Description

Specialties

Our Mission: To provide access to, and promote utilization of, qualified and stable mental health services to individuals and families in rural Minnesota. Empowering them to learn and grow through encouragement, understanding, and acceptance, so they are supported in the pursuit of their recovery vision. We provide ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) to residents in the Blue Earth, Faribault & Martin County area. As an ARMHS provider, we serve individuals who have a mental health diagnosis; have significant impairment in functioning in at least three domains, because of that diagnosis; and have been identified as being able to benefit from skill-building. ARMHS focuses on behavior modification, cognitive restructuring, and stresses the development of client-centered goals, that have concrete outcomes. Additionally, we offer programming in the following areas: anger management, independent living skills, parenting education; as well as individual and family therapy.

History

Established in 2009.

The inception of this agency took place in the eve of 2008. It took just under 12 months to complete the necessary Certification process through the State of MN Dept of Human Services, becoming eligible to provide ARMHServices September 1, 2009. The individuals that came together to start this venture were passionately committed to the following business tenets: serve clients in rural MN who do not have access to providers or transportation; develop and utilize the most time and cost efficient systems in order to accomplish this; provide sound programming by qualified staff; create a healthy agency environment for clients and staff to promote stability, confidence, and a therapeutic relationship; offer staff benefits that promote healthy families and a supportive working environment; and develop buying patterns and workplace policies that promote environmental awareness, including recycling, re-use feasibility, paper reduction, and energy efficiency.

Meet the Business Owner

Juliet B.

Business Owner

When I was completing my Master’s program I had taken coursework on labor movements, anti-discrimination law and public policy, grassroots organizing, and alternatives to traditional management styles and organizational structures. These have been the foundation of my philosophy of how a business should run, why it makes it successful, and why I have approached the development of this agency as a collaborative effort. I want our agency to be run as a collective entity that supersedes any one individual and continues to operate as such, even in the absence of any one individual.
