EnterTRAINment Junction

Only reviewing as to the lousy app, which I’ve been wasting 30 minutes of my life fighting with. They need a new Web service. It should not be difficult to hand a business money. This place is on the other end of town and Id rather browse first before spending half a day to get over there and deal with traffic and crowds but the store is hidden on the app. It’s impossible to get to the normal Web site on your phone and you have to go through circles just to get to the store. When you finally get there, nothing works –search, filters, ignore what you enter. I’m sure they have great stuff. Not worth the stress. I’ll use Amazon.

Very cool Spot. My youngest loves trains and enjoys the scavenger hunts through the train displays, riding their Thomas the Train, the play area and the fun house side. He still talks about the Birthday party we hosted there a few years ago. We usually go and see Santa every other year as we live about 45 mins away

Definitely worth a trip if you have never been, but really would only do one trip. Our 5 year old loved the play area and the overlook with the carnival display. Thought it was pricey if you wanted to make return trips. I would pay for it once. Really spectacular displays…

A fun place to spend an afternoon with kids! There is a huge (very huge) train display– it’s fun for kids to see the trains run, fun for adults to appreciate the intricacy of the work. There’s a play area for kids to climb, ride, jump, etc in the middle of the train display. They have objects to find which is actually pretty difficult. There is also a fun house are with fun mazes including a mirror maze.

Great attraction, but really a one time thing.
I get the changes for seasons and new figures and scenery.
Went with my son, again the train exhibit was nice, we had more fun at the fun house part of the building. Added it on for .99, great deal.
Food was cheap and decent, great place to have a kids party and can fill an afternoon with the kids.

My 3 year old son was in heaven. They have a great play area that offers a variety of activities. 2 outside rides that are great for younger kids. The train displays are amazing. A ton of detail on all parts.

Eh. Is all I can really say about this place. My 2 year old had fun looking at the trains he could he. Not every step was tall enough for him to be able to see, so I had a lot of lifting today. The play area was nice, he only played for a minute because the train tables caught his eyes. The tables (and there were many of them) we in decent shape and had plenty of different trains to play with. When you go to the mezzanine its a pretty cool view for adults but for my 2 year old he was a tad bit disappointed because he couldn’t see out of the glass window himself. For a place geared to younger kids, the glass should go down lower for the younger kids to be able to see.
I got a groupon and thought it was a great deal until I came. Not worth the $ 19 that I spent for my son & I, for an hour. That’s right, we went through the place in an hour! Drove 45 minutes to what I thought would be a day filled with trains but instead it was a bummer.
Oh well.
We did have fun in the maze part (which is in a different area, costs more money). Between the 2 places we had a better time in the mazes.

My favorite part about the train display, which was extensive and full of history, was the sound effects. You could hear trains, city noises, country sounds throughout. When it turned nighttime, you could hear crickets. At first it was scary, but then it was cool. My toddler really loved the play area located mid-​train-​display. After that, there’s a kiosk of train songs. I highly recommend John Henry’s folk song to rock out to.
The fun house part was neat — mirror maze, curtain maze, clown house, and a black hole! I had a blast. The toddler I was wearing didn’t get it. He could not understand why mommy was walking through a blacklit room full of neon balls.

My 6 years old son was very excited with the trains, at least for the first 30 min at the end of the huge exhibition he lost the interest.
But he had a blast in the fun zone and in the play ground.
Totally recommended for a rainy day.

Great exhibition of model trains and U.S. Train history. I took two boys ages ⁶⁄₈. Perfect age for them to appreciate the exhibit. They have step stools for smaller kids to use to see the displays which are very detailed. The layout of the exhibits are fabulous! A play area for rambunctious kids is wonderful to get some energy out. We enjoyed our visit.

The displays are beautiful and detailed. Very good craftsmanship. There was a pretty good play area with a couple of little sections for kids to play in. There was a little train ride in the middle. A fun house with 4 – 5 activities (terrified my kid BTW lol) Overall it was clean and well put together. My complaint is with the price. We even paid a discounted price at 14.99 per person. I have never seen a play place this expensive before. It was fun enough but not $ 47 worth for sure. We will probably not be returning for that reason alone.

Meh. For a model train enthusiast this place is Mecca and probably Heaven to work at. But, for a family with a two year old that loves to play with «choo-​choos» it is not. Don’t get me wrong… we enjoyed seeing the trains, but it would have been a lot more entertaining if the was more to physically do. The outdoor trains weren’t running when we were there. The Xmas decorations were fun.

