Dr. Gregory Robins, DDS

I had to find a new dentist because of insurance changes. I was referred to West Coast Dental through 1−800-dentist. and I’m so glad I was. I had a dental emergency earlier this week, and they brought me on right away! The staff and dentist were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable.

My family has been going to Dr. Robins for years. WORST. DENTIST. EVER. I have urged my mother to go to UCLA Faculty Group Practice, which is where I am now that I live in West LA.
Basically, in 2012, right after my family lost dental insurance due to my mom being laid off, but I went to Dr. Robins since I had gone there for a while. I got a wisdom tooth infection and they charged me over $ 600 to take ONE TOOTH OUT.
WITHIN 24 HOURS I GOT BELL’S PALSY. This cost me a lot of time and money to handle, and Dr. Robins of course did not ever admit to any fault. After talking to more dentists about the possible causes, many have said that the oral surgeon most likely hit a facial nerve while putting in numbing medicine (which is a mistake on his part) and so I got Bell’s for 3 months.
Fast-​forward to December 2014. I reluctantly go back since I didn’t use my insurance money for the year, and they say I have a deep cavity that needs a crown. The dentist took out the cavity and put in a temporary crown. And a DENTAL ASSISTANT put the actual crown on, which I thought was weird. Within 6 months, I find out the crown got infected. UCLA told me the crown was okay — not great, but workable; the bite was really high. In other words, the person who put it on did a mediocre job. Since then, I have had a root canal. That failed, unfortunately, and I still experience pain. I then had to get a CT scan, since the infection managed to stay there after the root canal. NOW I NEED A SECOND ROOT CANAL to get out the bacteria that spread. It is a complication, and after a second opinion I have found that UCLA did all they could, but the bacteria spread, making it difficult to remove everything. I also get sinus infections often since the infected tooth is right by my right sinus. Sooooo, I have been really sick for over a year now.
So bell’s palsy in 2012 and then an infection in a crown from late 2014 to now. And they really OVERCHARGE. UCLA is one of the best dental offices in the country with A grade dentists, and they charge a fraction of what Robins does. This office has given me nothing but stress, and has cost me so much money in the long run. And of course, I know I will never get an apology.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dr robbins is the best dentist I’ve been to thus far! his staff is friendly professional yet very short wait time and his work is accurate and pain free… highly recommended!

I gave this dentistry office one star for the actual dentists, and assistants in the back. They were professional and pleasant. My problem, and why I won’t go back is the front desk. Just to be fair only one person on more than one occasion left a bad impression on me. It’s not what she said, but the way she said it. I found her to be rude and disrespectful towards me. She rolls her eyes while she talks to you and tends to project a stink face. I was really turned off by her lack of professionalism. So now I am looking elsewhere. I never complained to her supervisors. I was to upset and didn’t want to waste more energy on her. Now I’m looking for another dentist…

I can’t believe anyone’s ever had a bad experience here. I’ve never been to a more efficient and professional dentist or doctor office. Every time I’m there, the entire experience is great. They’re fast and efficient and they always know my name and my husband and my son’s names as well. They are very flexible with scheduling and working with you on payments and they’re open on the weekends which is invaluable to me.
Every bit of work has been perfectly done and they always let me know what they are doing and what they could do to take overall care of my teeth. It doesn’t matter who I work with they’re all at that same high level, with a smile on their faces, it’s kind of amazing!
I’m planning on leaving the area in a year or so and I don’t think I’ll ever find a more professional group of people.

Came in about a week as an emergency walk in, Dr Robbins saw my x rays and determine it was a really bad infection in my tooth, gave me prescription for antibiotics and pain meds, and scheduled appointment for a week later to give time for infection to go down before retreating. The nurse Cindy called me everyday to follow up on how i felt and doing with my issue, my condition was not improving so dr recommended i go to ER to be safe. I appreciate them reaching out because I was just a stranger walking in on a Sunday morning with extreme pain, they made me feel safe and comfortable! Now off to my appt today, wish me luck!

