I went to here with my husband on a Sunday night. The chicken katsu ramen was the best ramen dish that I’ve ever had. The noodles and broth were deliciously flavorful and the chicken, which was served on the side, was the perfect crispness. Couldn’t praise this place more highly. I don’t live in the area, but I’ve been craving this ramen ever since I was there last month. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in West Chester! Would love to try their sushi, too.

We started coming to Nagasaki shortly after it opened and each time we have come here it’s been great! My husband and I are big fans of ramen and can honestly say this is some of the best ramen we have ever had. Their sushi rolls are also fantastic, and we are always offered either a complimentary salad/soup AND a complimentary dessert. I cannot imagine why other reviewers have negative comments – to address a few of them: the serving sizes are very generous(we usually get 1 ramen each and split a roll and we are STUFFED), we have never experienced a long wait for food, the music is fine(usually pop or rock… Nothing offensive, loud, or «plaguing»), and the service is always terrific. I hope other people will give them a chance, too!

The food was Great, the portions are Huge, the service was kind of slow even tho there was only two other people in the restaurant eating at the same time I was. Ultimately I would definitely eat here again!!!

I have been here twice so far. Each time I thought the fish was very fresh and tasty. My girlfriend and her niece who recently came back from a year in Japan were with me The second time. The atmosphere is nice. The staff was great and even offered us a new appetizer to try for free. So far I have no complaints. Everyone loved it. Could definitely be my regular sushi spot.

Last night was our first experience at Nagasaki. I am one of the aforementioned drunk college students from the last post. Our behavior last night at the restaurant was unacceptable, and my friend and I are ashamed of the way we behaved. The restaurant should not be held at fault for our actions, and we hope that this will not deter any patrons from coming to this upstanding establishment. Despite our ungracious behavior, the staff treated us with kindness and exceptional customer service. The food we received exceeded our expectations and we absolutely plan to return — next time, BEFORE we go out for drinks. We returned to the restaurant today to apologize for our behavior, and the staff greeted us with forgiveness. We are so thankful for this; it speaks volumes about the quality of people running this restaurant. Our deepest apologies go out to the customer we upset, as well as the staff for our behavior last night. Again, we hope that this will not cause any future customers to hesitate to eat at Nagasaki.

Been here a few times, usually my experience is good, but what happened today was unacceptable. Nothing wrong with the food, however, the ambiance I encountered on this visit was below the standards of even a cheap diner at 2AM. I came to Nagasaki to enjoy a nice, peaceful dinner in a family-friendly atmosphere(it is a byob, after all). I received just that… for about ten minutes. Shortly thereafter arrive a couple of drunk college-age kids, who are promptly seated next to my table. Immediately, something is off –the girl noisily slams her body into the seat, not even offering any sort of apology to have it seem accidental. It is clear she does not have any consideration for anyone else in the restaurant, and this kind of behaviour would only continue. I attempted to not make a scene and move one table down, so that I would not be seated in their immediate periphery, figuring it was better not to complain. In retrospect, I should have, because this did not prompt the staff to even address them at all, despite these kids’ brash and noisy, inappropriate conversations(which went on even after I moved, with the girl noisily talking on her phone and saying something about sex toys in plain hearing distance of other customers). At that point, I snapped and asked them to be quiet, at which point the guy rudely replied«I don’t know how,» and the two continued being gross louts, prompting me to ask for a to-go container and simply return home, as by that point, my experience had already been ruined. Again, I am at a BYOB restaurant, at six in the evening, not a sports bar at midnight. I should not have to tolerate two drunk idiots under any circumstances when I am paying $ 30 for a meal. These kids were noisy enough that it would be impossible for the staff not to notice –they simply chose to do nothing about it, when they should have kicked these people out, or at least told them to calm themselves down(how two grossly inconsiderate drunk college kids were going to abide by that request is beyond me –plain and simple, they should have been kicked out immediately, if nothing else, simply for being drunk in public. When they arrived, there were families with small children present, after all). In any case, it saddens me to say I will not be partaking of Nagasaki in future due to such a gross oversight and lack of consideration for what should be a peaceful, enjoyable ambience. I’m not at Taco Bell, or Burger King. I paid a lot of money for the food I purchased and I should not have to deal with two inconsiderate, disgusting drunks under any circumstances at all. I feel invalidated as a paying customer, and completely betrayed as a priorly repeat customer. I will now be taking my business elsewhere, since it is plain that Nagasaki does not care about my comfort as a customer.

First time I had ramen there, I thought that was excellent! But last night was such a disappointment. We ordered shio ramen, miso ramen and nabeyaki udon. The side salad came to our table shortly after we ordered. But noodle did not come to our table until 40 min later… when I asked how much longer we need to wait? The waitress said it is taking time since we have so many customers but there are less than ten people(3 tables) at the restaurant on Sunday night around 6pm. Unless they had so many take out orders. I was still hungry after I finished all of my noodles and soup. Too bad, I love ramen noodles but I am not sure if I like to wait 40 –45 min to have noodle bowl.

Let me preface this by stating that my girlfriend and I work at Teikoku on West Chester Pike. We have plenty of experience with sushi and are fairly familiar with much Japanese food. This place does not deserve the negative reviews it is getting. First off, the staff is excellent and extremely accommodating. They’re willing to let you try newer things so they know what their customers like. They’re responsive to the reviews on here and are quick to fix anything that people complain about. Just today they talked about how they changed their Ramen bowls because of someone who complained about not having enough broth. They admitted to buying oversized bowls. I can’t believe someone complained about that in the first place, as both times I’ve gone I have received generous portions. The first time we went they suprised us with free bubble tea that was delicious, and a small pieces of mango sponge cake at the end of the meal. Today, again, they gave us the sponge cake, and it was delicious. The food is great, and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is fantastic. They play Japanese music, unlike our own restaurant. It’s authentic, and a great time. I recommend trying the place and seeing what you think. Don’t let some of these other reviews make you think otherwise. Cheers!