My family visited here for the first time, on a Sunday afternoon, and we all had a great time! It was 3 generations: my husband the train nut & I, our daughter & her fiancée & his daughter 6 & son 7. None of us was bored, it is SO well done and there is so much to see!
The detail is mind blowing & fun (look for dogs, cats, a cop on a motorcycle eating a doughnut, moving water, a hot air balloon, parachute-​rs, bungie jumpers, etc.), and there are written lists of things that you can look for, or you may just look at the working /​running trains, or if you like dinosaurs you may look for some that are hidden in the layouts!
There are also lots of question & answer kiosks for kids & adults, and they are fun for kids because of the lighted buttons that they push to answer. There are old train station benches to sit on, lots of interesting displays of train related & historical items, and moving displays of miniature old local landmarks like Old Coney — see it in the «daytime» & lit up for «nighttime». They even have a second floor level with glass windows to look down on the train layouts!
There are stools for the kids to stand on if they aren’t tall enough, although 3 & under probably need to be held up by an adult, but if the train layouts were on lower tables if would be hard on adult backs! It was busy but not too crowded, we stayed & looked for 90 minutes (we didn’t see everything) before we moved on to the Fun House attractions. They were also very well done, and much fun for all, especially the younger generations. I went through all of the Fun House rooms, some twice, and I don’t think I’ve ever been to a better one. We spent almost another hour here.
We got a super deal on tickets through Group On — check it out, they often have deals. Now that I know what’s here, I would have gladly paid twice as much.
The restrooms were clean & large. There was a place to hang coats, which was appreciated since we had on big winter coats because of the freezing weather.

I’m not sure what all the hype is about here; we came and it was okay. I had to carry my 2 year old son through the whole place since all the displays were too high for him to see. So needless to say I got a great workout. He played for a little while in the playroom; pretty random for it to be there but whatever. We kept moving along into the different eras, which was interesting to read about. They were still decorated for Christmas, so it was neat seeing the white trees and snowy area. There were also Santas placed throughout the displays so that was a lot of fun to see him in different places. We spent about an hour and a half here and I don’t think we could have stretched it out any longer.

I’m really not sure why all of the bad reviews. One of the recent posts from the Mike guy contains «And if you’re not interested enough in toy trains, this is not the place for you. Duh, Mike». Duh is right. It is a model train place and thats the theme. So if ya knew that before hand, why would you go here??? The model train display is the best one I have ever seen, which from experience is that I visited about 5 before this. This is a place for kids, probably 11 and under. Great play area and lots for kids to do for inside fun in the winter. And if you are an adult model train hobbyist, you would really like it.
Not for everyone. But it is for kids 11 and under, and model train hobbyists and those who find model trains interesting. Yep, for everyone else, you are gonna be bored.

We ended up at EnterTrainment Junction because of a Groupon deal I had found. We have two boys under 4 and our 3 year old absolutely loved it. He didn’t enjoy the model trains so much, but loved the kid’s play area. The kids play area with a play gym and various train tables and activities, was alone worth the price of the discounted admission. Notice I didn’t say full price admission. The admission and location is the biggest barrier to our family going back on a regular basis.
But, it’s great to know that our family could enjoy this as an activity once a quarter or anytime a discounted admission offer is available.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because the price of admission is expensive.
Even though it is pricey, I do think you should visit this place at least once… especially if you have kids. 1 adult and 1 child, with a discount and a monthly special cost $ 25
I’m not a train fan, but I was impressed with the whole train set up (which is very, very large)
The kids playground was better than I expected ;)
Don’t skip the fun-​house area. It’s a bit small and creepy, but a lot of fun. It reminded me of those traveling carnivals from back in the day.

Oh man I was galactically bored. Like, super bored. Super super bored. I can see how this might appeal to parents with kids in the right age range, but I drove down from Columbus with my family and was unimpressed with the offerings. Maybe I’m just not interested enough in toy trains. And if you’re not interested enough in toy trains, this is not the place for you. Duh, Mike. Duh. My nephew (3) didn’t really pay any attention to the trains and just played in the play area while the rest of us had to trog through the crowded displays of model trains. I guess I’ve just seen one, seen ‘em all.

Even though our twin boys aren’t yet a year old, they loved visiting EnterTrainment Junction. In the future, I definitely see us using one of their party rooms for their February birthday party. Oh, and the adults had a fun time, too!
I’m very impressed with the quality of these train displays. There are multiple rooms, with mountain ranges, rural scenes and cities. There’s also a nice play area partway through, so kids can run off some «steam.» Don’t forget to check out the vintage Coney Island diorama upstairs, too.
I was surprised as how nice the lobby is, with a large food court area. We didn’t try anything from the concession, though. Also, there’s a cute fun-​house section with a mirror maze and other disorienting features. Small kids might get freaked out, but it was fun. The hobby store seemed pretty nice, although there wasn’t much selection for our preferred N scale.

I’ve been back now a couple of times, and my little guy really loves it. So much that the moment we pull into the parking lot, he’s shouting «Train! Train! Train!» Warms my heart. He’s soooo excited.
This time around though we also went into the fun house. I would not recommend this for little kids. The older kids were clearly enjoying themselves, but this was a little too scary for my little guy. He was so excited to see/​follow other, older kids, but it was too scary… the curtain maze, the black hold… too much. He did like the clown college and the hall of mirrors, but we had to go slowly or else he would have bumped his head into a mirror or plexiglass. I think the high energy of the other kids made it a little too much for him… he’s only 2. I think if it wasn’t so busy (it’s October and there’s all this Halloween stuff going on, plus it was a Friday)…I mean, I’ve never ever seen it that busy, we had to wait in line for our tickets! we might enjoy it more, even take fun pictures and stuff in the fun house. So en sum, the fun house looks like a fun activity for kids, just not little kids.
Another reason though for us to keep going back :)