This place is great!!!
My last dentist told me that my son had a cavity (which I didnt belive was true) I decided to switch dental office. I took my son to Dr Robins, x-​rays were taken and my son didn’t have a cavity. I love that this place is honest and doesn’t try to rip you off like other offices. The staff is very friendly and Drew, the hygienist that worked on me made sure I was comfortable at all times. I’m so glad I started going to this office!

As of right now– 1 star. So frustrated I could cry. It’s so sucks when certain dentist offices come off as just wanting your money and make little effort to help you actually get into the chair…
My friends says they are wonderful so I wanted to become a new patient. I own my own business with no employees so 99% of dental plans are not available to me. The one percent are usual dental discount plans… i
1. I call to ask what they except as a dental discount plan. First I’m told they don’t accept any… Which is different then the information I was told 3 months ago when I tried looking/​calling the last time. I explain the situation to the female on the phone who says «we accept PPO cash and credit cards». I explain that PPOs aren’t available to me because of my situation and who wants to pay full price 1000 for a crown when a discount dental plan gives you a substantial discount.
2. I ask «do you except this plan from Delta because you are listed on their website as a provider ?» NO and I don’t know why they have us listed. (good thing I asked if I would of been out $ 100 for nothing)
3. Can you tell me what discount plans you accept? I am told «None” — I asked why was I told months ago that you accepted something but I needed to keep looking… Then she comes back with with take Liberty Dental ca1000
4. I go to the liberty dental site– the dentist is not listed anywhere for the two plans listed that are not ca1000z. I call liberty’s offices to ask about CA1000 and I am told they only sell that plan through brochures AT THE DENTIST office!!!
Why couldn’t the dentist office just tell me that offering when I called 2 months ago or today twice? Why did I have to push to ask what discount plan they take only to be told first no, then oh yeah we take this but then not told how to apply correctly.
Totally bummed.

awesome service by staff. Had a accident and they allowed me to come in same day. They took care of me and dr Tsai and sally were both awesome. She was a great person to help really nice and overall awesome experience. I would definitely recommend this spot. The stag is all friendly and Jackie the front desk was great about getting me in same day. Thank you team

I know a lot about dentists and have had a lot of bad experiences, not here. They are such a friendly and comforting staff that genuinely care about their patients. Very minimal pain and they are so thorough. They even check my blood pressure before they start the procedure. Love this dentist office.

This place is clean. After my X-​rays the tech immediately used antimicrobial wipes to clean off all of the machines that were used. The staff was very kind, they explained everything to me and broke down prices to my understanding. I was able to get an appointment in the next following day after I called in last minute on a Thursday afternoon. On my actual appointment, I needed to do a deep cleaning debridement, and was hoping I could just come in the same day at a later time so I didn’t have to wait several days to get it done. The staff was able to squeeze me in for 1:15pm that same day. It made everything so convenient! The technology and photo taking equipment they used was top notch. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel safe and comfortable. I got a new toothbrush floss and toothpaste after my appointment. I will be coming back and will definitely recommend to everyone!

Being open on weekends, it seemed as a good fit for my work schedule. I called a week in advanced to see if I could change my sons appt or arrive a little late, the front desk person was not accomodating at all and didn’t care to work with me whatsoever, didnt ask if she could fit me in any other day or anything. Not even because they were the ones who had cancelled my previous appointment, you would think they would take that into consideration. Seems like front desks ego was very big and didnt want our business. Im not upset, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. I gave 2 stars because I liked Dds Chau Tran and the assistant, other than that, I dont recommend this office for small children.
For the curious, my son had PPO ins and my other son has Dentical.
…previously I had mentioned I liked the DDS, I recently met another mother who took their daughter to this office and it was step by step same scenerio.
Ill explain so it makes sense, it had bothered me before but I didn’t imagine it was worth mentioning but now it definitely is.
When I took my son, they began to do the fillings, one was completed and as she began drilling the second one she stopped and felt the need to r/​s for another day… in the middle of the filling. She ended up finishing and then we r/​s for the rest which never happened because they called to cancel my appt but never seemed to care about r/​s for another time. This other mom i just met had the same scenerio, one fill down… second fill the dds stops and says she cant continue. Now the whole family of 5 are patients in my office. Crazy small world.

