Waynesboro Optical has been around for well over 30yrs. it was formerly Owned and operated by William Hoos. Bill has built an outstanding company on his reputation of providing quality service in the field of Optical needs. Dr. Joel H McGahen is a 1981 graduate of The Pennsylvainia State University with a bachelor in Biology. He received a second bachelor of Visual Science in 1982 and his Doctor of Optometry from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1986.

Dr. McGahen is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes, cataracts and retinal eye disease. These can only be found through a comprehensive dilated eye exams. He also specializes in low vision rehabilitation, vison therapy, infant and pediatric care.

Dr McGahen takes pride in fitting toric and bifocal contact lenses and many of his patients are amazed as to how much time he spends with them once they are in the chair. He will explain your conditions and treatments and personally show you visual aids and how to use them.
