The WORST experience. Dropped my 2 year old toro snowblower off and 3 months later they call me it’s ready for pickup. Summers that no big deal. When I arrive they inform me that there is no recall(my serial number is outside the recall range, even though my machine was experiencing same problem as recall, leaking fuel). The repair fee is $ 125 for a carburetor rebuild. When I informed them I have run the machine less than 10 hours in 2 years they indicate they will call Toro to see if they will cover the repair. I walk away empty handed. When they call to inform me that toro said no I return to pick it up w no approved service since the machine runs. When I arrive the guys in the shop did the work and they need $ 60 for a new carb. It runs like new I’m told. I informed them it ran fine when I brought it in for the leak. What a scam I hate this place. And after I have purchased multiple machines from them. Steer clear!

Great place and great people!!! I’ve been around for a long time and done business with a lot of companies and people. After roughly sixty years of doing business, I make it a point to keep a record of the standouts in different specialities. In my experience, Precision Lawn and Garden makes the honor roll in spades! Today I visited them to go over a problem I was having with an old lawn tractor that had been purchased elsewhere. These people, and a young man named Blake in particular, spent a lot of time with me — over an hour — going over everything I needed to do myself in order to bring this old tractor back to good working order. They didn’t have to do that. And they did it in a sensitive fashion, knowing that I was from out of town and that I didn’t represent captive business or a sure sale. I can’t thank them enough. The thing that this experience tells me is that these are good people who have a good heart and who value the welfare of their customers — in this case helping someone who just needed help. They did not do it for the money! After my visit I told a couple of people in the area what a great experience I had had. Their reply in each case was that they were not surprised, and that in addition to being concerned with their customers, the people at Precision Lawn and Garden do an excellent and reliable job at reasonable rates.

I have 2 tales about these thieves: 1st, about 2 years ago, I had a Honda push mower that kept stalling when warm and under load. I could get it to run(but not well) by partially engaging the choke. This tells ANYBODY that the fuel/air mixture is lean. Assuming it was an internal carb problem, I took it to them because they were close to where I worked at the time. I get the mower back a couple of days later-they tell me that it was a faulty gas filler cap-charged me $ 75 for it, and never even looked elsewhere(I know-I put nail polish on all the screws on the engine-none were broken open). Oh, they also ran my full gas tank dry, as well. Of course, the NEXTDAY, the mower crapped out on me, and I took it to a more reputable shop. They told me that my carb was very gunked-up, and they charged me $ 75 for a thorough cleaning. Of course, I complained to Precision, and they just refunded me $ 30 for labor, still charging me $ 45 for the cap I didn’t need. In the end, they charged $ 30 to simply start my mower, and walk away, leaving it to run for probably 4 hours. Well, last week, I thought I needed a starter for a Tecumseh 2-stroke snow-blower. Brighton mower wanted $ 135, but I called around to see if I could get it cheaper. Precision is a Tecumseh authorized dealer, so, I just decided to see if they could sell it cheaper. Would you believe they wanted $ 250 for the same starter? What a bunch of thieves! So, if you go to Precision, I can’t guarantee that they’ll be able to fix your device(or even that they’ll try to), but I CAN guarantee you that they’ll charge you an exorbitant amount of money, regardless.
