Found this place driving around the Worcester/West Boylston area. Grabbed a package of fresh broccoli raab chicken sausage from the case – this may be some of the best sausage I’ve had. It was fresh, delicious and not too expensive($ 4.50 for 3). I can’t wait to go back to this place and try some of their meats from the case. It was clean, and the meat looked very fresh. Service was good – very friendly people behind the counter. Definitely check it out!

I loved this place at first but service has gone down and down and down … I can only think they hire family… There will be over 8 people behind the counter, and 3 in front… and it’s still a 20 minute wait. But that’s not the worst of it… What really prompted this review was my last visit… all this happened in 1 visit… My first slice picked up something leftover on the cutter, we’ll call it a «dark mass» and they didn’t clean it off, or dispose of it… I guess I’m paying 9 dollars a pound for refuse… I asked for«a tad» thicker slices and they went from«see through» to over ¼ inch thick. He then let my meat hit the scale without paper to protect it… which looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days… Then he over cut by ½ a pound !! Which I could have refused, but, who does? right… Then when I reached the register they double charged me for a 12 dollar item…(yes. the one overcut by ½ a pound). I am amazed at the amount«could care less» attitude that I see happening in this place. It’s too bad… It was decent product, and it’s convenient. But I really want some caring behind a place that handles my food in any way shape or form… I liked this place so much, and the fact that I was buying local, that I’ve put up with this poor service for months, but, I think that was my last visit… Like a lot of others I liked their Italian sub, but, that has even gone down hill in quality… This was the deli… for the other 2 venues, The meat counter guy coughs all the time without covering his mouth, and if you ask them questions about the meat, they answer«I don’t know» pretty much all the time… The veggie stand is ok, but seems to be getting fruit fly overridden… They let things go way over the ripe/rot line… I’m sad for the loss of a decent place.

This place has some great meats. We often come to buy fresh meat from the butcher. The Grocery area is also really good though and we love going. The kids like the home made fudge of course, but they do have a great bakery and deli inside. The selection is great and the food is always fresh. Their fruit stand is also a great place to pickup fresh produce. The prices are a little higher than you would pay in a supermarket but the quality you get is worth it.

I really enjoy shopping here, good selection even herbs. The prices are a bit over grocery stores, but they generally have stuff on sale so it evens out. Quick and easy, good selection.

I have been a regular at the S&S Marketplace for many years often buying deli meats and for many years produce from their farm stand. I often come here with my family and children. Until recently I had nothing but good things to say except that they often charge a premium for their products. As someone who prefers to support local business I had been willing to pay the premium. My most recent visit however changed my option of S&S. I witnessed an employee treating a a customer rudely. They were picking corn from the large pile while she was checking another customer out. Her tone and volume is what really caught my attention. I gathered from the conversation that the customer peeled back the husk to check for good corn. I heard the customer apologize claiming he hadn’t seen the sign asking customer’s not to do that. «I will admit I have always done that and never noticed the sign either. It’s part of picking corn and I have taught my children to do the same.» It didn’t end there unfortunately. I watched as it all unfolded. The customer’s picked more corn this time not shucking them and again were yelled at by the rude clerk. Frustrated the customer confronted the clerk who berated them and suggested she check the corn and then apologize. The clerk rudely told the customer she didn’t care. The customer was clearly upset and dropped the bag on the ground. She then yelled at the customer as he walked away and left calling them names. I was so appalled by the employee’s response and behavior that I left without purchasing any of the produce I had gone there to purchase. Given her behavior and gross disrespect I can’t chance my children witnessing such inappropriate behavior.

I have stopped buying produce at the grocery store because this place has great quality and it’s very affordable! The teenagers are quick helpful and friendly! I’ve spoken to the owner he was a pleasant man who genuinely cares a this business. A hidden gem in town!

The italian club is the best italian sandwich in Worcester County, pre-made or not.

Stopped by the fruit stand today for the first time. While the selection was somewhat limited, I was impressed with the quality. Staff was extremely friendly. Can’t wait to stop by and check out the deli and butcher.

Iv’e only been to the veggie part. The selection is limited about I was able to garner enough to put together a meal for Sexypants and that’s all I really needed anyway. The service is great, though. They were closing and let me come in and waited for me. They even helped me shop without making it seem like they were doing it to rush me out. And, really, they’re the only game in town.

S & S is perfect for anything and everything you need to make a perfect meal, great deli for lunch meats, and fresh fruits and veggies. I go every week to get everything I need for the week. One last thing, the service is great! I promise… try them… you will love them! I DO!

S&S now has 3 separate and distinct parts to it’s operation. The fruit stand, which stocks and usually has fresh your typical seasonal vegetables and fruit. It’s morphed over the years to a smaller selection from a more traditional veggie and fruit wholesaler. It’s usually run by teenagers, the line moves quick, and it’s clean. The deli is the bread winner, and it’s a fully stocked deli. It has plenty of the ham, salami, turkey, selection, but they also have such gems as fresh whole pickles, various specialty cheeses, some of the more foo-foo condiments I’ve seen. They sell italian, and ham+cheese subs premade that are –awesome– for picnics, and having food to take with you. They have some cookies that I think they get from Gerardos. My kids love ‘em. The butchery is newer, and it’s your standard butcher. Beef, chicken, pork, etc all in cuts and quantities that you desire. All in all you can get just about anything you want to eat at the S&S compound. It will be high quality, fresh, and cost about 10% more then the grocery store after all is said and done. Been going here for years, and probably will continue.
