Sears Auto Center

Wish I could give zero stars. It’s the folks who work there (obviously not all of them) that make me give this bad review. I went to get a simple oil change nothing else. I walked around the mall to kill time. They called me and said the battery had an issue. I come back and the battery was absolutely dead. My car is garage parked and I can understand my battery was not in tip top shape but for it to have died all of a sudden at a oil change is suspicious. I say this because of the force they were using to sell me one of their new batteries. I said jump my car and I’ll be on my way. There was no way I was giving more money to these shady guys. When it was time for me to leave no one would open the garage door. I waited their for 5 minutes and honked the horn. So glad I’m finally writing this review because I will never go to this location until the personnel changes. It’s sad I don’t remember the managers name because he was the driver of this activity. Sears has great prices and I respect the store as a whole. Just awful people that run the place will make them lose a customer well only at this location.

I stood in line for 15 minutes waiting for them to wrap up taking care of the only person in front of me. I was pretty sure I had become invisible, because they did not even acknowledge that I was standing there. Truly pathetic customer service.

DONT GO HERE! I cannot stress that enough. After changing my brakes myself I went in and dropped my jeep off to get the parking brake adjusted, because I did not have a brake spoon and the store was out of them. After waiting 4 hours for a call back they call and tell me they CANNOT adjust it because it requires the center council to be disassembled. I told them to halt and I’ll be by to pick my jeep up.
While I’m at the store to pick up my jeep I had to explain to the tech how the parking brake is adjusted through the back of the wheel hub. After explaining BASIC automotive knowledge I don’t think it sunk it.
If they cannot adjust a parking brake, or even know how too, how well do you think there other service is. I will never go to a Sears auto again and I will share this story with manages are Sears corporate.

Where do I start, went it to get 4 new tires. compared online with costco, NTB. got there at 4pm… spoke with «Fred» ok guy… there was 2 – 3 people in front of me who been there for 2.5 hours for an oil change and a battery change… I figured I’ll go grab lunch inside this Spring Hill Mall… came back they haven’t even touch my car and its 530pm. So I said ok… went to do some shopping for the Mrs. came back 630pm, and nothing yet…
at this time I was getting frustrated… other clients left because they could not stay there that long. so my car was next. they worked on it said it was going to be 30 min. 5 min. later they said my sensor is broken, which i knew, and asked about pricing before getting there. they said $ 45, they advised me they dont have it in stock they order it from Advnace auto for $ 60 bucks, but sell it to me for $ 90 plus installation. (yea beleive it) and it will be another 45 min. for them to bring it. I said HOLD. i’ll get it cheaper… So I was proactive and called NTB accross the street bought one and brought back hoping to beat the delivery, I did not. they installed the $ 90 sensor after i told them not to. its now 730pm. Forced them to match the price of my sensor for $ 60. I walked out at 8PM with four tires. THE SAD THING IS… I kept stated to them customer is King, you have to help your customers as much as you can… they got posters about this and everything but there cust. service is at scal 1 out of 10. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. honest truth.

Good selection of tires but not too speedy. They got me set up with 4 tires, told me I didn’t need to spend $ 79 on an alignment since it was within specs and then they took $ off of each tire because it took them so long to find the tires in the warehouse — so they knew they were slow. Customers get free balances and rotations for the life of the tires at any store. Went in with a flat so I was very glad to have found Sears Automotive.

Needed front-​end work. Quoted cost, OK with that. Quoted time, OK, I’m at a mall and can wander for four hours, catching lunch along the way.
After three hours got a cellphone call. Now that the really worn parts have been replaced they can tell some other parts could stand to be replaced. Umm … OK, that can happen, but I didn’t have the additional three hours quoted to spare. I had already wandered around Spring Hill mall for three hours. I’m not spending seven or eight hours here without gettin’ paid for it, right?
Wandered back to the auto center and … guess what? Yup, somethin’ else. Seems the alignment was far out of whack, something that wasn’t a surprise to me because it was obvious just by looking at the front wheels how bad it was. What did come as a surprise was the additional cost of a «kit» to get the wheels aligned properly.
My fault for waiting so long but … well … it’s always sumpthin’, and that sumpthin’ always seems to cost mo’ money, doesn’t it? One of the many reasons I’m glad I don’t work on cars for a living any more.
OK, none of this is really a review so far, just a story of what getting work done on a car is like nowadays, with one thing leading to another. Cars are not the relatively simple machines they once were.
Service writer? Excellent. Friendly, helpful, sympathetic and understanding of my needs. Work done? Seems to be perfect (so far). Price? Fair, not cheap, but I don’t want cheap, I want the job done right.
Complaint? The amount of time it took. I wound up spending six hours there (or was it seven?). I came in fairly early (an hour before the mall opened, but after the auto center itself had opened) and wound up leaving at the same time the service writer’s shift was over. I spent almost as much time there as he did! Ha! At least he was gettin’ paid though.
