The gallery offers a wide range of Contemporary Fine Arts and Crafts from local and regional artists. One-​of-​a-​kind pottery is created and fired on location by ceramic artist and owner Cathey Bolton

History

Established in 2008.

Cathey Bolton is a Ceramic Artist specializing in functional pottery for everyday use. She has been creating and learning her trade in North Carolina for over 20 years.

Cathey loves the relationship a piece of pottery can have with the user and the intimacy it can create. She feels art is about the process; «To me it’s about problem solving, making mistakes, individualism, personal expression and accountability in your work.

«I strive hard to create a balance in both the natural and structural world to create functional, unique, vibrant pottery for everyday use.» –Cathey

Born in North Carolina, Cathey graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at East Carolina University. Presently she resides in the mountains of Waynesville, North Carolina. In November of 2008 Cathey opened up a small ceramic studio and gallery, Art on Depot, in the Historic Frog Level area of Waynesville where she creates her pottery and jewelry.

Cathey has expanded her creativity to encompass other forms of art as well. Many of her works include ceramic, seashell and fabric inspired belt buckles and jewelry. Many of her pieces have been in numerous editorials, advertising and publications throughout Western North Carolina.
