Axis Music Academy is a school that teaches guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, brass, woodwinds and recording.

We are state certified and have been delivering valuable music lessons since 1996.

Our curriculum is customized for each student. Lessons can cover theory, technique and vocabulary while having a lot of fun learning popular music!

All of our instructors are talented, fun, patient and a pleasure to spend time with. They are educated in their perspective fields, and have to pass a quality skills assessment before hire.

We conduct students showcases several times throughout the year including farmers markets and opening acts for local talent. Our students have the opportunity to play on a real stage with pro lighting and sound.

We have two convenient locations in Southfield and Birmingham!

History

Established in 1996.

Established in 1996 in Southfield, Michigan, Axis Music Instruction Studios began as a tiny, four-​studio guitar lesson studio.

Over the following few years, founder and Musicians Institute graduate John Antone molded what is now known as Axis Music Academy, expanding to new lesson programs, over 10 instruments, 40 private lesson studios, a media lab and much more!

We’ve developed a modern, proprietary method to teach you everything you need to know to become a great musician. While maintaining all the necessary elements of proper music education, we deliver a fun and effective learning experience by customizing the content of each lesson just for you.
