# 1 Barber shop in the valley. We are family friendly. We specialize in every and all hair cuts. We straight razor around the edges of every cut, but we do not offer full face saves at this time. We can trim down, or line up beards. We will do full face shaves soon.

History

Established in 2007.

WENATCHEE — Even during the legislative session, Rep. Mike Armstrong lets his hair grow long in Olympia until he returns home to his favorite barber shop.

«Holben’s Barber Shop? Oh man, I just love that place,» said the 12^th District legislator. «It feels right — the atmosphere, the conversation, the hot lather shaves. It’s like stepping back in time, like stepping into an old-​fashioned barber shop.»

Old-​fashioned, indeed. Holben’s Barber Shop is the most recent hair-​cutting outfit on a very short list of barbers to occupy 109 S. Mission St. This year marks 100 years of haircuts, shaves and spicy chit-​chat by a succession of just five haircutters — four barbers and one stylist — to occupy the site through the last century.

The sports-​themed shop — with walls covered in posters and logo-​wear of the Wenatchee Wild, Seattle Seahawks and Mariners — boasts a room-​length mirrored back wall that’s more than half a century old and barber chairs that date back to … well, who knows?
