Small town veterinarian mentality in a big town, we know every client, we know every pet, and we care that you ask us for help. In order to provide the best care, we have the latest diagnostics and equipment.

Our clinic is completely up to date with imaging and diagnostics. We practice with a large amount of specialty skills. These include ACL tears in your dog and soft tissue advacend surgery. We offer a seamless up to date electronic medical record with copies of all exams and laboratory work being accessible to each client. In addition, we are trained in soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and advanced digital imaging.

Our boarding facility is run 365 days a year with people here during all business hours and early morning plus late nights. Each boarder is exercised and monitored just like if they were our own pet. Every boarder that is dirty or staying extended periods will get a discharge bath the morning of pickup.

Our groomer has 18+ years as a pet stylist. She is a lifetime dog and cat lover, who demonstrates skill and patience with all of her grooming appointments. She has specialty skills that include hand stripping terriers and hand scissoring poodles.

History

Established in 1985.

Dr. Gary Ray and Dr. Donna Ankus built this practice in 1985. It was purchased by Dr. Tim Guild in 2014.

Dr. Guild is originally from northern Michigan but has been practicing in Chicago for the last 5 years. He has extended training from the NAVC Institute and Oquendor center beyond the degrees from Michigan State and Ross Universities.

Animal Hospital Maple Orchard is located on the north eastern corner of Maple and Orchard Lake Road. We have advanced imaging, general dentistry, orthopedic surgery and much more.

I took my German Shepherd here as a 2nd opinion for battling with a pretty severe skin rash. I’ve already spent thousands with another Vet and things never improved, but continually got worse. I brought all my dog’s previous paper work in to give a clear history of what we’ve been through and done. Dr Guild spent a lot of time clearly explaining all of our options and we started her on medication and also suggested we give a medicated bath. He also mentioned that they also have grooming services if we would like to use them for as well. In a nutshell, 1 week into Dr. Guild’s treatment she has improved by 50%. We also had her groomed and soaked bath as well. (Let me add, I’ve never seen her coat look so well and feel so soft. And her shedding has dropped nearly 85%) Yesterday we had a 2 week follow up visit, and she’s doing great !!! We also scheduled another bath, soak, and dry.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Guild and his office! Staff and very friendly and helpful. It’s so great to know your taking your loved pet to someone who clearly loves animals and is looking out for your animals well being.

After a disappointing, expensive period with a house visit vet who seemed to charge a minimum of $ 500 each time (plus prescribe anything at hand), we found Dr. Tim Guild and team. They are excellent to work with and have great advice about pet care. My pooch is 16 and has been pain-​free with no side effects after correct diagnosis and selective treatment under the hands of Dr. Guild. i appreciate the methodical approach, diagnosis and attention to detail demonstrated at this clinic.

Dr. Guild is, hands down, the best vet I have ever worked with. I have 30 years of experience with many veterinarians as I have cared for various animals most of my life (dogs, cats, horses and more). What I like most about Dr. Guild is his communication style… he is warm and caring, succinct and direct in giving advice, and is humble and willing to admit if he is unsure of a diagnosis. I have had far too many vets who will happily spend their patient’s money to throw every solution at a potential problem. Dr. Guild is very thoughtful in suggesting remedies and his prices are extremely fair and reasonable. I would recommend him with my highest regards.

I have been to AHMO a few times before dr. Tim bought the practice. However, I have never been happier than I am now. He has treated my English bulldog as if she were his own. He is super knowledgeable on Bulldogs and Sphynx (hairless cats– I have 2). I’m able to ask him questions regarding my pets, and he stays in the room talking and answering questions without making me feel rushed. I also love the fact that he specializes in pet orthopedics! His staff is always friendly when I come in, and I’m always brought into a room promptly. I highly recommend Dr. Tim at AHMO! He’s a true pet lover.

The staff was very friendly and Dr. Guild was personable, thorough and great with our 3 cats. The first appointment for their physicals and vaccinations went very smoothly. When we had an issue come up with one of our cats a few weeks later, Dr. Guild and his staff were very responsive via emails and phone calls, and they never hesitated to offer to see her right away. She received the attention and care that I think all pet owners hope for when it comes to the well being of their pet. I would highly recommend Dr. Guild and his practice.
