History
Established in 2005.
Jeff Lefton, founder and owner of Abra-Kid-Abra, got a magic kit for Christmas when he was 8 years old. Jeff was a shy child and magic helped him come out of his shell. Jeff’s started performing at kids birthday parties when he was 12. His mother would drive him around on the weekends. Jeff did magic through high school and college, then went on to do magic full time, performing at Hollywood’s Magic Castle, in Las Vegas, and on a 3-month national tour for General Motors. In 2005 Jeff founded Abra-Kid-Abra to share his passion with others, and to help kids develop their presentation skills and confidence in front of a group – an important life skill.
Josh Routh co-founded Abra-Kid-Abra with Jeff. Josh’s background is in circus and comedy, having performed at the Smithsonian, the New Pickle Circus, the Famour Reynold’s Circus, and the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. Josh designed Abra-Kid-Abra’s popular circus and comedy curriculums.

Jeff L.
Business Owner
St. Louis Magician Jeff Lefton was bitten by the magic bug at age 8 when his dad gave him a magic set. Jeff began performing at kids birthday parties when he was 12, thanks to the tireless weekend chauffering of his mother. Jeff performed throughout high school and college, then became a full time magician in St. Louis. Jeff has performed in Hollywood at The Magic Castle, in Las Vegas, and on a 3-month national tour for General Motors. He got his MBA at Washington University to more formally learn the business aspects of magic. In 2005 Jeff started Abra-Kid-Abra to share his passion for magic with kids. Josh Routh added circus and comedy to the mix. Today Abra-Kid-Abra annually teaches 2000 children and performs for over 15,000.
