History
Established in 1982.
My mother was my first sewing teacher when I was ten. By age fourteen I was making simple dresses for ladies in the neighborhood. I had never wanted to sew professionally because I hate the boredom of cutting out patterns to make clothing. In 1982 I had a four-month illness causing me to lose my job in country club management. As I began to feel better I started doing alterations to bring in money to keep food on the table. Failure was never an option.
After having a storefront on South High Street for 27 years, the building was sold and the new owner wanted to double my rent to $ 1200 a month. So, I moved my alterations business to my home on West Miner Street.
A few of my customers have been with me since I opened the business. I have done alterations for more than a thousand customers. I have worked with people from all over the world and from every industry. My oldest customer is 96. My work has given me great joy to be a contributing member of the community.
