Economy is in the tank, malls are empty — you’d think the stores would be focusing on customer service. Walked into NY&Co in Springhill mall, and no one could bother to talk to me. They were too busy tidying up the store to say hi, or ask if they could help. I found what I wanted, had to interupt someone to find out if I could use the change rooms. I was quite desperate(important meeting coming up), so I decided to purchase what I found.(I hate buying from unfriendly stores, but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!) They ask if I want the points card — it’s free. Sure! Ok — fill this out, and then go to the web and register the card. Huh? That’s weird and puts the burden on the customer. Don’t they do this to incent customers, not discourage them? I ask if the purchase($ 120) will count towards the points on the card. Nope. Hmph. I get home, and find that they’ve forgotten to remove a security tag. Great. I go back. I’m treated like a theif, even though the person who helped me then, helped me before.(Do you bother to *look* at your customers?) They scrutinize my receipt. What would they have done if I didn’t happen to have the reciept with me? Keep the clothes!!! Cripes. At that point, I think they should just be gracious and say«oh, we are sorry we did that — let’s get it fixed» and removed the security tag. Not a word of apology for *my* inconvenience. It’s like I was *their* inconvenience. Honestly — in this poor economy, why do the stores in this area just not get it? They could seriously use customer service training. This is not unique to this store — it’s rampant in the area. However — this review is about this store. I like the clothes, didn’t like this store. I’ll try the Algonquin Commons location next time and hope for better luck/service. Would I reommend: I would not recommend this particular location. Would I return: I would not return to this particular location. I will try other locations to see if I can find one with better service. Don’t accept sub-standard service — take your money elsewhere. Drive these businesses out of business by spending elsewhere.
