaped my own brows with wax and tweezing but have given up on the aftermath of my «wax rash». I’ve noticed so many people with great results from threading I finally took the leap. When I walked in I watched Bouchra thread another woman’s brows and they looked gorgeous so I felt at ease. When it was my turn she worked on the left brow first. It felt like she pulled so much hair and I was nervous! She showed me with a mirror and my brow was perfect! She continued, cleaned me up. I told her she made me feel so relaxed after a long work week that I wish I could have a facial. It was late in the day and she suggested we do a mini facial. I don’t know what was so mini because she was so thorough and I left glowing like I had spent a day at the spa. Bouchra was my angel that day. She made me feel so good :) mind you, I am a hairstylist and I know about customer service, quality work, and sanitation. I Am definitely returning to the orchid threading salon. Great experience. Ps, the price was so fair especially for Weha that I tipped 35%

I purchased a Groupon for a mani-​pedi having never been there, NEVER AGAIN! This place is supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating-​NOT SO MUCH.
The woman doing my mani-​pedi first cut my big toe and I was bleeding which gave me anxiety that kept on getting worse because she had no idea what she was doing– after cutting my finger nails she was about to paint them without filing them smooth! I felt bad about telling her what to do but I was so uncomfortable and anxious I got hives and had to leave before she could finish. Just thinking back about the experience is getting my heart racing (to get out of there) again!

I decided to go here when I saw a groupon for it. When I called they conveniently had no openings before it expired… which was over a month away. They said they would call me back to try to squeeze me in but of course never did. I called back and nobody answered. I will never go to this place and have returned my groupon. It’s too bad for them bc I get my nails done every 2 weeks.

I purchased one Groupon and one Living Social voucher for my niece and I to have a spa day for her birthday. I had trouble making an appointment — first no one responded to my e-​mail request for an appointment, then no one picked up the phone when I called. My call was returned in two days. I was not able to get appointments for a month and a half, past the expiration date of the Living Social voucher. The owner agreed to honor the voucher.
My threading experience was fine, other than the aesthetician’s unpleasant breath in my face.
The pedicure was good, nothing spectacular, just an ordinary pedicure. One of the aesthetician’s had her son in the shop, and he kept turning up the massage on the chair, which was extremely annoying. I thought I was going to bounce right out of it. The poor kid was bored and should probably not have been there.
The chocolate facial was nice, and quite relaxing.
I was disappointed in the manicure. The shop uses cheap products and the aesthetician put one very thick coat of polish on my hands. I sat under the nail dryer for 45 minutes (waiting for my niece to be done), but the polish still chipped in under 24 hours and was peeling off most of my fingers within 3 days.
My niece had a terrible experience. She got cut under her eye brow during the threading, and cut on one of her toes during the pedicure. One of her toenails was cut so strangely that it looks like it was bitten in the middle. Her polish also peeled off her fingers very quickly.
When we were almost finished, a party of 5 ladies came in. They had appointments. I have no idea how the two aesthetician’s were to handle a party that large.

Orchid is by far one of the worst «spas» in the greater Hartford area.
I bought a Groupon for a manicure and pedicure and my experience trying to get an appointment was so horrendous that I decided to request a refund from Groupon instead of stepping foot in that place again. I must have called 10 times trying to get an appointment and no one ever picked up the phone. I also left about 5 messages and not a single one was returned. I started stopping by the place in person to try to get an appointment and the first thing the employee asked me was if I had a groupon, and told me that they could only schedule an appointment for me in a few weeks. I asked why and they just mumbled and would not give me an answer. Even though the website says that walk ins are welcome, it became clear that customers will groupons were certainly NOT welcome to walk in. Also, I’ve stopped by multiple times and never seen more than 2 employees in there. For instance, one time there was one customer in the salon and only one employee working that day, so they obviously could not fit me in. The last time I stopped in, I expressed my frustration that my messages for appointments are never returned and the ONE employee working simply could not tell me why. Also, there was a customer getting a facial in the salon and the employee just left her to ask why I was there. She ended up leaving her there for quite a while because it took her so long to answer my questions. I ended up leaving my name and number and the owner was supposed to call me. I never received that phone call.
It has become obvious that Orchid is a dishonest business. They offer groupon and living social deals but clearly have no intention of honoring them. Thankfully, Groupon refunded my money and recorded the customer dissatisfaction with Orchid. Therefore if anyone else is experiencing the same thing that I did, Groupon is likely to refund your money as well.

I came here after purchasing a Groupon for a mani/​pedi. The spa itself was nice; it was quiet and clean and the staff were friendly.
The pedi itself was pretty good. The massage was well done. The polish job was not. The same can be said for the mani.
Not sure I’ll be coming back here.

A bizarre set of circumstances led me to Orchid Threading and Day Spa.
I am constantly on the hunt for a threading salon as good as Diva in Manchester, closer to home (Middletown) or work (Farmington). So when a Living Social deal popped up for a place on Park Road in West Hartford, I jumped at it. 3 eyebrow threading sessions for $ 12? Yes, please! I looked the place up online, saw a picture of the front of the building, and also saw horrible reviews on Unilocal.Oh well, I had already bought the deal, so off I went.
My GPS told me I got to the address, so I parked on the street and went into the door under the «threading and day spa» sign. The salon is beautiful inside and smells pretty like a spa. The staff were sweet and welcoming. I’m thinking, wow, this is nothing like the reviews on Unilocal!She did a good job with my eyebrow and lip threading, though she went a little slow and did make my lip bleed a little in one spot. It all ended with a short facial massage and I could not wait to get to Unilocal and prove everyone wrong! I went to the counter, proudly handed over my living social voucher, and… what?!? I was in the wrong place. The woman at Orchid informed me that another threading place had opened just a few doors down from her, and got a new sign to look just like hers. So my voucher was no good, obviously, but the price I ended up paying was fair, $ 10 for eyebrows and $ 4 for upper lip.
So really that story is one of my own stupidity and confusion… but I wanted to share because the woman at Orchid said people get the two businesses confused all the time. It worked in my favor this time, because I ended up at the one with better reviews. But if you think you are going to Orchid, make sure you double check the address! Orchid is at 264 Park Road, the Threading and Henna Salon is at 276-​A Park Road.
I will go back, but will watch her a little more closely to make sure I don’t get cut again.

I am very happy with the pedicure, manicure and pedicure. Although the owner forgot to inform the aesthetician about my scheduled appointment, she made up for it at my rescheduled appointment by giving me a gift certificate for a complimentary facial and eyebrow threading. Overall, a nice place with good service.
