M & J Tree Service

I am a repeat customer, last year I used M& J Tree service to remove a very old and dead tree. I was very satisfied with the service and price. This time M & J Tree service has done it again! They have excellent service, the crews show up on time and they finished trimming palm trees and queen palms around 1 hour. Not only they have fast service but they are very careful not letting the palm tree leaves fall on the nearby fragile trees and plants. The owner, Ricardo did as he promised with reasonable price. They have all the required insurances and license for the city. As a repeat customer, I would highly recommend this tree company to all.

M & J Tree Service: our small community needed all of trees trimmed, over 15 trees in total.
Not only did they keep their scheduled appointment for an estimate, they showed up on time and ready to work. They performed a huge job in a timely manner.
I can’t say enough good things about the level of service and professionalism.

M&J were extremely responsive and professional and provided excellent customer service. I messaged them over a holiday weekend and they still got back to me quickly. Best price in town; (2) Ricardo Mota, the owner is very professional and easy to work with. He provided me a written quote to cutdown, remove and grind one large pine tree, thinned out and shaped another large pine tree and thinned and shaped 4 Juniper trees and later I asked to remove an old stump. All debris cleaned up and Ricardo and his Father Mr Mota talked to my neighbors to ask permission to go on their property just in case they needed to clean up the branches that fell. Mr Mota even asked if I wanted the wood chips to be used as mulch for my plants so his crew spread the mulch nicely around my plants. My yard never looked so clean and beautiful. I was even surprised to see Cousin Mark water my plants and trees. All work was completed in one day from 8:30 am to almost pass 6pm and Ricardo followed up the next day to check if I was satisfied with the results. Overall, I am very happy and satisfied we chose M&J Tree Service. My trees never looked better and it doesn’t look like a hack job. The crew and the Mota family is friendly, trustworthy, reliable and is great in what they do. Most important the price is the best in town for superior quality results. M & J Tree Service did a great job removing two queen palm trees from backyard including roots. Excellent service, great price. The work crew knew what they were doing and quickly removed trees, debris and cleaned up with blower after. I would recommend M & J Tree Service and will use them again. When I requested an estimate they responded quickly and had someone come out the next day.

M&J Tree Service did a great job on trimming my trees and two other neighbors’ trees and stumps removal. The trees now look very manicured and they are ready for El Niño.

Looking for a tree trimming service with lots of experience. Saw the great reviews and requested an estimate. I was contacted the next business day and an appointment was made. Ricardo was on time and very professional. I explained what I needed done, I was given a fair price and work was scheduled the following day. Ricardo and his crew arrived on time and got to work. All work was performed professionally and in a very timely matter. Workers were pleasant and did a very good job. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Requested an estimate maybe 2 weeks ago to cut down 3 large eucalyptus trees as well as eliminate random small palm trees on my backyard slope, as well as clear out overgrown bushes in the front.
A very professional man, Ricardo showed up and explained what could be done and the reasons for one direction over another.

Scheduled for last Friday, it was delayed due to high winds. He called me on Friday morning right when I was about to call him to tell him to reschedule after I saw the wind advisory. Ended up doing the work yesterday while I was at work. I was very satisfied with the clearing and the yard looked cleaner than before!
Cousin Mark and the crew came by today to pick up all the cut stumps from yesterday that required a different truck. Mark was a super nice young man and very hard working! I wanted to save 2 stumps for possible decorative use and he picked out 2 nice ones and set them aside for me before clearing the rest. Each piece is super heavy!
Ricardo showed up to make sure I was satisfied with the work before everyone left. Feels a little empty with all the trees and bushes gone LOL, but it’s a new canvas to paint it anyway I want now! More sunlight into the yard is a bonus as my house does not get too much sun on the north side.
Maybe a regular gardener can do normal projects, but for involved tree work I can’t recommend Ricardo enough.

They just left my house. Trimmed all of our podicarpus trees, a big pine, and planted 2 new trees. Did and amazing job. A wonderful price. Threw in extra work (a lemon tree trimmed). I will only call them in the future! No need to talk to anyone else.

