Pinch A Penny Pool Patio Spa

AS a first time home owner, pool owner and also a woman I walked into this Pinch a Penny 8 ½ years ago knowing absolutely nothing about how to maintain my in ground pool. The owner was and is absolutely wonderful! He walked me thru what I would need and how often. Over the years any question I have had, he has always answered or suggested a solution. He would say, «take a picture, so I can see it». His staff is also pleasant and never made me feel dumb or that I was annoying them when I would inquire about something. My filter developed a crack and the owner showed me 3 different styles he had in stock. He explained the differences between them and suggested one over the other because it was easier to open to clean the cartridge. It was similar to my old one. Today Nick, who has been there for years, was at my home installing the new filter. What a smart knowledgeable man. He showed us everything about the new filter and even gave us a little history on my old filter’s manufacturer. I highly recommend this Pinch a Penny! I wish all businesses would be as professional and helpful as they are with me.

I had been a regular at this Pinch-​A-​Penny location until today. I have spent a few thousand dollars at this store in last 4 years. Today, I was treated with disrespect by the owner, Pratul Amin, when I told him that I bought the parts for my Hayward Navigator on Amazon for a lot cheaper than what Pinch-​A-​Penny sells them for. I needed additional parts according to him and a worker there and I simply asked for a price on those parts as I had no intention to buy those in store yet. I had brought in my Navigator for them to simply check and make sure I assembled it properly after I put the new parts in. I was told by another employee at this store a few months ago that they would look at the Navigator and make sure it’s properly functioning (of course, parts cost extra). Today, Pratul told me loud in front of other customers that they charge for it and it isn’t free, unless if I buy the parts there. Maybe he should tell this to his employees also. After being a faithful customer at this location of Pinch-​A-​Penny, I will not be going back here no matter how cheap they sell parts for in future. Whatever Pratul had to say, could’ve been said respectfully.
