History
Established in 2011.
Just a local kid from town, learned the trade at age of 16 went around to many different Japanese restaurants to learn and seek different skills from different chefs. now 16 years later I’ve decided to share my skills with others, thats when I became the sushi monk (by friends)… This is how the name sushi monk started. Than the stand ground was found.

Manager
I started working in the Japanese foods industry since 1996. I felt that Sushi was most passionate for me right away. I went all over the tri-state area to learn from other chefs after having my basic skills tucked down from Osamu-san at Akira when I was about 16 years of age, than to the west coast to seek more skills from different chefs. I have gone to many different Japanese restaurants, and a very long way to be where I am at now, just so that I can share my experience where ever I go.
I have decided to share my knowledge and what I have learned with others, by starting with teaching others about sushi, not just making it, but how to keep it fresh and tasty.
We decided to open up a business locally, and so we opened Sushi Monk on June 18, 2011