I had 9 trees around the house that needed to be removed before I can start on the hardscape/​landscape project. I looked on Unilocal for tree trimming service as I do for most things from restaurants to home remodeling. The first and only company I called was the M&J Tree Service. The owner, Ricardo Moto, came by on schedule and gave me a quote on the spot that I could not refuse. We settled on a date to start the work. He and his crew showed up on time. They wasted no time getting right to work. I wasn’t home to see the entire process. Upon close inspection the following day, I am very impressed. Ricardo came by the following day and did and walkthrough to make sure that I was happy with the work.
I also asked Ricardo to trim the big tree in the front of the house. It had overgrown and needed a nice trim. His crew did a terrific job on trimming the bushy tree too.
Whether it’s tree trimming or tree cutting, Ricardo is the man. He’s a no non-​sense type of guy. I find him to be trustworthy and personable. More times than not, I often run into salespeople-​type but not Ricardo. He stuck by his quote and did as he quoted. I highly recommend him. I’ll use his service again to trim the big tree next year. This is the first unsolicited review I’ve provided on Unilocal and I’m delighted to do so. If only all service providers were such a pleasure to work with!
I found and contacted M&J through Unilocal.Ricardo showed up as promised and gave us a good quote. I let him know that we were getting others. Called him back a few weeks later to let him know we’d selected them and to schedule our service. He fit me right in.
He and his team showed up early in the day, did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and were gone before 1p. I had them remove one large three that was threatening the foundation of our home and 7 stumps left by previous, underwhelming tree service folks.
There was no bickering over price and/​or attempts to add on services and cost. It was quick, easy and painless, and they’re going to be the first people I call for any other tree service I need done in the future.

Ricardo gave me a great quote to remove 3 trees, one was a 100ft palm tree and the other 2 had roots threatening the foundation of the home. They came on the scheduled day and took them all out within 6hrs and cleaned up after themselves.

Ricardo and his team was awesome! They came the same week they gave us a very reasonable quote! On Saturday morning they came on time! They helped trimmed 9 pine trees and with additionally $ 100 they even helped chopped down a dying pine tree that might cause fire hazard during summer time. Their skills and professionalism amazed me! Our quote included in cleaning up the side yard a bit too and they sure did a good job! Ricardo and his team are very skilled and professional. They did a job for me to take out 2 eucalyptus tree about 100 ft each which stands close to the main house on a slope. They were able to take down each branches safely to the ground without any problem. Ricardo supervises and makes sure that the job will be done correctly. At the end of the day, they cleaned all the debris and leaves left on the yard and as well as the neighbor’s yard. And the best of all, he gave the lowest price! Highly recommended!!!

Extremely good and prompt service. I messaged through the Unilocal app and received an answer within a day (messaged on a weekend, so I’m pretty sure you’ll get a reply within a few hours on a weekday). My backyard was a jungle and I needed 2 trees (about 20 ft) and some bushes cut down. They came by on a Tuesday evening and produced an ACTUAL paper quote for me to look at. A quote WAY more reasonable than the other estimate I got. They were accommodating to my schedule and agreed to come in the same Saturday of the week. They came on time, as discussed.
Everything about this service has been great. I will definitely be using their service if I have tree cutting needs. I didn’t take a before and after picture but their job was amazing.

Timely, efficient, customer focused service should be their motto. They removed very old bushes along my rental boundary at a cost that was more reasonable than similar contractors in the area. The work was also performed on a Saturday at a convenient time without disturbing my tenants. I highly recommend M&J Tree Service and have I contracted them on another property of mine.

These guys were amazing. Everyone was friendly, hard working, efficient, and effective. They go by your estimated price which can’t be beat. I am so impressed with this company. They removed 5 trees today and cleaned and hauled everything away. They came on time (on labor day) and I highly recommend them. My husband and I spoke to three 5-​star rated tree service companies in our area. We chose M&J Tree Service because:
