History

Established in 1928.

Kittelberger’s has been owned and operated by Willy E. Fuchs (deceased ⁹⁄₈₉) and his family since 1940.

Prior to taking over the business, Willy worked for the Kittelberger family since immigrating here from Germany in 1928. Together with his wife Pauline, daughter & son in-law Hilda and Martin Horeth, and their five children and spouses… the business has «grown» tremendously over the years.

Starting with a very small store at the end of one greenhouse attached to the family home, our family was literally raised in the business with each generation learning from the previous one. We have expanded the buildings many times to our current over 22,000 square foot facility. Even though the house we grew up in has «grown» up to become the gift store, each of us still lives within walking or biking distance of the business.

I had a serious illness this fall and was sent two arrangements by different friends. Both arrangements were huge, fresh, colorful, and original — they didn’t look like something ordered off the internet. The vases in which they were delivered were both pretty enough to keep to use later with garden flowers. Best of all, both arrangements lasted nearly three weeks, with some pruning out of flowers here and there to keep them fresh. I will absolutely use them next time I want to send flowers in the Rochester area.

I have been using Kittelberger Florist for several years. I live out of state and could not be happier with the arrangements that I have sent. They are always fresh and beautiful. I have also been able to visit the store and it’s lovely. I love shopping there when I’m in the area. So many beautiful things to look at, not just flowers.

The last couple of experiences have been simply disappointing. I’ve been ordering from here for a long time and recently moved away, but continued to order from them because of my familiarity.
I was in for a shock when I saw pictures of what the recipients received. I understand that the finished product may not necessarily resemble the pictures exactly; but it looked they are cut corners with the flowers, foliage and decorations. The only saving grace was that the vase. The bouquet didn’t have anywhere the volume and flowers like the pictures depicted.
I’ve had better luck with 1800-flowers lately and would choose them instead.

I used to use other florists and some strictly online sites when sending flowers to my wife. Several years ago I began to notice the arrangements just weren’t what I wanted or expected and they were not lasting more than a week. I switched to Kittelberger in 2008 and have never looked back. The wife has loved every arrangement from them over the years and they have all lasted several weeks if not longer. We all know flowers are not cheap and Kittelberger certainly gives the best bang for our hard-earned bucks. Thank you Kittelberger for always bringing a smile to my wife’s face … and of course for the brownie points it earns me.

I live out-of-town and had always used Stanley. Now that he is gone, I had to take a great leap of faith and try Kittelberger, which was recommended to me. I called and spoke to the owner about how important it was that they send flowers that my mom would appreciate. My only requirement was that they be living, not cut flowers, and that I was not keen on the basic orchids that I was told they have in stock. She said she knew just what she would like, so I said OK and left it all in her hands.
The next day, I was expecting my mom to call to tell me that the flowers were thoughtful and nice. Instead, I got a very excited call from her saying that she received the most amazing flower arrangement she had every seen. I thought she was just being nice.
Turns out that she received a large glass terrarium filled with bulbs, only one of which had opened. It is two weeks later and she is still raving about the flowers.
I put my trust in this new (to me) florist and they went way above and beyond what I imagined.

nice place, went the other day. I was looking to get just a single Rose for my Wife, which I did, It was a nice Rose, not too expensive. It did take about 5 minutes, a smaller place, I would be in and out.
