Painting with a Twist

Not happy with our experience. We had a lousy teacher who rushed us through a painting that should have taken 3 hours. When we were done, no ones painting looked like the original on the website, not even the teachers. My sister warned me about this but I didn’t listen. There are better pwt locations. Try them first.

I’m here right now for my mom’s surprise party and the staff especially Nancy are so amazing!!! My sister in law and I wanted this to be a great day for my mom and they did not disappoint! Book your next party their and ask for Nancy!!!

Would highly recommend this place! So much fun! I’m no artist but the instructor made it easy and so much fun!

I’ve been here twice with both a large group of girls. The instructors have been super friendly, helpful, and entertaining both times. Studio is clean and pretty big. The only downside is that it can all feel a bit rushed if you are there to also socialize with your friends. It’s $ 35 per person which I think is a reasonable price.
Overall, it’s a great way to spend a Sat or Sun afternoon with friends!

What a fun night with good friends! We got there early to have a few snacks and some wine. They have plenty of tables to set it all up and they provide plates and cups. Then we got down to painting. Everything is set up for you and the instruction is easy to follow. The staff are friendly and helpful. They play great music, too. The 3 hours flew by, we had lots of laughs and I went home with some artwork! Highly recommend!

I’ve heard good things about Painting With A Twist, so my best friend and I decided to check it out. It was the perfect day out! We brought some wine and settled in with all the other (mostly) ladies. The instructor was very patient and quite entertaining. The whole thing is VERY laid back, so there’s no anxiety about how good/​bad you’re painting. My friend and I spent about 90% of our time just cracking up over our terrible artistic skills.
I’ve recommended this place to a ton of people already, and I can’t wait to come back with more of my friends. They give you a frequent painter card (paint 10 times, get one class free) that I will be sure to utilize!

I surprised my mom by taking her to PWAT for her birthday with some of my family members for something a little different that she definitely wouldn’t expect (honestly, I told her we were going rock climbing… she wasn’t looking forward to it). This was a first time for the five of us and we had an absolute blast!
Parking in this area, especially on a Friday evening, can be a little rough, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time for that before the class starts. Once we got into PWAT, everything was already laid out for us. We picked a little corner with a table for our wine, cheese tray, and chocolates and started digging in. By the time we were ready to start, we took our seats and started making some real art.
There were two instructors to walk you through each and every step. They were very reassuring that you could not mess up — it’s just paint and it can always be touched-​up. Two hours later — our artwork was finished and it was beautiful! It was really great to see how different each painting turned out.
I absolutely loved this and would do it again. (In fact, I already have!) This is a great girls’ night out — definitely check it out!
A couple of notes:
1. This is BYOB.
2. Make sure you call ahead or reserve your spots online — these classes fill up quickly. Also make sure to say if you want to be seated with your friends.
3. Relax and have fun!

This was such a fun experience. They really set it up perfectly. The timing was great — I didn’t feel rushed and had time to really make the painting mine and also take some breaks. The instructors walked around and made sure we all had what we needed. I felt so relaxed the whole time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I will definitely be back.

I was suppose to go for a bacherlotte party, but I wasn’t able to go due to family emergency (funeral). Long story, short. there was a case of she said-​he said about the bill btwn the organizer of the event and the business. The organizer was saying she called the business, but they wouldn’t credit her the amount. When I called the business, they said she never called. After a few times of back and forth, I emailed the business to say can you just respond to all parties so I can just one story. The business said they didn’t get involved and when I tried to follow-​up with a phone call, they just ignored my voicemails.
Now they lost a customer for life and earn this Unilocal review. congrats!

Went here last night with a group of 10 girls and we all had a great time! It is always a challenge to get a group of friends together for a planned night out but this was a perfect idea. You get to hang out and chat, drink as much wine as you want (BYO), and do something new/​different (at least for all of us it was new/​different).
Rob was our instructer and he was great. Though many of us were a bit terrified especially when it came to painting flowers, his encouragement and laid back attitude gave us all the will to just «go for it». I don’t think any of us actually had a painting that didn’t look good in its own way — which was shocking to us all.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to friends for a fun girls’ night out and can’t wait until one opens in Philly closer to home so that I can head back!

Recently engaged, I invited my girlfriends as a night out and a memorable way to commemorate the event. It was a complete surprise. I only provided the date, time, address and to arrive hungry.
I called to schedule and the owner was so accommodating. He took a regular class that was open to the public and placed it on hold until I could confirm the girls availability for that week. My phone calls were returned right away. The owner’s enthusiasm was contagious.
The instructor was fantastic. She was fun, entertaining, patient and talented. I need to follow up with her name– as she was perfect for the job.
My Mom, future Mother In Law and a few of their friends joined us. They had the best night and were raving about it weeks later.
The instructor even added a painting for me to ask the girls to join me on my wedding day.
I really cannot recommend this place and the staff enough.

you get to paint a pretty picture. you get to bring snacks. you get to bring booze. it’s a win-​win-​win!
i had a great time here. i love the fact that it’s BYOB; the wine helped release my inner creativity. and it made my painting look even better!
the instructors and fellow painters were very nice and helpful. i wish we had more time, because i felt my painting wasn’t finished in the 2 hours of the class. i would absolutely do this again. we are already talking about getting a group together for a private party.

I really enjoyed my first class with Painting with a Twist!
Our instructors Amy and Linda were very friendly and gave us step-​by-​step instructions while we painted canvas with acrylic paint. All of the supplies are at the studio including aprons and one of the most important tools the night — a cork screw! The atmosphere was very laid back and there was a variety of different talents in our class. You could tell that some people were not there for the first time because they knew exactly what to do. The only complaint that my friends and I had about the evening was that we needed more time! It’s amazing how fast two hours can fly by but overall we were satisfied with our paintings and hung them up as soon as we got home.
The painting that we created was called ‘Spring Flowers’ and we had two hours to complete it. It was a very colorful floral design that allowed for us to I would have liked more time warnings earlier on because I felt very rushed towards the end. I wanted to add more flowers to it but time ran out. I might even work on it at home some more but I don’t have as many paint colors as the studio does.
The class was $ 35 and I think it was worth it!

So much fun! I went to the paint your pet night and had a blast! The staff artists were very helpful and patient, when helping everyone improve their technique and offered simple tricks to really help make the paintings pop off the canvas. If you are looking for a super fun time, you definitely need to sign up for one of these classes and find your inner artist. Can’t wait to come back!
