Quaint cape cod eatery with great local flare! I am a frequent visitor to Larry’s PX and I keep coming back for the great atmosphere, great staff and of course the great food!!! All summer you can expect great breakfast and lunch! and in the fall and winter I frequent Larry’s for the phenomenal homemade soups and stews! Almost everyday there is a delicious homemade soup on the specials menu! Today I had a very hearty and delicious beef stew with warm slices of French bread! If you like great conversation too, sit down at the counter where you will meet some wonderful longtime Chatham locals who are very happy to talk about Chatham history!

Disappointing meal. Soup of the day(beef barley). Ordered a bowl of it as opposed to just a cup. Paid $ 5 for a small bowl with the same amount that would be served in a cup for $ 1 less and it was the same as you get in a can of Campbell’s. So far my only issue with this place and we eat here frequently. Otherwise great place to eat. I just wish they had put some effort into making their own soups. It’s really not that hard. After receiving a couple of messages from William at Larry’s I stand corrected. It was wrong of me to assume that at Larry’s they use a standard mug as the cup size for the soup. It was using this assumption that caused me to come to the conclusion that the amount of soup in the small bowl was the same as in the cup. They must use a smaller cup because if my soup had been in a mug and I poured it into the small bowl it would have filled it to the brim. As a person with nearly 40 years of cooking experience and even some experience as a personal chef I know nothing about liquid volume. And William, as for the soup itself, congratulations on your ability to replicate America’s favorite brand of soup so closely! Now to those of you who are looking for a good place to eat at a reasonable price, PLEASE go to Larry’s. They really do have great food and I have been eating there for a long time! I’ll even go back and try the soup again! Don’t judge them by my snarkiness! Please note my review was 4 stars for the soup which I still stand by as disappointing to me, and 5 stars for every other meal I have ever had there! Yes William I did get your messages and I do know that your business depends on the reviews. Just take the 4 stars and work on your recipe for the beef barley soup. On those cold lonely nights when I want some beef and barley soup I’ll open a can of Campbell’s and think of you fondly.

This place was suggested to us by a local and it didn’t disappoint. It’s not the most organized when it comes to seating but it works. Half of the restaurant is a mini-mart. We were lucky enough to get a table fast on a busy Sunday morning. We ordered the Blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage, the Mediterranean omelette, and the cheddar cheese omelette. We had a bowl of fruit on the side. The blueberry pancakes consisted of 3 medium/large pancakes stuffed with plenty of fresh blueberries. The sausage consisted of 3 links which appeared to have been cooked fresh. Overall, good portion and very satisfying. The Mediterranean omelette had feta cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. It had plenty of spinach and tomatoes. The cheddar omelette was very basic but good. The omelettes were 2 egg omelettes which is a bit different from where I’m from. Still, plenty of food. The fruit salad was ok. It consisted of grapes, cantaloupe, honey dew, and pineapple. The pineapple tasted like it was canned. We had to chase down our waitress for a refill of the coffee. The coffee was very good. For the 3 of us, the price before tip was $ 43.00. Nice big parking lot. I would be back if I was a local.

This place is basic eggs and toast and housed within a mini market. Seating is disorganized and the wait staff was barely friendly. Thankfully we got in early enough to get a table quickly but I felt like warning everyone waiting outside that this place isn’t worth it and there are so many better options for breakfast out.

Soooo average. Not much flavor(except their home fries that are great). Not very nice ambiance. Meh!

Slow ass service! Several people were seated after us and all received their food before us. Disappointed considering the other posted reviews.

I would recommend Larry’s for the device but the food is pedestrian at best. The service was quick, attentive & friendly. The fried eggs were ok. The home fries were not impressive. The linguica required a magnifying glass to be seen on the plate. There are much better places to go for breakfast on the Cape.

Best kept secret of the local fisherman! A real cape cod, no-frills diner. Been consistently good for 20 years. Try the lobster roll, you will LOVE it!

Don’t. It’s just your standard issue ham and eggs breakfast dump– a lunch counter and a couple of tables in the back of a variety store with a bunch of sassy signs hung up. You know, little funny things like«order what you want, eat what you get», that’s all there is for vibe. I had second thoughts as I entered because i didn’t like the look of the home fries and I kind of wanted a nice Sunday breakfast, but then I thought«what am I? Some kind of fancy man?» Quite honestly, I can’t make any judgement on the food as I never managed to get any. It was all super basic breakfast stuff, nothing special at all. The entire operation is staffed by 14 year olds(though there maybe a grown up in the back somewhere). I did get a cup of coffee, but then I sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me or express any interest in taking my order. I wasn’t hidden away somewhere obscure, I was at the counter, with people being served all around me. I tried to make eye contact several times, but the one server just seemed oblivious. Finally, after about 20 minutes, I managed to flag down the young guy who brought my coffee and I just asked for my check. I had to ask for that 3 times before I finally gave yup and went to the register and told them I just wanted to pay for my coffee. If I want to be ignored at breakfast, I’ll stay home and eat with my wife.

