Sushi and sashimi were fast and had excellent taste! Economically priced and big pieces. Yum

It was Saturday night and only one other table had patrons which we thought was odd. We were a party of 6, with 3 ordering chicken and filet mignon and 3 ordering chicken and steak. Having been to other Japanese steakhouses, I wasn’t impressed with the cooks skills in preparing our meal. He did a few flips of his spatula and that was about it. He then proceeded to make the fried rice and serve it, then the veges, and it was impossible to make him understand that some of us wanted no mushrooms. There was plenty of chicken for everyone, but the filet and steak amounted to a few pieces for everyone. Very disappointing. Also, there was a big delay from serving the rice to the chicken so the rice was cold. The server brought our soup and salad and just tossed them to us. The whole experience was very different than what I expected.

i was super happy with my experience here. the food was delicious. lunch meals come with soup, fried rice, vegetables, and your choice of protein — i had calamari. it was only $ 10! according to my date, this is a really nice restaurant. this is probably pretty accurate in comparison to other restaurants in the surrounding weirton/steubenville area. in actuality, it’s a kind of run down place. this didn’t change the fact that the food was great though so i didn’t mind!

Food is good, priced up there, though. Not the friendliest employees. I’d rather go elsewhere to spend this amount.

Very disappointed. We won’t go back. I could go to a strip mall and get the quality of food. Instead I walked out with $ 100 bill for below average food. We were the only ones in the restaurant so I was concerned. I’m not from the area and Unilocal had ok reviews. What were you people thinking. Save your money and find some road kill to cook up it’ll taste better.

The worst place I’ve ever worked for. They serve customers everything that’s not fresh! Even the soup or salad were from the day before if they don’t sell out by the end of the day. They keep the Ny strip steak and filet mingnon for weeks even their sushi are all frozen. The owner was just so cheap that he didn’t wanna throw everything away even he got no business. Their most famous sushi roll West Virginia roll. The shrimp tempura inside and the deep fried crab was usually been fried for hours and they serve to the customers with lots of sauces on it so they can’t taste it. I know they have lots of regular customers but they just wanna make money and doesn’t wanna serve good food! It’s not worth at all for you to pay more than twenty bucks to have a meal here

Not bad for Weirton. Food is OK. I have had much better sushi elsewhere. Very pricy and the service could be better too. I always have to ask for«chop-sticks» and if I do not specify(2) sets when I ask(one for me & for my husband) they only bring one set. That’s kind of annoying seeing that it is a Japanese restaurant. Also, a couple of times the waitress made comments on «how much» food we ate. Which kind of made us both feel awkward; that statement was poor hospitality too. Just saying… maybe service your customers better and you might get more repeat business. Food is always good though.

Your sushi is to die for! The West Virginia roll is my personal favorite! Your atmosphere is so amazing too! The best restaurant in the Steubenville-Weirton area!

Chef barely spoke English but did a very nice job. I have been to many places like this across the country and even here in a small town of Weirton, WV, they did good. I will be back and I think that I even have my brother hooked now.

I gotta admit I miss Hardee’s which was the fast food restaurant located in this building prior to Fujiyama’s taking over. It’s a good show, the service is good but the food isn’t top notch. Something about the stir fry rice leaves a very bad aftertaste in my mouth-like bad grease or something. Honestly everytime I drive by in Weirton, I am surprised they are still open; but I am thankful for the choice since there isn’t much here in the Ohio Valley to pick from. If they could just upgrade some of their seasonings, I think they could be more palatable.

Let me tell you what was good about the restaurant, the person doing the standard flashing knife and twirling salt and pepper shaker show. He was excellent. The bad part was the food. I had two of their signature dishes — the shrimp appetizer and their shrimp and steak dinner. I don’t understand why these cooks can’t figure out how to cook shrimp Japanese style. Here is a hint — don’t tempura fry dinky shrimp with thick batter, don’t use French salad dressing as a base for Japanese sauces, and don’t stir fry frozen vegetables and think you’re making some type of gastronomical masterpiece! Good grief.
