Q T Nails

I get regular pedicures in the open-​toe sandal season and occasional manicures, and have been struggling to find a salon that combines fair pricing with good customer service and quality output. So far, QT Nails is one of the better salons in the area. Other salons I’ve found quite rough (I have pretty sensitive/​readily bled cuticles) but QT offered a warm greeting upon arrival, a reasonably short wait time for a walk-​in, a nice open and bright atmosphere, and friendly, knowledgeable technicians. The pedicure was stellar. The manicure decent. I’d go back again.

Wow, where to start? I went there for a quick polish/​design on my toes and that is it. First, I had one nail tech start on me and then she proceeded to get the owner to do the design because it was too «complicated.» The owner came for like 5 minutes, but had to leave to address a customer service issue involving a customer who just got finished. The customer was complaining that the nail tech failed to properly remove her purple polish and that her nails look terrible. She got them done for a wedding and now had to rush to a hair appointment. The owner told her to come back next week. The customer repeatedly told her the wedding is tomorrow at 1 and she is booked. The owner just kept saying come back over and over instead of waiving her fee and giving her a chance to come back – that would have been a true customer-​centric way to respond. In the end, the lady paid and left fuming mad. That whole time (about 15 minutes) I was just sitting there waiting. Then I hear the owner yell at another nail tech to tell her that she will be finishing my nails (3^rd tech to work on me by that time). The nail tech asked me what design I wanted and I told her that my phone died but I had shown the picture to the owner who was then working on me. So she asks the owner, and the owner just yells, «I forgot.» In the mean time another customer who left about 5 – 10 minutes ago came back through the door questioning her bill total. Apparently, a wax was supposed to be $ 12 but she got charged $ 16. The owner said something along the lines she removed more hair than the $ 12 price covered. The overall experience was a nightmare involving one customer after another leaving unhappy. They also charge more if you pay with a CC which is illegal. I sincerely hope that the owner changes her customer service policies and ensures that the prices that are advertised are consistently honored in the future. I, however, will not be back.