This review is 4 stars for food, 1 star for service. The host/waitress was an older lady who was extremely rude. We are a family visiting the cape for the weekend, but we didn’t expect a low-key diner to be so unwelcoming. The woman serving us seemed irritated to accommodate our large family(though there were other large families already seated). After about 3 minutes seated, she showed up to take our order and was prepared to get our drinks and food then(she said she would wait right there until we figured it out.) She even yelled at two 5-year-olds to pay attention to her because she was trying to take our order. I understand that we are tourists and not regular clientele, but there is no need for that kind of attitude ever. On the other hand, the chowder was some of the best I’ve had on the east coast, with large chunks of clams and a creamy base. We also had the clam strips, which were tasty and coated nicely, though the fries seemed like they were just frozen. The shrimp roll was also delicious and served on a hot buttery roll. The food here is good and reasonably priced, but if you don’t like being barked at, I wouldn’t recommend going here if you’re visiting the Cape.

Like most restaurants, it’s all about what you’re looking for. This place is great for classic breakfast. It has some fun options like grilled muffins which are great. I would never call it fancy and I would say it is very affordable for the Cape. I hear this place gets packed in season. We got the veggie omelet(egg whites) which come with home fries and toast. Also got the French Toast with scrambled eggs. Also got the grilled blueberry muffin. Best out of it all was the grilled muffin. Total cost $ 30 before tip.

This may sound silly but their breakfast tasted good and fresh for a diner. Often in small breakfasts joints, the food is cooked in the grill where the eggs taste like egg and the sum total of what has been grilled for the last 30 days. Not here. The eggs were delicious.

Loved this place — it was like going back in time. Larry’s definitely not a trendy, full of itself, expensive place for breakfast or lunch, but a throwback to the days of good food at good prices. According to Judy, our very friendly, but with a wee bit of a comic, Larry’s hails back over 50 years ago. It’s a true diner with the diner vibe… a U shaped counter with stools, booths, plastic covered menus, and specials on the chalk board. I had two eggs over easy, hash browns, sausage links and rye toast. Very basic but well prepared and served. Save yourself some money and try out Larry’s.

Absolutely loved this place! It reminded me of an old time«luncheonette» like the kind that existed when I was a kid! Food was awesome and the young women waitressing were quick and handle the large volume of customers well! I was impressed and I loved the funny little signs around the place. Whoever owns it has a great sense of humor and a gem of a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch!

We used to go to Larry’s every weekend for breakfast or an early lunch. My husband likes the Farmer’s Omelet and I often had the Irish Benedict for breakfast. The Jay Melt and Chicken Salad sandwiches are usually good too although the Jay Melt is unusually greasy for the faint of heart. As my husband likes the food here I will usually say OK when he suggests it.(One note: Debby and Brooke are very nice waitresses and I can’t say more about how terrific they are.) Since the opening of Hanger B at the Chatham Airport we have been going there almost exclusively for breakfast(see my review on this place). We decided on a change yesterday and headed to Larry’s PX instead of Hanger B. Boy were we disappointed. Mr. B’s Jay melt was a messy greasy burger and he had ordered fries and seasoned fries for us to share. I had ordered the Fish and Chips which I will describe later. Not only did Mr. B’s fries not arrive, the waitress(not Brooke or Debby) lied to him when he asked if she would adjust the bill to reflect the discrepancy in what he had ordered. She said she had adjusted the bill already. Well, they drop the bill as soon as your food arrives so that was an easy one to check. I absolutely hate it when I am told a lie when asking for something from a service person. As to the Fish and Chips: The plate arrived as shown in the photo I posted and it looked pretty tasty. I took a couple of bites of the fish and they had coated it in some sort of seasoned coating that had a strong medicinal flavor. It was very peculiar. I was a professional chef for a number of years and have a pretty discerning palate but I couldn’t decipher what that taste was. One more bite into the fish and I discovered that the fish was also not cooked thoroughly. I sent it back and when it arrived at my seat the piece of fish that I complained about was recooked but none of the other pieces had been examined for doneness nor had the fries been re-crisped. They were soggy and cold. Ugh! Needless to say we will not be heading back there anytime soon… not when we can get superb food just a few blocks away.
