Two stars because it has the potential of being five stars but they don’t have that much of a variety of food to choose from and what they do have doesn’t taste great .its a nice looking place but where’s the food ??? Friendly waitress.

The buffet line is hit and miss regarding freshness of food. The thing that keeps me coming back is the hibachi grill and the sushi selection that often features seaweed salad and salmon sashimi

Living in this area for years but today is the first time I came to this place. I was overwhelmed by the varieties of food they have here. The restaurant is crowded(it’s Sunday!) but it is not too bad. I did not have room for all of the food they offer but here are some reviews on the popular ones: _crawfish: fresh, tasteless(such a waste, they were so fresh!) but if you ask for crawfish powder, it tastes much better. _oyster: i am very surprised with the quality of oysters. They are fresh and very clean! _sushi: it does not look anything like the photos on Unilocal. There were only about 6 – 7 plates of sushi, and they tasted bad. The salmon is good though. I like the thick cuts, they just melt in my mouth. However, there were bones in every pieces I tried. That’s dangerous for kids! _noodles: cold and taste bad. _fried dumplings: good if it was hot. Most of them are warm. _Hibachi: my friend said it’s good. But the«steaks» are bad. They used round beef so it is very hard. Shrimp and fish are better. _salad bar: standard, it was ok. _dessert: fruits are good. Cookies/cakes are just like any other Chinese buffets. Icecream was ok too. _waiter/waitress: they are nice. Everything was good until they gave us the check. We waited forever for them to come back to get the card but they never showed up. Then I saw them working on those silverwares, and it looked like they were very focus on the job. So I bring the check out, then suddenly they rushed out to the cashier. I do not feel very comfortable with their attitude. _Only concern is it took them forever to refill the food. And because there are so many kinds of food, each one has an Ok amount. Crawfish, oyster and salmon ran out fast and took them about 20′ to refill them. _Overall, for the price I paid($ 10.95/person), I am happy with the food. There was nothing significant to recommend but I will go back to this place if I want to go to a Chinese buffet.

My wife and I found this place on Unilocal and it had four and a half stars at the time. The food is good and the service was nice as well. The last two times we have come the service has been lacking though. The last time I came my waiter took the drink from one table then took mine to refill them both. When he brought mine back the straw was chewed on. I him and he proceeded to protest instead of get me a new glass with a drink. Now I am sitting here at the end of my meal and I have not gotten one refill. I will not be back.

While the buffet is rather large, the food was cold and of low quality. Many of the dishes seemed to have a very similar sugary flavorless sauce. The seafood stuffing used in many of the dishes was oddly spongy and not very flavorful. Quantity over quality seems to be the philosophy here. I have a hard time recommending this one. Although chinese buffets tend to suffer in quality compared to sit-down establishments, I would still put this location on the low end compared to the other options in its class.

Recommended by a friend. Honestly this place is not bad at all. There were a few things that either didn’t have enough flavor such as the mei fun noodles I had, to something being too salty such as the general tso chicken and the cheese steak slice. Sushi is not good, so dont go for that. Coconut shrimp was the best I had and the bbq chicken wings. Another A+ is the ice cream! its not those cheap soft serve like most buffet have. They had mint chocolate chip, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and rainbow sherbet. For the price and food they had, it was pretty good.

Years ago this location was once a Ryan’s Steakhouse. It speaks well of Hibachi that it has survived in Ryan’s place. At lunch Hibachi’s food offerings are many and well presented. Those which were supposed to be hot were indeed either warm or hot. Surprisingly there were several hot shrimp items but no oysters(which are hopefully served during the evenings and weekends). Sushi offerings were the standard fare, all served fresh. The same can be said for hibachi fare. Numerous times I could see the kitchen staff restocking depleted trays. If you somehow manage to have room left for dessert. Hibachi offers not only many standard Chinese buffet confections but also a good sized freezer stocked with 5 – 6 containers of semi-frozen ice cream and sherbet. Forget the hopelessly small styrofoam containers nearby and use the larger soup bowls instead. Overall, the food rates a solid B grade. Points are deducted for noisy children who are permitted to run around the food bars and tables where other customers are seated. Further points are deducted for my waitress, a young Asian female, who after serving my drink(water) proceeded to seat hereself, working on stringing a large carton of green beans. At no time during the meal was an offer ever made to refill my nearly empty glass of water and nothing was ever said to find out if my meal was ok. Her mind(and full attention) was focused on that carton of green beans. For such lack of service I hope she wasn’t expecting a tip ’cause she got exactly what she deserved. The experience was made more tolerable w/a Senior Citizen discount(final cost, w/discount, water and no tip was under $ 8). Will I return to Hibachi? The answer is yes, BUT A QUALIFIEDYES. I just won’t return to the same area where I was sitting or use the same waitress.

For the few Chinese buffets that exist in this area it is not that bad. Some of the good items: peanut chicken, stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, general taos chicken. Most of the sushi rolls are pretty basic but taste OK. Most of the buffet standards are just OK. The hibachi area is decent as well. The egg rolls and cheese puffs lack any real flavor. If you want a quick lunch and are in the area it is worth the money.

