Landscape Design & Installation — From design to installation, we can help you turn your outdoor dreams into reality.

Complete Tree Care — Following the stringent guidelines set by the Tree Care Industry Association and International Society of Arborists we offer pruning and maintenance; insect and disease control; consultation; removal and stump grinding; planting; storm cleanup; weather and animal protection.

Lawn Care — We offers a complete package of lawn care services to keep your lawn healthy and beautiful, including a variety of applications, as well as turf grass aeration and overseeding, mowing and trimming, and leaf removal.

Seasonal Maintenance — Our seasonal maintenance services include spring and fall clean-​up, personal gardening, commercial care, exterior maintenance, gutter cleaning, seasonal color, snow/​ice management, and perimeter pest management.

Garden Center — The Garden Center is open mid-​April through mid-​October.

Holiday Lights & Décor — We create a custom display, install/​uninstall and store it in the offseason.

Interior Plantscaping — Through the Growing Concern, our full-​service includes design, installation and maintenance.

Land Clearing — Our trained crews can remove unwanted and unnecessary trees and stumps from your residential or commercial property while still preserving your desirable trees.

Mulch — We produce and sell recycled hardwood mulch products including double and single processed hardwood mulch and certified playground mulch.

History

Established in 1928.

Formed from the merger of two of the metro’s oldest and most prominent land care companies, Heard Gardens and Wright Tree Care, Wright Outdoor Solutions has been caring for outdoor spaces since 1928. Heard Gardens, an award-​winning landscaping company, had been designing and managing landscapes in the community since 1928. Wright Tree Care, a respected residential tree care company, had been around since 1933. With the merger of the companies in 2007, Central Iowa had one company to turn to for all of their landscaping and tree care needs.

Over time, Wright Outdoor expanded its service offerings to include lawn care, residential and commercial maintenance, a garden center, holiday lights, land clearing, and mulch production.

In 2013, Wright Outdoor purchased a local Des Moines company called The Growing Concern to operate as a division. With this purchase, Wright Outdoor brings their services indoors now offering interior plantscaping, exterior maintenance and interior holiday décor.

Meet the Manager

Holly S.

Manager

With strong analytical skills in addition to her love for the outdoors, she jumped at the opportunity to work in the accounting department when a position opened up. Holly enjoys helping employees navigate through changes and new adventures, including Heard’s 2007 merger with Wright Tree Care to form Wright Outdoor Solutions. Her favorite flower is the sweet autumn clematis for its wonderful vigorous vine and fragrant fall blooms. Holly is also a Certified Master Horticulturist and Master Gardener.