I have had bad experiences with dentists. I read the reviews on Unilocal when I was looking for a new dentist. Plus finding one that would take my insurance. One of the reasons I enjoy going to this office is they do not try and sell services and procedures. The dentists are all professional, and the office staff helpful and friendly. I have recommended them to others and now my grandchildren go to this office.

This is not for their dental services but for their customer service. They are open on Fridays and Saturdays but for some reason they don’t accept my insurance on those days. Really??? So with that being said, I had to take a day off to go to the dentist. I show up and they said I missed my appointment. The receptionist who originally booked my appointment put down the wrong day, which had already past. They didn’t accomodate me and said they were booked the whole day. This was their error and now I have to miss work again. I can’t wait for open enrollment at my work so I can find another dentist. I have Fridays and Saturdays off so there is no reason for me to keep having to take time off when they are open.

First time in the office.
1. ALL of the employees were SO nice and even after I asked them a million questions.
2. The dental surgeon was very verbal on what to expect and what was happening during the surgery. He also extracted my molar very quickly (10 min. or under). I felt he was very confident in the procedure.
3. The rates for fillings/​extractions/​xrays etc were very affordable and competitive! I really liked that if there are any complications after a procedure, the dentist will see you and fix/​help you at no extra cost and as many times as needed to fix the problem (such as dry socket)…and they can usually get you in right away for this type of thing.
I did have a bit of a disappointment in the aftercare sheet that was given to me after my molar extraction. It was a tiny little sheet that did not give me enough information and left me with many questions. But that is such a TINY thing in comparison to how excellent everything else was!
I can tell you this much, I am definitely coming back, and I would recommend to all my friends.

My first visit was great. I am currently at my second visit… It is 3:00 and my appointment was an hour ago. Did not get acknowledged that I was even here from the front desk ladies. Why make an appointment when I am going to wait for more than an hour for?
Wouldn’t be surprised if I was a walk-​in and got sat in 15 minutes.
But dr. Thana is great and gentle!

The quality of their work is great and they have top notch technology there but they are liers! Beware…
I had pain in a tooth that already had a Root Canal so I googled some info and it turned out it was a great chance that I needed a Retreatment on my Root Canal. Retreatments are generally done by a Specialist so I needed to find an office with a Specialist. I called Gregory Robins office and asked if they had a Specialist that would see me if I went in today, they replied «yes», I also asked if I was to come in for my appointment if the Specialist would be able to start the work immediately because I was in a lot of pain and they again replied «yes».
So I go in for my appointment, they do their xrays and diagnoisis and I certainly did need to see a Specialist. Unfortunately, the office lied to me and they said their Specialist wasnt available for another 3 weeks!!! It was obvious that the Specialist worked out of a different office so I asked for their office info. At first they did not want to give me the information but after telling them the amount of pain I was in they gave me the information.
I went to see the Specialist in the other office but by the time I had gotten there they were closing in 30 minutes. A Retreatment usually takes about 2 hours but the Specialist made an exception and took me in but could not finish all the work.
So thank you Gregory Robins!!! Instead of telling me the truth from the begining I could of gone with the Specialist office and finished all the work in one day. Instead the process took 1 hour that initial day (Friday) and could only schedule an second appointment by Wednesday. I went on with 4 days of extreme pain while on medication.
It was a bad experience.

I believe the office staff are THE make or break of any medical office.
I absolutley adore the ladies here especially Diana and Cindy, they are SMART, attentive, and get things done! My kind of ladies. 5 stars just for that!
The dental work I cant complain, VERY pleased with my invisalign.