Food is not authentic Chinese food good. It’s decent. For the price they charge it’s more than fair. They a pretty good sushi stations and a actual grill where they will prepare the raw ingredients you put together. I think that’s real cool for that price. Selection of dishes never change. When crawfish are in season they will have southern style crawfish. We come here at least once a month. Crew provide decent service always with a smile. I recommend this place for people who are looking to eat good for $ 10 – 12. These days even a subway foot long, chips and drink cost that much. So I think it’s a bargain.

the food was decent. chinese buffet. since its located at the old Ryan’s building, I knew there would be a decent amount of buffet tables. The hibachi side was great! i was hoping they wouldve had corn in there, but thats ok. the line was long, so i had to wait till it died down. I left to get in line mid bite lol Service was on point, Waitress was super nice.

It’s a very cheap Chinese buffet. Sushi isn’t really sushi. They are rolls.

— It could be ANYthing. — It could be EVERYthing. That’s our post-buffet mantra, and it was no different this time, as we later wondered what could be upsetting our stomachs. The weekend selection is both more extensive and expensive than weekdays. At about $ 11/person, you have your usual fried favorites(e.g. egg rolls, wontons, french fries), seasonal seafood(crawfish that day along with shrimp and fish), and a decent selection of sushi and desserts. It’s a little better than what you’d normally expect from a Chinese buffet, but let’s face it, it’s still a buffet.

This place used to be packed all the time however recently the quality has gone down a lot. The food is cold and dried up. I went there a week ago and looked at the bar and told myself it was just late and that was the reason, however I went last night this time I wanted crabs so bad I stayed only for them to be cold as well as most the major items on the buffet. When I asked when they would put out fresh food they just stirred the food around. I’m done time to find a new Chinese buffet. :(this was my birthday experience here, I am very disappointed.

So this was my first time here. I looked on Unilocal for the nearest buffet near me and I this one. So on walking it did seem kinda dingy. Once we were seated we went to the buffet and the food seemed ordinary. Nothing stood out. I got my usual the chicken and broccoli with white rice(which was really hard) and lo main. Food tasted ok. Nothing special. The variety of was was the same as every Chinese buffet you go to. Unfortunately I wasn’t wowed with the place and most likely I won’t be going back when I come down to Texas.

Came here for lunch 12:30 and although there was plenty of variety the food was dry. I enjoy the one on I-10 and Eldridge it’s much better. Have to say am very disappointed in this place, we were looking forward to it cause we moved away from our favorite. So I honestly would stay away oh and they had prime rib on the buffet but honestly it was only roast beef

2.5 stars would be a better rating but this was not an option. Pros: It’s a huge buffet with a lot of variety. It has everything from sushi to regular Asian food to chicken fingers and fries to BBQ to an actual hibachi grill on the side. I love being able to walk into a buffet and pick up whatever I am craving that day. I haven’t been able to find a nearby buffet that has that much variety and is just as cheap($ 7 weekday lunch). But the problem is… Cons: The food itself is not that good. Actually every time I go there my stomach hurts when I leave. At first I thought I was just eating too much but then I realized I could eat the same amount of food at the Baytown Hibachi and feel fine afterwards. Something is up with this food. The quality and taste of the food itself is also subpar in comparison to the Baytown one. I always get food thinking it looks really good but I always end up less than satisfied. Another big no-no here is the cross contamination at the hibachi. When my mom got her hibachi plate she couldn’t even eat it because she is vegetarian and they didn’t properly clean the work station after having meat on it after she explicitly told them to, and used the same utensils for meat and vegetables. I know there’s a high probability of this happening anyway in the buffet section, but it’s particularly bad when you see the employees do it. This isn’t a big deal for me because I eat everything but this could be a problem for others. Other random facts include a coy pond at the front and the fact that the employees sometimes prep the buffet food in front of you. The coy pond is cute but I am not a big fan of watching bored looking employees cutting green beans on a dining table next to me. I ended up giving this place 3 stars instead of 2 because I haven’t found a place nearby that has this much variety and because I will probably be back because my boyfriend likes it a lot. If the Baytown one were closer I would definitely be going there instead.

Definitely down to a one-star. The people are still somewhat friendly, although they didn’t seem to care much about our complaints about the food being cold. And even the real ice cream can’t make up for the cold food. Once again, the burners here are NOT hot. Well, some of them are, but very few and I just don’t like lukewarm to cold food, when it’s supposed to be hot. yes, I know it’s a buffet, and it’s hard to keep things fresh and hot when the place isn’t very busy. But this goes beyond that. When you can see steam coming out of the dishes, you know they are at least kept at the right temperature, but then when you have the ones that aren’t steaming, you know those heat lamps are just not going to cut it. So we will not be back. They offered us a 10% discount on our next meal, but I doubt we will be using it. I came here for Americanized Chinese food, and plenty of it and would up eating frozen pizza and deviled eggs. When that’s the best things on the Chinese buffet, you know you have picked the wrong place to blow your daily allotment of calories.

I came here for the first time on Wednesday, and the Hibachi Grill was delicious! Besides trying their noodles, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, broccoli, bean sprouts with garlic and chili sauce, which was FANTASTIC, I tried their mixed vegetables with tofu, fried plantains(identified as fried bananas but I know plantains when i taste them), and their sushi veggie rolls. Their service was alright for a buffet. I would have given them a five star rating, but they lacked adequate vegan options. Besides that, I would recommend this place to anyone.