We visited Nagasaki around 1pm for lunch. It was nice clean place and I had no problem with decorations. I drove by once and one day just was craving Ramen so I wanted to give this place a try. Waitress was very nice. We ordered 2 ramens and 3 rolls lunch special. Roll came out first while waiting for a ramen. Freshness of fish was great, but others lacked. Seaweed was too tough(I don’t remember having to chew so hard before) and presentation was okay. We were hungry so we just ate without a word. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad either. At that time I was still looking forward to a ramen thinking that will satisfy my craving. Ramen was in a big bowl but the soup was only filled half. We ordered tonkatsu miso ramen and I thought the broth and meat was good, but when I tasted the noodles, I couldn’t eat it anymore. I can’t really explain how it tasted like, but I haven’t tasted noodle like that before. It was very flour-like taste. I am still looking for a word to describe it, but I can’t think of any specific word. I usually don’t expect much when I go to new ramen places because most of them are just ok, but this time, I was very disappointed. We couldn’t even finish half of it. It was a big disappointment for us and won’t be going back.

We had fantastic service here. Complimentary bubble tea. BYOB. The sushi was very good — we just had a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer. It was the best we’ve had in town. The ramen was pretty good. It came with a salad and with ginger dressing. This was fine. The noodles were a hair overcooked. The broth was tasty and well-seasoned. It wasn’t the most phenomenal bowl of ramen I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t horrible either. We took our toddler, and they were very friendly to her. There isn’t a children’s menu, but the portions were big enough for us to share with her.

Nagasaki is the place for Japanese if you’re in the area. The service and food was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly and attentive. You can really tell they cared. The food was very delicious! Had great choices for noodles, and sushi and phenomenal ramen. The prices were a bit cheaper than other restaurants in the area without sacrificing quality. In a place where you have to travel a little ways to find decent Japanese food, Nagasaki is a must.

After reading the negative reviews, I was a little nervous to try this place. I live very close to Nagasaki and was very excited to see a new Japanese place open up. I was very pleasantly surprised! My room mate & I both got a free salad to start our meal. My Spicy Tuna roll was absolutely delicious and the service was great. I am looking forward to my next visit :)

Walked up and was startled by how empty the place was but eventually realized why. Started off pretty solid with great pork and shrimp dumplings, a nicely seasoned edamame, and a spicy crab salad on the house. For the main course we ordered, chicken teriyaki, beef Ramen noodle soup, California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, and the weekly special of the 007 rolls. All food failed to meet expectations, the sushi was flavorless, there was over and undercooked rice, and the service was well under par. The sushi did not come for at least 15 min after the appetizers were cleared which was highly disappointing as the restaurant was nearly empty. Throughout the meal my family was plagued by adverse background music. Usually my attention never goes to the music at restaurants but this was too painful to ignore. I would describe the music as a combo of bagpipe tunes, Chilean flute music, and interstellar Bollywood, and Muzak. Unfortunately I would not come here again, and even if I wanted to, I doubt they would still be in business.

Let me first say that I was anxiously awaiting the opening of this restaurant. I walked past the entrance every few days until they opened. I couldn’t wait – having very recently experienced my first encounter with ramen(issei noodle in carlisle) I was so excited for a repeat. Unfortunately, the second taste was not nearly as good as my first.(Man… this is sounding like a late night chat with the girls already.) I can’t really speak to the sushi, except that my boy and I ordered a roll on the menu that they didn’t have. Instead the ramen… I ordered the miso ramen which was very salty and had scallions, a few slices of fish cake, and about 2.1 slices of pork. I liked the texture of the noodles, but wasn’t the biggest fan of the broth. It was the perfect amount of food for me, but I was not very hungry. Also I didn’t want the broth. The boy ordered shrimp tempura udon soup. His was served in a metal bowl. It was an interesting flavor and his had a lot more additional vegetables, but only came with two pieces of shrimp. Personally I wasn’t a fan of the broth on that one either. I want to like nagasaki. I’ll probably come back in the future to give it a second try, but until then, I’ll be going elsewhere :( CONCLUSION: will anything ever be as good as my first love? taste: strangely not what I was craving price: More than I got.

Everything here was excellent! My family and I decided to try Nagasaki out for dinner. We ordered a few appetizers including the monkey brain(deep fried spicy tuna stuffed avocado), vegetable tempura(delicious and light), and the age tofu with smokey fish flakes(my personal favorite). We split a few bowls of ramen and some rolls for the main course. The ramen was huge and delicious! I highly recommended the tonkotsu miso. The pork was incredibly tender and flavorful. The rolls were all excellent and beautifully presented. I usually scorn vegetable rolls but the peanut roll was extremely good! I highly recommended that for anyone who is a vegetarian or just afraid of raw fish. They surprised us with some mango cake at the end of the meal. So tasty! Try this place! If you like authentic Japanese food you will love it.

Horrible. I order miso ramen. First, there was so few amount of ramen. I do not think my eight year old nephew can get full with this. Second, the soup is like 1 dollar instant ramen. I will not come back to this place again.
