History

Established in 1932.

Lawrence Transfer & Storage was founded in 1932 by Weldon T. Lawrence Sr. Originally a hauler of produce & furniture, the company began to specialize in transporting household goods in 1935, Lawrence joined United Van Lines in 1942 to secure return loads for its fleet of furniture vans. Lawrence is one of the original shareholder agents & is the oldest agent for United Van Lines. Lawrence continued its growth and renamed to Lawrence Transportation Systems, Inc. Lawrence is one of the largest hauling agents in the United system today. Lawrence is a leader in the moving industry — first to utilize the use of double trailers and customized pricing. Lawrence is now 3^rd generation and through steady growth has diversified with several divisions outside of the moving industry. Lawrence has a 4A1 D&B rating.
