they came out and cut a tree down, I asked for them to remove the stump they did and they did very nice work on the trimming part. They are very nice people and easy to work with no complaints

Last fall got quote from Kramer (KTS) to trim two large trees. We got two other much higher quotes from other local companies.
My husband had the thought that the city could trim most of two trees b/​c branches were near electrical wires. Although City of Geneva does act quickly to trim branches near electrical wires. any extensive trimming of trees (even one on city parkway) turned out to be untrue.
This summer we bit the bullet and spent the money to have KTS trim Linden and Bradford Pear trees. Landscaping adds a lot to the value of your home. So we consider hiring Kramer experts to work their arboreal magic, a wise investment in our property.
Glad to know price up front. In writing. Excellent dealings with office staff via email and phone. (Remarkable how many businesses don’t get that person who answers their phone can make or break a sale. Kramer GETS it.)
Tim the sales rep was fabulous. Worker bee guys who climbed, sawed and snipped were pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient yet thorough. Hard-​workers!

I looked on Angie’s list and Unilocal and picked Kramer Tree to cut down my trees.
I just had Kramer Tree come out and cut down 3 very large ash trees, a mulberry that was split in several places and a maple. My experience was very positive. An arborist, Seth, came out and agreed that the tree that mulberry that was split needed to come down and that the ash trees had the ash borer and it was only a matter of time before they would succumb. He sent a proposal via email that had a clear drawing of the property of which trees needed to be cut down where as everyone else just listed the trees in a list. I took advantage of the winter discount, (If you have work done between December 1 and March 1, they give you a discount as they are less busy).
I asked the office manager for proof of liability insurance and they sent it over.
The price was in line with what other tree companies were charging so it seemed reasonable. They brought out 4 guys in two big trucks. On guy operated the lift and did the cutting and other three cleaned up the fallen branches. It was very efficient. I asked if they could cut and leave some of the wood for my fireplace and they asked how much do I want. I asked for just wood over 6 inches in diameter but less than 10 inches and that is what I got, including them putting together next to my existing wood pile. They cut most of it into 18 – 36 inch sizes. They cleaned up almost all of the fallen branches with rakes. The guys they sent out were all pleasant to work with. They knocked on my neighbor’s doors to let them know they only here for my trees and not theirs so as not be alarmed. I did recommend them to my neighbor and would call them back again.

I would watch out for these guys. We need two big trees removed and as I was riding along on the prairie path today I saw on of their trucks pull in front of me. I thought hey, I need to call tree removal companies today and there one is. Then it stopped and blocked the entire crosswalk and parked while waiting for a train to go through, he easily could have stopped 8 ft. back and not done so. I called out «hey, you are blocking the crosswalk,» and the guy starting yelling insults and profanity at me while in his company truck no less.
Guess who will tell everyone I know to avoid Kramer Tree service. Would you want that guy on your property?

Kramer picks up tree limbs and logs that have been generated by residents removing storm damaged trees. This is done monthly for the City of St. Charles. Last week, we had an enormous pile of branches and logs at the curb. They picked them up on time, and without damaging our lawn. When they finished the pickup, the workers even racked up the residual scraps on the lawn. Way to go, folks!
