JAWS Barber Shop

Great barbershop. There are many things that make JAWS Barbershop my barber of choice. I’ll step through a few of the reasons and try to explain the 5 star rating I’m placing on this one. There are many things that can go wrong at a barbershop. Most shops have a tendency to alienate certain nationalities or demographics… Not here. The place is pretty neutral. There’s not loud Latino or hardcore rap music mix tapes playing here. There’s a movie on the big screen tv or a radio show or just chitchat between visitors. There is one barber, the owner, Anthony. Ant has a sense of professionalism that you just cant find at a lot of places. Wreckless behavior is simply not tolerated. There’s even a swearing jar (actually a pile). Because there’s one barber, customer service is second to none. If you come more than once you’re a regular and he more than likely will remember what kind of haircut you got last time. Consistency is not a concern either — this guy is a magician. Like seriously, if you saw my before and after pics you’d be surprised. He’s consistently good and arguably the best barber I’ve had. He is a bit expensive, but there’s a reason why I keep coming back. You truly get what you pay for here. I get haircuts from Ant that I can’t get from anyone else in CT that I know of. I’ve watched him cut all types of hair from all types of people and haven’t seen one bad result yet. So I 100% recommend JAWS for your next haircut. Tell him Lydell sent you! ;)

I lived in CT for about 9 months before I was referred to Ant. Best and most talented barber I’ve ever been to. He knows my style better than I do. Haven’t been to another barber since.
Barbershop has a great atmosphere, laid back, good conversation.
Book online, its completely worth it. He’s busy for a reason.

Today was my first time at JAWS and needless to say I was very impressed and extremely happy with my haircut and my wife loved it as well. This place is simply dope! I noticed the atmosphere as family friendly, very comfortable, and modern. The AC was on point as today was a hot summer day. I also noticed the creativity of the artwork in there it’s no wonder he carries such care and creativity into his work. It goes without saying that this dude is legit, nice guy he makes everyone who walks in there feels welcome and lastly accepts debit/​credit cards, I was sold

First experience at JAWS today and I have left a very happy customer. Anthony is so polite and thoughtful you cannot help be feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Every detail and stroke of his hand is meaningful, leaving you with a professional cut. He also gave me great recommendations for products and hair treatment. As he said, some people cut hair and some are barbers. Anthony is one of the best barbers in the area and I urge anyone shopping around or wanting to trying a new place to check out JAWS.

Anthony is a oomplete artist! He literally sculpts peoples hair into shapes and styles that look amazing on their heads! He takes great care of his customers and you can tell that he really cares about what he does, and does an INCREDIBLE job. I loved my experience there and anytime I’m in the area will go back to see him!

Dope spot to get a cut!!! Fast, efficient and top quality. Great atmosphere for kids and adults. The jokes never stopped. And pricing is on point.

I never meant to start coming here. My sister had me bring my nephew in for a haircut. I’m one of those guys who likes to find a barber and stay with him forever. When I walked into Anthony’s shop though I felt as if I had entered an exclusive club. The shop is well lit, very family friendly, flat screen TV, cable, video games, Blu Ray, candy for the kids and great conversations for the adults. It’s beauty lies in its simplicity. While Ant prefers appointments he is happy to make one for you if you were to simply walk in and ask. It’s one chair with one very well talented barber who mixes the small touches of the old world with the style of the new. I’ve watched Ant give haircuts that are so clean and sharp, they should be considered works of art. He is an artist and he treats his craft that way. The shop is always very clean, you never have to worry about Ant being unprofessional or cursing or it being an environment unwelcoming to mothers or girlfriends. It’s just a cool spot in West Hartford befitting the artsy vibe many of the town’s businesses have been acquiring lately. I almost don’t want to write this review as when you find a gem you want to keep it for yourself. Yet I know there are other men out there looking for an old school barber who can give them a fantastic haircut and who isn’t trying to just cut the hair of a hundred people a day. If so, Ant is your barber. Give the man a call and prepare to be wowed upon entering his wonderful shop. Oh, and he takes credit cards! He truly is a barber for the 21^st century man.

I went to jaws for the first time about 4 – 5 months ago when it was located in the west end and it was a fantastic experience from the point I stepped in until Ant was done with the haircut!
Ever since I moved to the Hartford area about a year and a half ago I have been on a quest to find myself a barber shop in the area. And I have finally found it — I’ve been going for about 4 – 5 months now and my experience has been fantastic every time.
I definitely recommend this barbershop, you won’t be disappointed! Great environment, great customer service, fantastic haircuts! Oh and great location now that jaws has moved to the West Hartford area

I first came across Jaws barbershop about a year ago when I was in the market for a new barber. I was referred to this place through an employee at a popular natural hair salon.
As someone that was new to getting their haircut by a barber I was uneducated and not confident about what kind of haircut I wanted/​looked good with. From the very first time I walked into Jaws Ant made me feel comfortable and ensured all of his customers were respectful of me.
Every since my first hair cut I have not considered going to another barber. I have referred all of my coworkers and friends to Ant.
The great thing about Ant is that he cuts every type of hair and is always up for a challenge. He is hands down the most respected and talented barber I’ve encountered since moving to the Hartford area.

The sharks on the wall are worth five stars alone, but the haircuts are magnificent and well-​priced. Anthony is an expert and also has excellent taste in bow ties. I highly recommend this, I’ve tried many West Hartford salons and have been looking for a barbershop like this for a long time coming. Long live JAWS!

Newly opened place. These guys held the shop on Sisson Ave. near the Half Door. Anthony owns this place. Video games, DVDs and music to listen to while you wait. Only one barber chair. They prefer appointments though you can walk in. These guys are pretty professional.
