Wenatchee Confluence State Park

This park is well-​maintained, has wonderful sports opportunities, a lovely swimming area in the Columbia river and is set down on the river’s edge. You’re right in town and it feels like your in a lovely oasis in the middle of nowhere… Oh, and they have a wonderful kids playground as well!

Beautiful park with lots of room in camping spaces and in general. We experienced excellent customer service when the spot we were supposed to move to after the first night was still occupied after check-​out time. We had contact with the State Park employee at registration, the Park Ranger and the Park Volunteer Host, and everyone did a great job helping us. We observed grounds workers working hard to keep the park looking great. We’re going back again!

This park is absolutely wonderful, absolutely beautiful and family friendly. The facilities are kept so clean !! Jose and the other rangers Matt & Don are the BEST !! We love them !!! They do enforce the rules and we like that. I wouldn’t call them «zealots» as in one review as park rules are there for everyone’s safety and an enjoyable camping experience. We feel safe at Confluence. We go twice a year in June and September for 10 days at a time. In years past we had trouble with horrible bugs, The last few years– –no bug problem at all. There is so much to do for every age. We enjoy canoeing, riding our bikes, going for walks. The scenery is gorgeous !! Confluence is our very very very favorite place to go. The one thing I wish some campers would learn is «campground etiquette» Do not walk though other campers sites-​use the paths !!!
Lisa C’s review below is meant for Lake Wenatchee Campground not Confluence as there is no lake. Confluence is located on the Columbia and Wenatchee Rivers. Her posted pictures are not Confluence but Lake Wenatchee which is closer to Leavenworth. It is not anywhere near the city of Wenatchee.

What a beautiful park! An oasis in Wenatchee, if you will.
First and foremost– you need a Discover Pass to park here so plan accordingly or just pay the $ 10/​day fee! I saw several cars get tickets ($ 99!) for not paying the fee. Just do it. There are rangers on patrol at all times.
This is a great place to run! There is a well-​maintained paved trail to run or bike along the river.
The swimming area is pretty nice. I went in the water and it was very cold and refreshing in the 90 degree heat. The water seemed pretty clean.
Overall, recommended! Great place for kids and families. Clean restrooms, nicely kept up. I’m a fan and will be back when in the area!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Glad to have a trailer, air conditioning is helpful if you are not in the water at the height of the heat and you can hide from the mosquitoes if they are out and they do come out.
Lots of things to do, ride bikes around a great 10 mile loop, swim, if you have a boat, the access is good, and there is hiking near by.
We will be back.

The architect of this park was very generous with the space between campsites, and the space for kids to play is outstanding. This campsite is clean, and the people are friendly. The site is beautiful, and it is conveniently located next to everything.
The park rangers are very helpful, but they are zealots when it comes to the speed limit throughout the park. I was entertained while talking to a ranger because he became obsessed with cars driving through the camp. He kept uttering, «slow it down, slow it down, slow it down» while cars passed us during our conversation, and I witnessed him pull over a handful of camp patrons.
The downside to the camp is the mosquitoes. My kids each had 30+ bites over the two days we stayed. The mosquitoes are terrible all hours of the day. In fact, we conducted a brief quasi research project trying to answer the question, «Do mosquitoes ever sleep?» Our answer is no, not at this park. The mosquitoes will bite morning, noon, and night. We tried Deep Woods Off, the ThermaCELL, and chopsticks. Our conclusion is, when visiting this camp, bring bug shield clothing. These suckers will bite through cotton. They are unrelenting. On the bright side, the continuous buzz in your ear will lull you to sleep… or on the dark side, cause insanity.

One of the best parks in the entire state, but it could use a few minor improvements. All the other reviews are accurate (use GPS! — mosquitoes getting bad) but there is one recommendation I’d make. Put bench seats in the handicapped showers. –They are designed for wheelchairs, not someone with a broken leg.
Beside this one issue, it is a great spot with good 3G cell coverage by all 4 major carriers, but no 4G on Clear, great OTA and dish TV reception and access to nearby stores for DVD/​Blu-​Ray rentals.

yes the park is beautiful but i do have to say that there is an employee by the name of jose’ who is extremely rude and harassed a family member of mine. she had taken my 3&4 year old niece and nephew to the park to play and this rude ass jose’ park ranger guy «pulled her over» after she had parked. she was trying to get the kids out of the car when he pulled up behind her and first thing asked was, «does she have warrants. what kind of park ranger harasses park visitors? what kind of question is that? he never once said why he did what he did until my sister asked and he said she was speeding… he is weird. i think wenatchee confluence park should really consider who they hire. maybe consider him not having a job there anymore. he is just a small little fish trying to swim with the sharks. jose’ guy you are not the police, YOU ARE A park rangers. GO chill with yogi…

Lovely picnic spot by the river… very green, lots of trees, and ample parking. It’s also right on the Loop Trail which circles the riverfront areas of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, so I think it would be a good starting for your bike ride.
It’s a little bit out-​of-​the-​way, behind some office buildings off the main streets in the Old Station area of North Wenatchee. I’d recommend consulting Google Maps before heading up for the first time.

I’ve been camping at Wenatchee State Park since I was a kid. We went every year and I had great memories of the place. So when I decided to take Mitchell there for Memorial Day Weekend this year I hoped the place would live up to my memories. It did.
The place is wonderful, really an ideal campground for families, kids and just friends who want to hang out together. The sites are close enough together that you have a couple together with friends but far enough apart that you have some privacy. Our site in particular was nice and clean, and the tent pad area had just been leveled off that day. Our site was #43 which had a view of the lake between the trees.
We were within a very short walk of 2 different bathrooms, which is also nice. The bathrooms are kept pretty clean (for camping bathrooms) with showers that cost 50 cents for 3 minutes.
The lake was really pretty, with a chilling breeze that rolled across it all times day and night. I remember swimming in the lake when I was a kid and I imagine people still do during the summer months. We talked to the ranger who said all the fishing there now is catch and release so we decided to fish elsewhere.
The rangers and camp host are very nice. The camp hosts got quite a kick out of Mitchell losing his wedding ring in the bathroom one night and enjoyed giving it back to him and giving him hell about his wife being mad at him. The ranger can provide all kinds of info about fishing and hiking in the area.
For kids there is a playground, and areas to play horseshoe and volleyball. Also all the roads are paved (good for bikes) and too twisty for a car to go over 5 MPH.
One of my favorite campgrounds!
